Robert Louis Shifflett
Robert Louis Shifflett, 79, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2004, at Woodland Heights Hospital, in Lufkin, Texas.
Mr. Shifflett was born July 17, 1925, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Edgar and Mary Shifflett. He was a resident of Livingston, Texas for 17 years, and formerly of Texas City for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of Local 527 Electrical of Galveston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jack Shifflett; and his sister, Louise McDougle.
Mr. Shifflett is survived by his wife, Opal Shifflett, of Livingston, Texas; his sister, Irene Crisp and her husband, R.L., of Santa Fe, Texas; four brothers, Charles Shifflett and his wife, Joyce, of Texas City, Texas, Glen Shifflett and his wife, Irene, of Santa Fe, Texas, John D. Shifflett and his wife, Vicki, of Santa Fe, Texas, and Jerry Don Shifflett and his wife, Sue, of Santa Fe, Texas.
A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, October 10, 2004, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, Texas. Funeral service will be Monday, October 11, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home, with Rev. Bonnie Eaves officiating. Internment will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
Pallbearers are Larry Roberts, Steve Landriault, Aaron Shifflett, Will Goff, Rodney Crisp and Gary Crisp. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Mills, Sr., James Avant, Pat Barnhill and Ray Landriault.

GALVESTON — Erlinda Duran, 79, of Galveston, passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 8, 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 14th and Broadway, Galveston, Texas, with Father Frank Fabj, celebrant. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 10, 2004, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas with a rosary and vigil to be held at 7:00 p.m.
Erlinda was born on July 6, 1925, to Pedro and Epenina Ybarra Aguilar, in Saspamco, Texas. She loved to play Bingo with her granddaughters and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Galveston.

Castaneda and wife, Debbie, Steve J. Mancillas, Sr. and wife, Francie, Michael J. Lombardi, David W. Nash and wife, Paige, Meghann N. Nash and Renee K. Nash; great grandchildren, Steven J. Mancillas, Jr., Matthew Mancillas, Michael J. Castaneda, Preston Nash, N. Parker Nash, Devin D. Daniels and Abigayle Elice Nash Pruns; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Eugene Allan Craig
Eugene Allan Craig, age 78 of Santa Fe, Texas passed away Friday, October 08, 2004, at his residence.
Eugene was born on December 13, 1925, in Crosby, Texas and was a resident of Santa Fe for 32 years, formerly of Alvin. He was self-employed and was a member of the Christian faith. Eugene served in the United States Army during World War II.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Chester & Pearl Craig & brother, Chester Craig, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Teressa Craig, of Santa Fe, Texas; daughters and sons in law, Kathryn and Joel Evans, Eileen and John Windham, both of Santa Fe, Texas and Peggy Allen, of Clear Lake, Texas; son and daughter in law, Owen and Wanda Craig, of Danbury, Texas; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, October 10, 2004, at Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2004, at Scott Funeral Chapel. Frank (Francis) Patrick Waters
GALVESTON — Frank (Francis) Patrick Waters was born June 6, 1926 in Mt. Kisco, New York and passed away on September 28, 2004 after a long and valiant struggle with Parkinson's disease.
He leaves behind his wife of nearly forty-seven years, Sallie; children, Patricia, Kevin, and Michael; daughter-in-law, Lisa; grandchildren Matthew, David and Shannon Waters; sister and brother-in-law Chandler and Elizabeth (Boo) Stevens; as well as his special family, Ann, Julie and John Somogye. He also leaves behind a cousin, James Waters, of White Plains, New York and other family members in County Sligo, Ireland.
Frank earned his way in life with scholarships to LaSalle Academy in New York and Rensselaer Polytechnic University. While at Rensselaer he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma Societies. He was elected Grand Marshal of the parade and was a star basketball player in the NIT play-offs in Madison Square Gardens. He also graduated from ROTC as a Lieutenant JG in the US Navy. He had a scholarship to Harvard University Business School where he graduated with distinction with an MBA as one of four Baker scholars.
He and his family moved to Houston, Texas in 1970 where he created his own incentive and marketing firm and in 1990 relocated to Galveston where he was closer to his beloved game of golf.
Frank will always be remembered for his wit and wisdom. He and his father before him had a story or joke for every occasion, most of them about the Irish. His children and their friends affectionately called him 'The Chief'. Frank would want donations in lieu of flowers be given either to the Texas Seaport Museum on Galveston Island on whose Board he served, to the Galveston Island Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, Sacred Heart Galveston Church or Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Galveston.
Special thanks go to James Shine, his devoted caregiver of five years whose relationship with Frank was as close as father and son, and to Elsa Augusto, Irma Moore and Lavernon Thomas who helped make his life a little better every day.
A rosary will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2004, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home, led by Father Bill Bartniski. Frank's family will receive visitors from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Frank Fabj as Celebrant.
Pallbearers will be James Shine, Ricky Ross, John Somogye, Randy Covington, Todd Johnson and his Roby nephews. Honorary pallbearers are John Otte, David Higbee, John Stuckey, Johnny Garza, Bill Morrison, Bob Gillebaard, George Sherman, Pete Cooley and Bob White.

James D. Reagan
CANYON LAKE, TEXAS — James D. Reagan, of Canyon Lake, Texas, born August 5, 1941, in Texas City, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2004 in New Braunfels at the age of 63 years.
Mr. Reagan is survived by his loving wife, Lillian M. Reagan of Canyon Lake; son, John Paul Reagan and wife Lori of Kingwood, Texas; mother, Edna Hoff of Dickinson, Texas; step-father, Sid Hoff of Dickinson, Texas; sisters, Shirley Droche of Dickinson, Texas and Sue Jacques of Dickinson, Texas; brother, Larry Reagan of La Porte, Texas, also 2 grandchildren, Cameron Reagan and Hailey Reagan.
Mr. Reagan served in the United States Navy and was a member of the V.F.W Post No. 8800. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 1, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Canyon Lake.
