Joe Campos Mendoza
SANTA FE Joe Campos Mendoza, 81, of Santa Fe, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at his residence. Joe was born on October 9, 1923, in Mexico and was a lifetime resident of Santa Fe. He was a carpenter in the construction business for Union Carbide for 17 years and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the South Pacific in New Guinea. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ruperto and Josepha Mendoza.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Mendoza of Santa Fe, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Ernestina and Gary Wayland of Tulsa, Oklahoma, JoAnn and Joe Luna of Texas City, Texas, Marie Herrera and Daniel Nieto of Santa Fe, Texas, Venita and Felix Lee of Santa Fe, Texas; son, Joseph Mendoza of Santa Fe, Texas; brother, Robert Mendoza of Santa Fe, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Rebekah Herrera Gerringer, Jay Luna, Brian Wayland, Jackie Luna, Christina Lee Manis, Christopher Lee, Clayton Wayland, Jonathan Luna, MargaretAnn Lee, Jordan Mendoza, Hannah Mendoza; 4 great grandchildren, Jade Moreno, Skylar, Jasmine and Breanna Manis, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2004, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Hitchcock, Texas. The rosary service will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2004, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 10114 Hwy. 6, Hitchcock, Texas. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery, Dickinson, Texas.
Pallbearers are Joey Mendoza, Rebekah Gerringer, Jay Luna, Christopher Lee, Clayton Wayland, Jonathan Luna and Jason Gerringer. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Wayland and Daniel Nieto.

Bruce Wayne Washkuhn
WEBSTER Bruce Wayne Washkuhn, 52, passed away October 13, 2004, in Webster, Texas. He was born August 17, 1952, to Eugene and Leola Washkuhn in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 23 years of service as an operator with B. P. Amoco.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16, 2004, in the parlor of Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas with Reverend Randy Marshall officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Washkuhn; mother, Leola Washkuhn; two step daughters, Kellie Buttes and Wendy Hayes; brother, Richard Washkuhn; three grandchildren, Brettnie, Bart and Johnathon; two nieces, Rebecca Washkuhn and Jeannine Washkuhn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Washkuhn and brother, James Washkuhn.

John Joseph Paul (Jack) Conroy, Jr.
LA MARQUE Mr. John Joseph Paul (Jack) Conroy, Jr. passed from this life Wednesday, October 13, 2004, in Galveston.
Born July 22, 1914, in Union Town, Pennsylvania, Mr. Conroy had been a resident of La Marque since 1993, previously of Hitchcock. He had retired in 1981, after 53 years as a seaman, was a member of the National Maritime Union and served in the U. S. Air Corps.
Survivors include his wife of over 43 years, Anita Conroy of La Marque; sister -in-law and brother -in-law, Mary and John Paul Gordon of El Paso and niece, Beverly Ann Johnson of El Paso.
A private entombment will take place at Grace Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

SAN LEON George M. Dennis, Sr., 51, of San Leon, passed away Monday, October 11, 2004, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2004, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Dennis was born July 28, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a proud union carpenter for 35 years in Galveston County and a member of Carpenters Local #973 where he was a past president. He was a member of the Eagles and a Harley owners group. He loved his family and his Harleys.
Survivors include his wife Loretta of San Leon; son George M. Dennis, Jr. of Clear Lake; brothers Dalta Dennis and wife Nancy of Reno, Nevada, James Barton and wife, Susan of San Leon, Luke Barton of Bedias, Texas, and John Dennis of Orange, Texas; sisters Eva Newsom and husband Wayne of Port Arthur, Janie Gates and husband John of Cold Springs, Faye Dennis of Beaumont, Texas and Nancy Barton of Texas City; grandchildren, Nathan, Devon and Eva; special friends, George Jernigan, Gene King, Don Kay, Ernie Williams, Sherry Boswell and Donna Reb.
Pallbearers will be George M. Dennis, Jr., James Barton, Luke Barton, Wayne Newsom, George Jernigan, and Mike Cooper. Honorary pallbearer is John Dennis.

GALVESTON Roy Dolen was born December 20, 1944. Beloved brother and friend entered Gods Kingdom Monday, October 12. 2004.
He is preceded in death by father, Roy Larkin Dolen and mother, Bonnie Ruth Dolen and brother, Wayne, and is survived by his sister Melinda Dolen Pahl of Galveston, Texas and brother Ronnie Dolen and Jeffrey Dolen of Houston, Texas.
Roy will be deeply missed by all who knew him and all those who enjoyed his unique and remarkable talents as a floral designer.

Neil Heileman
TEXAS CITY David Neil Heileman, of Texas City lost his life-long battle with a congenital heart defect when he entered into peaceful sleep at 10:55 p.m. on Friday.
He was born August 16, 1967, in Alvin and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on September 10, 1983. Neil had a firm faith and a strong confidence in his Creator, Jehovah, until the end of his life. He now rests in peaceful sleep until his Lord Jesus calls for him to stand up in a resurrection to eternal earthly life.
He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Sharlotte Heileman, of Santa Fe; his beloved sister, Dani and her husband, Jeff Musselman, of Webster; his devoted grandmother, Charlene Richmond Barker, of Texas City; the delight of his life, his daughter, Brittany Helena Heileman, of Texas City; as well as, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Erlinda was born on July 6, 1925, to Pedro and Epenina Ybarra Aguilar, in Saspamco, Texas. She loved to play Bingo with her granddaughters and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Galveston.
