James Santos

ENNIS – Funeral services for James Santos, 77 of Ennis, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2001 in St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Caldwell as celebrant.
Born on Feb. 2, 1924 in Rice, the son of Antonio and Christina Esquivel Santos, he passed away April 18, 2001 at the Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana.He is survived by his wife Octavia of Ennis; two sons Richard Santos of Ennis and James Santos Jr. of Garland; daughter Rachel Presnell of Garland; four step-children Jimmy Pinales, Olga Bridgewater, Delores Flores and Olivia Jones; three brothers John Santos, Charlie Santos and Johnny Santos all of Ennis; three sisters Anastasia Correa, Timothea Martinez and Christina Sanchez all of Ennis; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gilbert Santos, Anthony Santos, Lloyd Santos and Albert Martinez. Honorary pallbearer was Jeffrey Santos.
Interment followed in St. Josephs Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
Irene Scarborough
Dec. 18, 1919 – April 16, 2001
ENNIS – Graveside services for Irene Scarborough, 81, were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2001 in the Myrtle Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Ricks officiating.
Born on Dec. 18, 1919 in Ft. Worth, the daughter of John L. and Euna E. May Nelson, she passed away April 16, 2001 at the Ennis Regional Medical Center.
Preceded in death by her husband Thomas Neil Scarborough; she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
James C. Allen
April 18, 1906 – April 19, 2001
MILFORD – Graveside services for James C. Allen, 95 of Milford, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2001 at the Wheatland Cemetery in Duncanville with Rev. Glynn Vyers officiating.
Born on April 18, 1906 in Wickes, Ark., he passed away April 19, 2001.
Preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Clark Allen, daughter, son, granddaughter, and grandson; he is survived by son Harold Allen; three daughters Dorothy Landers, Sylvia Hastings and her husband Wayne and Linda Barnes and her husband Don; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
Alice Belle Bean

WAXAHACHIE – Graveside services for Alice Belle Bean were held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2001 at Rosedale Cemetery in Gladewater.
Born on Dec. 19, 1917 near Marathon, the daughter of Fred and Effie Rice, she passed away May 5, 2001.
Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Ray Bean and brother Fredrick Rice; she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Cynthia and Jim Pyeatt of Duncanville and Linda and Darrell Thompson of Waxahachie; son and daughter-in-law Roger and Barbara Bean of Lewisville; three granddaughters Melissa Land, Jennifer West and Kristi Thompson; two great-granddaughters Samantha Land and Sarah West and sister-in-law Nellie Rice of Hamilton.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
Olen Ray Bickerstaff

Born on Dec. 7, 1929 in Mart, he passed away May 9, 2001 in Glenn Heights.
He is survived by his wife Doris Bickerstaff of Glenn Heights; sons Nathan Bickerstaff and wife Sharon of Waxahachie, Timothy Bickerstaff of Red Oak and Donald Bickerstaff and wife Jennifer of Red Oak; brothers Eugene Bickerstaff of San Antonio and John Bickerstaff of Waco; sisters Louise Noah of San Antonio and Mary Underhill of North Carolina; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.
Myron Herbert Major

MILFORD – Funeral services for Myron Herbert Major, 85 of Milford, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2001 at First Baptist Church in Milford with Rev. John Wheatley, Dr. Earl Craig and Jimmy Page officiating.
Born on July 10, 1915 in Itasca, he passed away May 7, 2001 at his home.
Preceded in death by sister Clelialee Page and two brothers B.T. Major and Elbert Major; he is survived by his wife Inez of Milford; two sons James Major and wife Linda of Granbury and Myron Major II and his wife Suzy of Milford; daughter Myrolene May and husband Roger of Golden, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and four sisters Jewell Major, Beth Price, Jane Ellison and Billie Pannill.
Interment followed in the Milford Cemetery under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
Kenneth E. McCollum

ENNIS – Funeral services for Kenneth E. McCollum, 76 of Ennis, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2001 in the Keever Chapel with Rev. Randall McCollum officiating.
Born on Jan. 24, 1925 in Oak Grove, the son of Roy and Esther Lois Hurley McCollum, he passed away May 4, 2001 at his home.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Ennis; two daughters and their husbands Sara and Wilson Erwin of Ennis, Patricia and Stephen McNutt of Dallas; brother Rev. Randall McCollum of Ennis; sister Fay Terry of Lubbock; and two grandsons Kyle and Will Erwin.
Pallbearers were Will Erwin, Lucio Benavides, Charles Ray Spurgeon, Joey Glaspy, David Shaw and Wayne McCollum.
Interment followed in the Waxahachie City Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
