Eddie Thompson

GALVESTON — Eddie 'Christmas Tree' Thompson, 64, received his reward of eternal rest on Friday, October 8, 2004, at his residence.

Visitation will be held today, October 12, 2004, from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2004, in the chapel of at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Louis Simpson, Jr., officiating.

'Christmas Tree' as he was known, was born October 7, 1940, in Rosenberg, Texas to the late Harvey, Sr. and Gracie D. Thompson. A longtime resident of Galveston, he was employed as a laborer with the cotton compress. He was preceded in death by his parents and, wife Elnora Thompson.

He leaves to cherish memories his brothers, Willie B. Thompson (Janet), Darnell Thompson (Janice), Clement Thompson (Sue), John Thompson (Martha) and Harvey Thompson, Jr. (Dessie); three sisters, Josephine Franklin (Willie), Evelyn Lynch (Charles Turner) and Deborah Vallaire (Joseph); devoted friend, Nazarene Davis; friend, Lloyd Cormier; a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

The family would like to thank the Hospice care team for their tender loving care given until he was called home into eternal rest.

SAN CARLOS, CALIFORNIA — Fred Crecy, a 1957 graduate of Central High School, died Friday, October 8, 2004.

His mother, Eula V. Murphy and father Woodrow W. Murphy preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Dawn Crecy; son Paul Crecy both of San Carlos; his brother, William Millican (Neta) of La Marque; sister, Patti Murphy of Galveston; uncle, Fred Johnson of Oakland, California; aunt, Hortense Austin of Freeport, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October, 14, 2004, at White Oaks Funeral Home in San Carlos, California.

Ivory Lee Williams

HITCHCOCK — Mrs. Ivory Lee Williams, formerly of Houston, departed this life, Sunday, October 10, 2004, at her home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at the Mainland Funeral Home Chapel in La Marque where services will begin at 12 p.m., with Pastor Lloyd Caldwell, officiating. Burial will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her sisters, Jewel Darden of Camden and Geneva Walker McGaskey of Dickinson; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Renel Lee Boudreaux, III

DICKINSON — Renel Lee Boudreaux, III, devoted husband, father, grandfather and son, passed away October 7, 2004.

He was born March 18, 1951, in Galveston, Texas. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War, had a long career at Lockheed Martin, and worked in commercial technology sales for COMPUSA.

Renel is survived by his wife, Joyce Boudreaux; daughter Todameka Boudreaux; granddaughter Amira Maruf; parents Renel Jr. and Bernice Boudreaux; brothers Reginald Boudreaux, Ronald Boudreaux, and Michael Boudreaux (Trina); and sister Valerie Boudreaux Haywood, nieces, nephews as well as other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2004, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m., followed by a wake from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m., at Faith United Methodist Church, 2215 Avenue G, Dickinson, Texas. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 14, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church. Renel will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

GALVESTON — Gloria Reyes, 77, of Galveston passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 9, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas, with Brother Otha Dean Bearr officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview cemetery, Galveston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 11, 2004, at the funeral home.

Gloria was born on November 13, 1926 to Armergro and Adelaide Espasito Spauone in Brooklyn, New York. She loved to cook and take care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 44 years. She attended the Galveston Congregation.

preceded in death by her parents, Gloria is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Reyes, of Galveston; daughters, Angela Bright and husband, Grant, of Tuscon, Arizona, Dolores Davis and husband, Lorenzo, of Gainesville, Florida, Adelaide Gambrell and husband, Hugh, of Sylva, North Carolina and Gloria Hopps and husband, Allen, of Galveston; sons, Richard Reyes and wife, Barbara, of Muldoon, Texas and Joseph Armergro Reyes, of Gainesville, Georgia; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 nieces, other relatives and friends. relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Westfall, Richard Westfall, Kenneth Gallo, Lawrence Toussant, LLoyd Freeman and Robert Lee.

Lita Kennedy Holley

Lita Kennedy Holley passed away on October 10, 2004, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas after a courageous battle with lymphoma.

She was born in Mobile, Alabama on March 26, 1943, and spent her "growing up" years in Oak Grove, Louisiana where she graduated from Forest High School. She attended Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. She served as City Secretary for the City of Dickinson from 1974 until 1984 and then was on staff at the Lunar Planetary Institute at NASA from 1986 until 2000. She was a loving, dedicated mother and wife, daughter, sister and friend. As an accomplished soloist her greatest joy was singing to God’s glory and for other celebrations. She recorded an inspirational album "Sing Them Over Again".

She is survived by her husband, Bob Holley, of Dickinson, Texas; two daughters, Lisa Strawn (fiancé, David Spiro), of New York, New York, Maria Morgan (husband, Keith), of Dickinson, Texas; two sons, Kenneth Strawn (wife, Tina) and Mark Strawn, both of Dickinson; two step-daughters, Leigh Thompson (husband, Barry), of Willis, Texas and Lyn Holley, of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Joseph Hamilton, Rachel Spiro, Zachary, Andrew, and Mitchell Morgan, Allison and Trevor Strawn, Madison Strawn, Britney, Austin, and Garrett Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rev. Lolita Kennedy and survived by her father and step-mother, Rev. Murrel and Evie Kennedy, of Oak Grove, Louisiana; one brother, W. Elton Kennedy (wife, Anne), of Mer Rouge, Louisiana; two sisters, Glenna Oldham (husband, Alvin), of Jackson, Mississippi and Rev. Sylvia Grubbs (husband, Dr. Dwight), of Anderson, Indiana; seven nieces, two nephews, and a host of dear friends.

A visitation will be held at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. A service of joyous celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at First United Methodist Church in Dickinson, Texas with services conducted by Pastor Ron Page, Pastor Jim Fierth of Parkgate Community Church in Pasadena, Texas, and Dr. Dwight Grubbs, of Anderson, Indiana. Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet cemetery, in Dickinson, Texas, with Pastor Sharon Page officiating. A memorial service will be held at the Goodwill Church of God in Oak Grove, Louisiana at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2004, with Pastor Jason Strong and Dr. Dwight Grubbs officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to any of the three congregations or to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Jules "Bo" Norman Biron

GALVESTON — Jules 'Bo' Norman Biron, 85, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2004, at UTMB Hospital.

Funeral mass will be 10 a.m., Monday, October 18, 2004, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Bok, OFM, as Celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

The family will receive visitors after 5 p.m., Sunday, October 17, 2004, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m., led by Father Bill Bartniski.

Bo was born December 8, 1918, in Galveston, Texas, a third generation BOI. He graduated from Kirwin High School and from Texas A&M University in 1940, majoring in Petroleum Engineering. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant and sent to the Pacific Theatre. Bo was at Pearl Harbor and survived the Japanese attack of December 7, 1941. Later he participated in the Gilbert and Marshall Islands Campaign. He attained the rank of Lt. Colonel.

Bo's professional career included 10 years with Gulf Oil in high pressure well control techniques. He also served as Vice President of Operations for International Drilling Co. and put oil well drilling operations into Somalia, Libya, Nigeria, Malta, the Netherlands, Iran, the Neutral Zone, and Kuwait. He escaped from Baghdad, Iraqi during the 1958 revolutions when the Bathe Party overthrew the Monarchy. Bo was Chief Engineer for the U.S. Government "Project Mohole", a research and design program under the National Science Foundation to drill through the earth's crust where he helped pioneer the development of the semi-submersible type of floating drilling platforms.

Bo managed the drill ship "Sonda 1" for Falcon Seaboard/Reading and Bates and drilled wells in the North Sea, Mediterranean, and offshore Sinai and Ecuador. He retired from Reading and Bates in 1982.

Mr. Biron was a Registered Professional Engineer, a member of the Galveston Serra Club, American Petroleum Institute, Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, lifetime member of the VFW Post 6378 and of the American Legion, and a member of the AA West Isle Group.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. and Eugenia Biron; his brother, William Biron; and his wife, Kathleen Biron.

He is survived by three daughters: Karen Biron, of Apex, North Carolina, Melissa Livengood and husband, Larry, of Galveston, and Terry Bechtel, of Houston; sons, Beau Biron and wife, Elsie, of Houston, and Yale Biron and wife, Brenda, of Galveston; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; cousin, Gene Stubblefield, of Liberty, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

In his long and adventurous life, Bo was both a mentor and role model for many around the world. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Pallbearers will be Austin Lopata, Patrick Biron, Michael Biron, Larry Livengood, Tony Parsons, and Larry Malloy. Gene Stubblefield will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Our Daily Bread, 2420 Winnie, Galveston, TX 77550, or to the Corps of Cadets Scholarship Fund of the Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, TX 77840-2811.
