She was born to Lewis and Florine Morgan on June 24, 1940 in Navasota. She lived her early childhood in Galveston. Upon her movement to Texas City in her early teens, she united with Rising Star Baptist Church and was baptized by Rev. D. N. Benford, Sr. She was a faithful member who loved attending Sunday School. A graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1958, she worked at UTMB Galveston as an LVN for several years and at the time of her death she was employed by GCCA Headstart. On December 1, she passed away surrounded by family.
Left to cherish her memories are children, Melvin Jackson, Jr., Rosalyn Renee Jackson and Alicia McCarthy (Richard); parents, Florine and Lewis Morgan; brother, Louis Morgan (Doris); sisters, Bettie Morgan and Carolyn Gary; granddaughter, Kara Allen-Jackson; devoted mother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roberta and Alvera Lyons, Anita Westmoreland and family; devoted friends, Rebecca Matlock and family; Eurolene Crawford, Annie Brooks, and many other caring family members and friends; special thanks to Dr. Suzanne McClure & staff @ the Deke Slayton Cancer Center.

Public Visitation will be Monday, December 2, 2002 from 2:00-7:00 PM at the Glen Dale Augustus Funeral Chapel. Burial ceremony will immediately follow at the Rising Star cemetery, Albert ST., La Marque, TX.

He departed this life October 10 at UTMB Hospital. Born to Joseph and Alice Mozie on July 15, 1949 in Galveston. Freddie was a 1968 graduate of Lincoln High School. He was employed as a longshoreman for 15 years and a maintenance worker for the Texas City Day Nursery.
He is survived by wife, Patrice Mozie, Galveston; children, Tabatha Long, Brooklyn, NY, Shawn Bassett, League City, Latricia Mozie, Arnishia Moore, Khristan Moore all of Galveston; grandchildren, Charlotte Lewis, David Lewis, LaQuita Lewis, Franklyn Booker all of Brooklyn, NY, Darrshawnda Irving, La Marque and Bobby Bassett, League City; siblings, Arthur Smith, Los Angeles, CA, Charles Mozie, Allen Mozie, Dickinson, Floyd Mozie, California, Bobby Mozie, Mary Mozie and Doris Eirven all of La Marque; devoted sister-in-law, Johnnie Mozie; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
