WAXAHACHIE Funeral services for Melba Jeane Bowren, of Midlothian, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001 at Waxahachie Funeral Home chapel with Rev. L.W. Dollar officiating and assisted by Rev. Gene Lewis and Rev. Mary Franklin.
Born on April 18, 1931 in Magdalena, New Mexico, the daughter of Lester and Tempie Magness, she passed away April 25, 2001 at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie.
She is survived by her husband Henry H. Bowren of Midlothian; Crisi and Vinson of Groves and Jami Breedlove; brother Richard Magness of Seattle, Wash.; sister Linna Fay Allen of Edom; grandchildren Kara and Emily Breedlove, Lance Moore, Ashli Amos, Shelbi Brosh, Cameron Brosh, Caleb Vinson and Destini Vinson; and great-grandchild Lance Alexander Moore.
Pallbearers are Dan Burkett, Rodney Johnston, Phinis Morgan, Tim Morgan, Billy Sides and Sonny Sides.
Interment followed in the Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

April 28, 2001 in the Waxahachie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Smith officiating.
Born on June 6, 1927 in Italy, the daughter of Emmett Lee and Maudie Embrey Scott, she passed away April 26, 2001 at Dallas Baylor Medical Center.
She is survived by sister and brother-in-law LaVoyce and Thomas Tennery; nieces and nephews Gwyn and Doug Arnold, Tempye and Bob Kinnart and Ann and Jimmy Tennery; and four great-great-nephews.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Tennery Jr., Jody Tennery, Jeremy Tennery, Jimmy Bergeron, Kris Taylor and Kevin Kinnart.
Interment followed in the Forreston Cemetery under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Born on March 28, 1905 in Klondike, the son of Rev. Bruce and Emma Robnett, he passed away April 27, 2001.
Preceded in death by his wife Willie Mae Bobo, brothers Benton, Elbert, Eldon and Ray, sister Effie Moore and sisters-in-law Lena Mae and Billie Robnett; he is survived by sons Bob and wife Mary Jo of Pearland and Jim and his wife Ginger of Red Oak; two granddaughters Melanie Peterson and Pete of Ferris and Judy Robnett and fianc้ Steve Rifel of Lancaster; three great-grandsons Dustin and Brandon Peterson and Maverick Jones; brothers R.B. of Dallas and Clifton and wife Ruby of Burleson; sisters Audry Little and husband Alfred of Austin and Jane Hartman of Commerce and sisters-in-law Oleta Robnett and Shirley Robnett of Dallas.
Interment followed at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.

Born on Jan. 18, 1927 in Shamrock, the son of Johnny and Rose Eller Grimes Surratt, he passed away April 26, 2001.
He is survived by wife Ruby; daughter Pat White of Italy; sons James Earl Surratt and his spouse of Wilmer and Kenneth Surratt of Ferris; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Laurel Land Cemetery under the direction of Laurel Land Funeral Home.

Born on Sept. 18, 1920 in Waymouth, Mass., the daughter of Rufus H. and Gladys I. Hollis Blanton, she passed away April 23, 2001 at Claystone Manor Nursing Home in Ennis.
Preceded in death by her husband Richard Earl Widener, son Darrell Widener on April 11, 2001 and sister Lillian B. Richardson; she is survived by her son Jerald W. Widener of Ennis; daughter-in-law Mae Widener of Ennis; six grandsons; four granddaughters and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Andy Widener, Carey Widener, Grady Widener, Richard Widener, Joe Widener, Tim Slovak and Barry Widener.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Ballard of Pecan Hill; sons Tim Ballard of Cleburne and Daniel Ballard of Houston; daughter Donna Brandt of California and sister Harriet Haynes of Colorado.

Preceded in death by her husband Robert Asa Ray and her parents, five brothers and five sisters and grandson Terry Love; she is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law Bobbie Jean and Jimmy Birdwell of Ferris and Patsy and Walter Wilson Jr. of Mesquite; seven grandchildren Donna Shaw, Jayme Birdwell, Janna Neal and Robbie Birdwell of Ferris, Clint Birdwell of Flower Mound, Arrilda Love and Laura Wilson of Mesquite; 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.
