DALLAS – Funeral services for Jamie Lee Uptergrove, 22 of Dallas, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2001 in the Keever Mortuary – Palmer Chapel with Rev. Mel Bishara officiating.
Born on Nov. 7, 1978 in Dallas, the son of Ricky and Kari Raney Uptergrove, he passed away March 9, 2001 at his home.
He is survived by his wife Melinda Stegall Uptergrove of Dallas; father Ricky Uptergrove; mother and step-father Kari and Hickman Wallace of Wylie; brother Scott Wallace of Wylie and grandmother Billie Young of Palmer.
Pallbearers were Randy Tipton, Hickman Wallace, Doug Harper, Rodney Caladrent, Matt Garza and Kim Smith.
Interment followed in the Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
Preston K. Widner
Feb. 3, 1932 – March 9, 2001
ENNIS – Graveside services for Preston K. Widner, 69 of Ennis, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2001 in the Palmer Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Ricks officiating. Military honors were provided by Ft. Hood.
Born on Feb. 3, 1932 in Girard, Kan., the son of Preston R. and Joe Louise Stalker Widner, he passed away March 9, 2001 at the Ennis Regional Medical Center.
Preceded in death by a brother John R. Widner and granddaughter Shelly Duran; he is survived by his wife Caecilia of Ennis; two sons Joe and his wife Linda Widner of Palmer and Preston Robert “Bob” Widner of Palmer; daughter Virginia M. Widner of Ennis; four grandchildren Natasha Widner, Tyler Widner, Jackie Wade and Gary B. “Buddy” Wade; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
Hazel Claudine Aronson

WAXAHACHIE – Funeral services for Hazel Claudine Aronson were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at Boze-Mitchell Chapel with Rev. Larry Pool officiating.
Born on Dec. 21, 1921 in Avinger, the daughter of Taylor David and Laura Tankersly Snead, she passed away March 24, 2001 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
Preceded in death by her husbands Fares Elton Brooks and Jake Aronson; she is survived by son Forest Elwood Brooks and wife Lynda of Paris, Ark.; two daughters Cherry Foraine Brooks Pool and husband Larry Midlothian and Janis Gay Brooks Echols and husband Jerry of Bullard; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and sister Georgia Pearl Haines.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
Shirley A. Hessel

Preceded in death by her husband Billy Gene Hessel; she is survived by her two sons Mark Hessel of Ennis and Barry Hessel of Palmer; mother Anna Gilbert of Riesel and sister Joyce Mullens of Riesel.
Interment followed in the Riesel City Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.

Born on May 31, 1936 in Atkinson, Neb., he passed away March 20, 2001 at the Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
Preceded in death by her son Donald Jackson; she is survived by her children and spouses Steve and Cindy Jackson, Tim and Lynn Humphrey, Jim and Julia Humphrey, Tammy and Rodney Henderson, Ronda and Carl McAfee and Peggy Daly and Scott Jackson; daughter-in-law Jeanie Jackson; grandchildren Jeni, Jacki, Drew, Nicki, Halle, Annika, Tonya, Amber, Colin, Steven and Curtis; and great-grandchildren Julia, Curtain and Cody.
Pallbearers were Tim Humphrey, Jim Humphrey, Steve Jackson, Steven Jackson, Harvey Mitschke, Don Keilers, Albert Bigler and Jerry Wakefield.
Interment followed in the Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.

Jones of Red Oak; daughters Regina Scott and husband Ray of Palmer and Loretta Smith and husband Charles of Sachse; grandchildren Nikki Cantrell and husband Mark of Bridgeport, Wendi Lopez and husband Adrian of Jacksonville, N.C., Scott Smith and wife, Brian Smith and wife; great-grandchildren Caleb and Cade Cantrell, and Mason Lopez; sisters Mary Jo Campbell of Phoeniz, Ariz., Glentis Reeder of Klamath Fallas, Ore., Jessie Abney of DeQueen, Ark., and Zula Reagan and husband Adrian of Dublin.
Pallbearers were Ray Scott, Mark Cantrell, Jacky Scott, Tommy Thompson, Wally Szymczak and Ernie Steiner.

Born on Feb. 6, 1941 in Hubbard, the son of W.W. and Madie Hamilton Lipsey, he passed away March 24, 2001 at his home.
Preceded in death by his parents, son Kenneth Wayne Lipsey, and brother W.E. Lipsey; he is survived by his wife Ann Lipsey of Waxahachie; son David D. Lipsey and wife Mary of Waxahachie; brothers Charles “Buck” Lipsey and wife Donna of Ennis and Donald Ray Lipsey and wife Jody of Tyler; sisters Margaret Walls of Ennis, Betty Stephens and husband Carl of Waco, and Doris Moore and husband Kenneth of Rosenthal; grandchildren Amy Koenig of Carrollton, Jimmy Lipsey of Waxahachie, Amanda Long of Garrett; granddaughter Payton Lipsey; and sister-in-law Brenda Carrigan.
Pallbearers were Doyle Brown, Wendell Carrington, Bill Waller, Don Anderson, Richard Carrigan and Gary Holcomb. Honorary pallbearers were Jamey Williams, Clifford Stacks, Jackie Stutts and Gary Carrigan.
Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
