WAXAHACHIE Funeral services for Martha Fitzhugh, 85, were held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 in St. Paul Episcopal Church in Waxahachie.
Born on Aug. 26, 1915 in Baxter, Ark., the daughter of Graham C. and Marian (Loper) Thompson, she passed away Jan. 9, 2001 at Renfro Healthcare Center.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers Graham, Leon and James Thompson and sister Marian Thompson; she is survived by two sons W. Jordan Fitzhugh and wife Karen of Yorktown, Va. and Chuck Fitzhugh and wife Elizabeth of Waxahachie; four sisters Mildred Gage of Little Rock, Bettye Owen of Cumming, Ga., Dorothy Wharton of Tallahassee, Flor. and Jeane Maultsby of Orange; four grandchildren Sydney Ann Culp and husband David, David Fitzhugh, Angela Fitzhugh and Annette Winborne and husband Lynn and two great-grandchildren Amanda and Byron Winborne.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Episcopal Church Building Fund in memory of Martha Fitzhugh and mailed to 308 N. Monroe, Waxahachie, Tx. 75165.
Friday, Jan. 12, 2001 in St. Marys Episcopal Church in Monticello, Ark. with Stephenson-Dearbon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Born on July 20, 1927 in Ellis County, the daughter of Johnnie and Roselee Hanna, she passed away Jan. 10, 2001.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Scott Dyson of Rice; two brothers Johnnie Hanna of Mesquite and Herman Hanna of Richardson; three sisters Shirley Foster of Mesquite, Louise Buckelew of Garland and Joyce Beckham of Waxahachie and two grandchildren Ashlee and Brittney Dyson of Rice.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Preceded in death by his father, wife Emma Inez, son Gerald William and brother Max; he is survived by his mother Jewel Inez Wooley; two daughters Jo Evelyn Dial of Royse City and Robin Rene Shindler and husband Phillip Glenn of Quinlan; brother Clyde Griffith of Avalon; two sisters Betty Frank Arnold of Hope, Ark. and Mary Beth Kirton of Waxahachie; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and special niece and nephew Larry and Brenda Griffith.
Pallbearers were Larry Griffith, Clyde Griffith Jr., B.J. Steele, Joey Kirton, James (Bub) Downe and Russ Lewis.
Interment followed in the Kramer Cemetery in Wylie under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Interment followed in Pine Hill Cemetery, Township-Saylor in Polk City, Iowa under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband Bernard Norton; daughter and son-in-law Ruth Ann and Larry Hodges of Waxahachie; two brothers and sisters-in-law Michael and Lu Ann Bettin of New Jersey and William and Aurora Norton of Arizona; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her husband Pastor Jesse Manes; two sons Paul Timothy Manes and wife Sylene and Jesse Anthony Manes all of Waxahachie; two brothers Bobby Smiler and wife Marian of Georgia and Gerald Smiler and wife Sherry of Cedar Hill; three sisters Susie Morlock of Carrollton, Peggy Hall and husband Boyd of Red Oak and Shirley Daniel and husband Ray of Beckley Heights; and grandchild Dylan Manes.
Interment followed in the DFW National Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
