TEXAS CITY - Homegoing celebration for Sandra "FeFe" Craft, will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2004, at 1 p.m., at the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, in Texas City. The Rev. Norman Haynes will deliver the eulogy. Public viewing will be held before the service from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the church.

GALVESTON - Thelma Hill Cleveland, 86, departed this life on Sunday, August 15, 2004, at Gulf Health Care Center-Galveston.
Visitation will be held today from 4-7:00 p.m. at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon L. Baines, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview cemetery.
Thelma was born July 10, 1918, in LaPorte, Texas. A longtime resident of Galveston, she was a retired elevator operator with Plantowsky's for many years and former director of Live Oak Day Care. She was the former Superintendent of Sunday School, member of the Mission Society, Pastor's Support group and served wherever she was needed and also a member of the 30th Street Social and Charity Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Flenoy Hill and sister, Ora Lee Fanuiel.
She leaves to cherish memories, her daughter, Norma Jean Parron; grandson, Michael W. Bailey both of Los Angeles, California; special cousin, Howard Grant, special friends, Emma Thompson and Dossie Gray; extend families, the Dotsons, Robinsons, Hopkins, Harris and Swindell families along with her Live Oak church family; a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Darrell and Eric Dotson, Gregory Hopkins, Justin Wafer, Connie Waddell and Gary Swindell.

Mr. S. Ward McCollough
Mr. S. Ward McCollough, age 90, of Medina, Texas, died on Friday, August 13, 2004, in a Kerrville hospital.
Mr. McCollough, a resident of Medina for 28 years and a prior resident of Dickinson, Texas, was born on August 19,1913, in Chicora, Pennsylvania, to Olive Merle McCollough and Elizabeth Hannah Garing McCollough.
He served as a Corporal during World War II, in the United States Army. He married
Elva Powell on September 21, 1939, in Butler, Pennsylvania. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2001.
Ward was co-founder of Mineral Oil Refining Company and had been employed for ten years with Pennsylvania Refining Co. He was a member of the Medina United Methodist Church, the Rotary Club, Medina Masonic Lodge #1319, Past District Deputy Grand Master, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, York Rite Mason, Red Cross Constantine, Texas Manufacturing Association, the N.R.A. and was president of the Dickinson School Board for 12 years.
Survivors, daughter, Janice K. McCollough, of Los Angeles, California; sons, Lee W. McCollough and wife, Donna, of Dickinson and Dr. Randy F. McCollough and wife, Paula, of San Angelo; sister, Beryle E. Edwards, of Chicora, Pennsylvania; brothers, Alfred H. McCollough, of Punta Gorda, Florida, Rev. Edward C. McCollough, of Warren, Pennsylvania, and Stanley A. McCollough, of Chicora, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Marla Leissner and husband, Taft, Brian W. McCollough, Nicole E. McCollough, Jennifer E. McCollough, Whitney Parrish, Scott A. McCollough, Anne M. McCollough and Samuel Ward McCollough.

Lloyd George Tolliver
Lloyd George Tolliver (January 9, 1925 – August 14, 2004) went home to be with the Lord. He was a strong and healthy man full of love, wisdom, and an intense love for God. He was born in East Bernard, Texas, to the late Frank and Willie Mae Tolliver. In 1945, he joined the United States Army and later moved to Galveston, Texas, to live out his civilian life. He chose to increase his education by going to Prairie View A&M University and to East Texas Normal College (Texas A&M University-Commerce).
Lloyd united in marriage to the beautiful Emma Nelson, whom he loved and cherished very much. He was a devoted husband and supporter as well as a constant companion at her side. Every weekend they would travel for enjoyment.
Lloyd was an automobile and small engine mechanic instructor at Ball High School, Galveston, Texas. He was an educator for 15 years and retired in 1986. In his retirement, he loved to play with his grandchildren, encouraging men and women to the things of God, and working on lawn mowers & other small engines for family, friends, neighbors and even strangers. Early in his life, Lloyd was a member of Galilee Baptist Church and later joyfully joined Abundant Life Christian Center, where he was an active member.
Preceding Lloyd in death are Frank & Willie Mae (parents); Frank Jr. and Robert Van Tolliver (brothers); Maryetta Moses and Geraldine Johnson (sisters); Destiny Elizabeth Melton (granddaughter).
Lloyd is survived by his lovely and devoted wife, Emma; three lovely daughters, Alice Evans, Kendra Melton (Brian), and Kathy Tolliver Dorsey. He also leaves brothers, Purvis, Willie James (Gussie), Audie (Betty), Edward (Myrtle), Leon Perry (Geraldine); sisters, Mablene Bluntson (Ire) and Lucy Mae Kemp; grandchildren, Dyonteniece Tolliver, Christopher Melton, Cynthia Crowder (Charles); two great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, spiritual sons & daughters.
Visitation will be Tuesday August17, 2004, from 9:30 –11:00 a.m., with Funeral Service following at 11:00 a.m., at Abundant Life Christian Center, 601 Delany Road, La Marque, Texas 77568; 409-935-1606. Internment will be at Grace Memorial Park, in Hitchcock, immediately following services. Refreshments will be served at the Abundant Life Youth Center. Maria Elizabete Ferreira, 48, of Galveston, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2004, at her residence.

Maria was born January 10, 1956, in Belem, Brazil. She worked as an RN, serving for the last few years at UTMB. She also enjoyed traveling and helping people.
She is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Rachel Beasley.
She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Holt and husband, Christopher, of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Maria Beasley, of Galveston; son, John Beasley, of Galveston; sisters, Graca Pinheiro; Nazare Ferreira; Fatima Gurumbar, and Dacialba Ferreira, all of Brazil, Trindade Theriot and husband, Glenn, of Dallas and Albaniza Perkins and husband, Kevin, of Dallas; brother, Joao Ferreira, of Brazil; grandchildren, Ann Beasley, Athena Holt and Alexis Holt; sister-in-law, Nancy Beasley, of Houston; brother-in-law, Billy Beasley and wife, Leo, of Bentonville, Arkansas; former husband, Roy Beasley, of Galveston; best friend, Rosilene Hanson, of Irving, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

TEXAS CITY - Arthur Aristello Alfaro, 65, of Texas City, passed away August 11, 2004, at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 16, 2004, at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 14th and Broadway, Galveston, Texas, with Father John LaBauve, celebrant. Graveside services will follow at Grace Memorial cemetery in Hitchcock. The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2004, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas with a rosary to be held at 7 p.m.
Arthur was born September 3, 1938, to Juan and Maria Molina Alfaro in Los Fresnos, Texas. Known as a great boat mechanic, he was owner-operator of Arthur’s Marine Service and retired after more than 15 years of dedicated service to his customers. He was a member of LULAC and an active supporter of ROTC at Ball High. He loved to play the guitar, fish, was an avid NASCAR fan, a diehard Oiler fan and a diehard Texan fan. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
preceded in death by his son, Michael André Alfaro, Arthur is survived by his wife, Eileen Alfaro of Texas City; daughters, Tina Alfaro Flores and husband, Robert of Galveston and Elizabeth Alfaro Castillo and husband, Ralph of Texas City; son, Arthur A. Alfaro, Jr. and wife, Gerri of Texas City; sisters, Ernestina Yarbrough of Hitchcock and Maria Olivia Roybal of Las Vegas; brothers, Juan Alfaro and wife, Janie of Dickinson , Lupe Alfaro of Florida, Victor Alfaro and wife and Juan Aflaro all of Brownsville; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; stepdaughter, Sharleen Vargas and husband, David of Texas City; stepsons, Bobby Parton of Arkansas and Joey Thompson of Texas City; numerous other relatives and friends.
