WAXAHACHIE Funeral services for Mildred Evelyn Stephenson, 83 of Waxahachie, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Rev. James (Gus) Guthrie, Ph.D., pastor of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church officiating.
Born on Aug. 25, 1917 in Forreston, the daughter of James Morgan and Mary May (Parker) Ward, she passed away Feb. 18, 2001 at Pleasant Manor Living Center.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and two sisters; she is survived by daughter Jan Armstrong and husband Robert of Midlothian; two grandchildren Lisa Elaine Armstrong Hyles and husband Michael and Robert Donald Armstrong Jr.; and two great-grandchildren Chelsea Michele and Cameron Michael Hyles.
Interment followed in the Waxahachie City Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

WAXAHACHIE Funeral services for William Dale Wilburn, 51 of Waxahachie, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 in the chapel of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Bass officiating.
Born on Sept. 19, 1949 in Waxahachie, the son of William Travis and Mary Elizabeth Wray Wilburn, he passed away Feb. 13, 2001 at Parkland Hospital.
Preceded in death by his father in 1996; he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Shelly and George Butcher of Dayton, Kristy and Jeff Stachmus of Pasadena and Brenda and Russell Shults of The Colony; seven grandchildren; mother; two sisters and brothers-in-law Carolyn and Art Haffey of Lancaster and Betty and Steve Hopgood of Waxahachie and uncle Edwin L. Wray of Mobile, Ala.
Interment followed in the Waxahachie City Cemetery under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

WAXAHACHIE Funeral services for Barbara Joan Young, of Waxahachie, were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 15, 2001 in the Waxahachie Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nelson Coffman officiating.
Born on May 19, 1938 in Navarro County, the daughter of James and Thelma Hopkins, she passed away Feb. 13, 2001 at the Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Young of Waxahachie; son Todd Helm of Waxahachie; daughters Kim Wafer and husband Cecil of Waxahachie and Lisa Guthrie and husband Rodney of Italy; brothers Jimmy Hopkins, Robert Hopkins and Fred Hopkins all of Waxahachie; sisters Faye Helton of Mesquite and Lee Lucas of Bryan; grandchildren Derek Wafer and wife Jacquelyn of Mesquite, Britni Wafer of Waxahachie and Justin Guthrie of Italy; and one great-grandchild Ryanna Michelle Wafer of Mesquite.
Pallbearers were Barney Bearden, John Burnette, Douglas Clinkscales, and Jim Devore. Honorary pallbearers were Roger Galie, Neman Helm and Ralph Hayes.
Interment followed in the Waxahachie City Cemetery under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Born on Nov. 16, 1919 in Hearne, the daughter of W.D. and Fanny Wilkerson Blackstone, she passed away Feb. 17, 2001 at the Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton.
She is survived by her husband John of Laguna Park; son and his wife Chris and Betty Wood of Cedar Creek; and five grandchildren Amber, Devin, Alyssa, Cara and Collin.
Interment followed in the Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis.

Born in 1917 in Bristol, the son of Andrew J. and Tina Truitt Davis, he passed away Feb. 12, 2001 in San Diego, Calif.
He is survived by his wife Nell Roberts Davis formerly of Corsicana; two daughters Drs. Linda Caren and Marcia Johnston; five grandchildren and sister Drewise Davis of Dallas.

Born on Aug. 3, 1907 in Ennis, the daughter of John and Francis Valek Miklis, she passed away Feb. 16, 2001 at the IOOF Nursing Home in Ennis.
Preceded in death by her husband Louis Divin, and three brothers Anton, Thomas and Frank Miklis; she is survived by her son and his wife Louis H. and Elsie Maliska of Ennis; daughter and husband Marie and Wayland Dewbre of Ennis; two brothers Joe Miklis and Johnny Miklis both of Kaufman; five sisters Francis Havlik, Agnes Trojacek, Millie Slovacek, Louise Marek and Hattie DeFleming all of Kaufman; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kevin Dewbre, John Smith, Matthew Dewbre, Chris Tibbs, Monte Maliska and Jay Maliska.
Interment followed in the St. Josephs Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis.

Born on March 1, 1946 in Ennis, the son of Alberto and Pauline Andrew Garza, he passed away Feb. 20, 2001 at Providence Health Center in Waco.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister Rosa Zapata and brothers Joe Garza, John Garza and Rudy Garza; he is survived by his wife Benita P. Garza of Waco; daughters Sarah Garza of Fedrick, Okla. and Mary Helen Garza of Fedrick; sisters Margaret Diaz of Dallas, Gloria Diaz of Ferris and Mary Frances Garza of Dallas; brothers Jessie Garza of Fedrick, Okla. and Louis Garza of Corsicana; half brother Jessie Garza of Waco; step-daughters Becky Lopez of Waco, Melinda Ramos of Waco and Paula Arevalo of San Antonio.
Pallbearers were Alvin Molina, Johnny Joe Molina, Urban Molina, Albert Molina, Rudy Molina and Larry Diaz.
