BRISTOL – Funeral services for Gwenlyn D. Magness, 65 of Bristol, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2001 at the First Baptist Church in Ferris with Dr. Bobby Adams officiating.
Born on July 23, 1935 in Irving, she passed away July 10, 2001.
She is survived by her husband Morris Magness of Bristol; daughter Pashia Blalock of Bristol; sons Donnie Magness of Irving, Lonnie Magness of Red Oak and Ronnie Magness of Bristol; stepson Tommy Magness of Ennis; brother Plumer Brown of Dallas; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and two great-step-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Bristol Cemetery under the direction Green Funeral Home in Ferris.
Linda Marie (Baugh) Northcutt
Sept. 7, 1941 – July 8, 2001
OVILLA – Funeral services for Linda Marie (Baugh) Northcutt, 59 of Ovilla, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lloyd Hughes officiating.
Born Sept. 7, 1941 in Dallas, the daughter of Jake Oscar and Margaret Clorine Shockley Baugh, she passed away July 8, 2001 at Charleton Methodist Hospital.
Preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her husband of 40 years Windell Northcutt of Ovilla; son Andy Northcutt and wife Mickie of Midlothian; daughter Stormy Northcutt-Fuller and husband Donnie of Lancaster; two grandsons Austin Northcutt and Skyler Fuller; five sisters Joann and Kenneth Samford of Mabank, Dorothy and Al Conine of Merit, Dixie and Leon Thompson of Midlothian, Judy Baugh of Lancaster and Jackie and Gerald Vines of DeSoto and brother Jake and Doris Baugh of Red Oak.
Interment followed in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery in DeSoto under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
James Carter Ponder
Aug. 30, 1932 – July 11, 2001
WAXAHACHIE – Funeral services for James Carter Ponder were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2001 in the Waxahachie Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Earl Teeter and Rev. Eldon McNaughton officiating.
Born on Aug. 30, 1932 in Alvarado, the son of Louis and Fannie Ponder, he passed away July 11, 2001.
He is survived by his wife Janell Watkins Ponder; sons Louis and wife Kathy Ponder of Midlothian and Jimmy Hanes of Midlothian; three daughters Brenda Hanes, Terri and husband John Harrington and Karen McDonald all of Midlothian; brother Louis A. Ponder of Alvarado; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Don Garrett, Mark Ponder, Robert Ponder, Ron Herring, Narciso Rosello and Bobby Pinkerton.
Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
Zola Virginia Webb

FERRIS – Graveside services for Zola Virginia Webb, 74 of Ferris, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2001 in the Ferris Memorial Park North with Rev. Steve Hamm officiating.
Born Nov. 9, 1926 in Dallas, she passed away July 9, 2001.
Preceded in death by her husband Benson Mearl Webb; parents Eugene E. and Mary E. Williams; brothers Edwin E. and Alvin L. Williams and her sister Vivian P. Craker; she is survived by her sister Katherine Sadler; son Benson E. Webb and wife Sheryl; daughters Patsy A. Butler and husband David, Nita J. Fagan and husband Morris; seven grandchildren and spouses; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.
Trudie Woods

DAWSON – Funeral services for Trudie Woods, 89 of Dawson, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2001 in the Red Oak Funeral Home Chapel.
Born Jan. 1, 1912 in Caledonia, Miss., the daughter of Elbert Reeves, she passed away July 14, 2001 in Mexia.
She is survived by sons Leon Woods of Purdon and Charles Woods of Dawson; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.
Rose Nell Biggerstaff

WICHITA FALLS – Funeral services for Rose Nell Biggerstaff, 79 of Wichita Falls, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2001 in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
Born Aug. 24, 1921 in Ferris, the daughter of James Wicker and Lola Smith, she passed away Aug. 1, 2001 in Wichita Falls.
Preceded in death by her husband W.W. Biggerstaff; she is survived by her sons Roy McClung Jr. of Seymour and Bill McClung of Georgetown; daughters Linda Morris of Lakeside City and Karla Perez of Richardson; brother Wayne Smith of Maypearl; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
Dorothy Bell Cunningham

FERRIS – Funeral services for Dorothy Bell Cunningham, 74 of Ferris, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001 at Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home chapel in Tyler with Rev. Lisa Swayze officiating.
Born June 23, 1927 in Henderson, a retired licensed vocational nurse having worked in geriatrics at Arlington Memorial Hospital, she passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001. She attended Christ Church Assembly of God in Ferris.
She is survived by her sons Ron Cunningham of Duncanville, Larry Cunningham of Grand Prairie and Randy Cunningham of Ferris; daughter Mary Masek of Ferris; brother John Bell of Chandler; sisters Marie Fisher of Grand Prairie and Mary Lois Burks of San Diego, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Aaron Cunningham, Michael Masek, Matthew Masek, Allen Cunningham, Luke Cunningham and Jonathan Masek.
Interment followed under the direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler.
