WEBSTER - Eleanor A. Jensen, 84, formerly of Freeport, Texas and Dickinson, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, in Webster, Texas.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Hervie "Hab" Jensen; daughters, Sherry Smith of Friendswood Texas and Rosemary Dann of Alvin, Texas; sons, William "Pete" Thompson of San Juan Capistrano, California and Daniel Thompson of Gilroy, California; step-sons, Dan Jensen and Pat Jensen; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of The Easter Star.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 13, 2004, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Forest Park East Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2004, at Forest Park East Chapel with Rev. Joe Bozarth officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East cemetery.

SEABROOK - Douglas Emery Magee, 59, of Seabrook, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 10, 2004. He was a dedicated and nurturing husband, father, papa, brother and friend, who always generously gave all that he had and through it all, he served the Lord. He attended First Baptist Church Pasadena where he was a faithful and devoted deacon.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years Lois Ann Magee and is survived by his children, Tracey D'Ann Mayo and husband Jack, Corey Wayne Magee and wife Monica; grandchildren Emily Katherine Mayo, Connor Douglas Mayo and Trinity Willow Magee; brother, Claude Magee; sister, Anita Magee Ross; numerous other loving relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, August 13, 2004, at Rosewood Funeral Home, 3939 Pasadena Blvd. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2004, at First Baptist Church Pasadena, 7500 Fairmont Pkwy, with Rev. Don Piper officiating.

Woodie Albert "Pee Paw" McElduff, Sr.
TEXAS CITY - Woodie Albert "Pee Paw" McElduff, Sr., 78, of Texas City passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston. Woodie was born March 13, 1926 in Marianna, Arkansas. Woodie was a guard at Union Carbide retiring after 30 years of service, served in the U. S. Marines during WWII, member of AARP, Senior Friends, American Legion Post 89 Texas City and regularly attended the Alvin Opry.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, August 13, 2004, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2004, at the funeral home with Rev. Carl Strickland officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Park East in Webster, Texas.
Woodie is survived by his wife Thelma McElduff of Texas City; daughters and sons-in-law Rita Ann and Jim Goodwin of Iowa Park, Texas and Sandra Gail and Hristos Selindis of Texas City; son and daughter-in-law Woodie and Jacquelyn McElduff, Jr. of Columbia, Missouri; his little friend "Oscar"; brother Harold Lynn McElduff of Paragould, Arkansas; five grandchildren Heather Tarman, Theresa Key, Christina Vickers, Michael Selindis and Jeremy McElduff; three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy McElduff, Jeff Tarman, Justin Key, Aaron Vickers, Michael Selindis and Jim Godowin. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger "Bud" Brown and Milton "Pete" Brown.

Dorothy Rogers
WICHITA, KANSAS - Dorothy Rogers, 80, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Mrs. Rogers was born December 29, 1923, to Douglas and Callie Petty in Teague, Texas. She was a resident of Wichita, Kansas for four months and was formerly of both Dallas and Austin, Texas. Prior to that, she lived in the Texas City community for over twenty years. She and her husband Paul Rogers owned several businesses in the Gulf Coast area during the 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s including Rogers’ Fine Shoes. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Texas City during that time period as well as a supporter of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School.
Mrs. Rogers was especially proud of her commitment to the Civil Rights. She along with her husband Paul Rogers were active members of the Civil Rights Movement throughout the 60’s in the Texas City-La Marque Area.
Mrs. Rogers maintained a career in Fashion Retailing through out her life-following her husband’s death in 1970; she closed their joint businesses and moved to Austin, Texas where she enjoyed a long career with Leon’s of Texas, a premier specialty store group.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Paul Rogers.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her two sons and their families, Doug and Reva Rogers of Galveston, Texas; Lee Rogers and Omega Ortegon of Wichita, Kansas and their sons Yves Rogers of Dallas, Texas and Adrian Rogers of Wichita, Kansas.
Service will be Saturday, August 14, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Galveston, with Father John Paul Flajole, O.F.M. officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 13, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, Texas. Entombment to follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic cemetery in Dickinson.
Pallbearers will include her two grandsons, Yves Rogers and Adrian Rogers.

6/3/1956 – 8/10/2004
LEAGUE CITY - Gregory Alan Ruzicka of League City, Texas, born June 3, 1956 in Abington, Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly early Tuesday August 10, 2004, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital.
He is survived by Carol, his loving wife of 21 years; their three children, Sara Elizabeth, Joseph Stephan, and Michael Gregory; his parents, Joseph and Joan Ruzicka; and his sisters Kris Dudrow and Linda Heizer. Always known for his desire to help others, Greg became a Fairfax City volunteer firefighter at age 18 and after many years of active service, rose to the respected position of Fire Chief.
Greg graduated from Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, Virginia, received his A.A. from Northern Virgiania Community College, his B.S. degree from George Masen University and his MBA from Marymount University.
Greg worked in the medical field for over 25 years. He came to Texas two years ago from Bel Air, Maryland to fill a position at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. In Maryland he served the community for over 14 years at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He began his career in the medical field at Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia.
Greg has always been actively involved with his children’s activities and the community. Coaching soccer and baseball, scorekeeping at ball games, manning the concession stand, making endless trips to the local theater and back, and eagerly filming his children performing were just a few ways Greg constantly showed his love and devotion to his children. In addition to being to being a loving husband, father, son and brother, Greg was a wonderful man and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Public visitation will be held at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, Texas on Friday, August 13, 2004, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2004, at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1612 E. Walker, League City, Texas, 77573 with The Reverend Eugene Cargill, M.S. officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.

Richard Sibley
CRYSTAL BEACH - Richard Sibley, owner and operator of Metalfab, HVAC business in Beaumont for over twenty years; died August 10, 2004, at UTMB in Galveston. He was a long time resident of Beaumont, and retired to Crystal Beach 16 years ago.
Richard was born in 1923 in Oldtown, Maine. His mother died when he was only five years old and he was placed in an orphanage in Bangor, Maine. He joined the US Marine Corp as a young man and was eventually stationed in Port Arthur. During this time in Texas he met and married
Carolyn Schlicher in 1945.
Richard is preceded in death by Carolyn Sibley, wife of 40 years. He is survived by his loving companion, Diane; his three children and their spouses Gary Sibley, of Beaumont, Rick and Jennifer Sibley of Petaluma, California and Sharon and John Fuller of Lumberton; and three grandchildren Ty Fuller, Josh Fuller and Jordan Sibley. He is also survived by two brothers, Francis and Robert and two half-brothers, Loren and Galen.
Richard was a member of Bay Vue United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at the church at 11 a.m., under the direction of Broussard's, 134 W. Buccaneer, Winnie.

GALVESTON - Donald Wayne Volkots, 63, passed away on July 30, 2004. Born in Buffalo, New York, June 7, 1941, Donald moved his family to Texas in 1976. He was better known as "T.V. Don".
He leaves behind his wife, Patricia; son, David and wife, Ann; daughter, Regina; three grandchildren, Amber, Brittany and Amanda.
A memorial service will be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, Saturday, August 14, 2004, at 2 p.m. with a reception to be held afterwards at the funeral home.
