He is survived by wife, Alice K. Gratzfeld Bains of Kerrville.
Graveside services will be Friday, July 30, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park East cemetery in League City, TX. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapel of Kerrville.

GALVESTON - Norman O. "Smitty" Smith, 84, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
"Smitty" was born May 12, 1920, in Ashland, Wisconsin. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and received his honorable discharge October 18, 1945, as a Staff Sergeant. He was employed as Warehouse Foreman at the Monsanto Refinery, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Central Christian Church of Galveston.
preceded in death by his parents, wife, Anne Catherine Antichevich Smith, wife Charlotte Robinson Smith and son, Norman O. Smith, Jr., "Smitty" is survived by his daughter, Cathy Gallagher of Houston; sons, Larry M. Smith of League City and Michael A. Smith of Galveston; 4 grandchildren; sister, Irma Seemuth of Superior, Wisconsin; other relatives and close friends.

TEXAS CITY - Mrs. Odessa Randle Sanford departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Danforth Gardens in Texas City.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2004, at the Mainland Funeral Home Chapel in La Marque. There will be no wake. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2004, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 819 Martin Luther King Blvd. in Texas City. Rev. Leonard Clark, officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park cemetery in Hitchcock.
Mrs. Sanford, a homemaker, was born August 20, 1925, in Wharton County, Texas to Jimmie and Addie Randle. She was a longtime resident of Texas City and was an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church before her health failed.
preceded in death by her daughter, Flora Sanford Columbus, she is survived by her children, Alfred Sanford (Bobbie) of Texas City, Leroy Sanford (Shirley M.) of La Marque and Dorothy Jackson (Jessie) of Texas City; her sister, Mary Martin of La Marque; son-in-law, Karl Columbus of Texas City; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

TEXAS CITY - Trinidad Castro Ramos, 79, of Texas City, departed her earthly life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Danforth Gardens.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2004, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Texas City with Father Tom Ponzini officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2004, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Ramos was born June 7, 1925, in Galveston, Texas. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. Mrs. Ramos was known for her exceptional "green thumb". She was diligent in her garden and loved flowers and other plants. Other favorite pastimes included sewing for her family and friends and shopping for antique glassware.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Rudolph "Rudy" Ramos, of Texas City; sons Rudolph Ramos Jr. and wife Jeanene and Alfredo "Fred" Ramos, Sr. and friend Rose Avila; daughter Lydia Stout and husband, Jim; brother Manuel Castro and wife Stella; grandchildren, Alfredo "Fredo" Ramos Jr. and wife Ann, Lisa Duran and husband Jose, Rachel Ramos, Joe Stout, Frankie Stout, Tina Bennett and husband Jeff, Jimmy Stout, and Rene Ramos; great-grandchildren Rudy Joseph Ramos, Kyle Stout, Kameron Stout, and Jacob Lee Duran; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ida Mae was born June 21, 1928, to Alfred and louella King Edwards in Ringo, Louisiana. She was employed in the housekeeping department at UTMB where she retired after 27 years of dedicated service. After her career at UTMB she took care of the home of Dr. and Mrs. Woodson for 18 years. She was a very loving and caring person and will be greatly missed by her family.

WEBSTER - Joseph "Joe" Philomeni Bocco passed away on July 26, 2004, in Webster, Texas.
Joe is survived by his brothers; Mike, Jr., Louis, Johnny and Tony. He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews along with numerous friends and family. GALVESTON - Robert Alan "Bobby" Bayne, 39, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004, at his residence in Galveston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2004, in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston, with Pastors, Bo and Sherry Wheaton of the New Life Christian Center, officiating. Burial will be held Friday, July 30, 2004, at Grace Memorial Park cemetery in Santa Fe, Texas. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Bobby was born February 23, 1965, in Dodge City, Kansas. He was next to the youngest in a family of six children. He worked as a grocery sacker for Randall’s Food Markets, Inc. until such time that his ill health prevailed. Bobby was always a very loving and caring person. He was very giving of himself and his unselfish ways allowed him to help others. Bobby loved all kinds of animals and always had some kind of pet at home. He was a loving son and brother and he will be deeply missed.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Frank O. Bayne, Jr. and also one of his brothers, Jim Bayne. He leaves behind many fond memories with his loving family, mother, Joan L. Bayne and loving companion, Joe Ordiway of Galveston; and his brothers and sister, Steven Bayne and wife, Diane of Hitchcock, Texas, Cynthia Lynn Goldstein and husband, Russell of California, Scott Bayne and Chris Lynch, both also of Galveston. Sharing in his loss, also, are Bobby’s nieces and nephews, Christina, Victoria, Veronica, Jasmine, Shawn and David, one great-niece, Sierra, a host of other loving family and friends. He will be greatly missed, but his memories will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, always.

GALVESTON - Roland E. Bolden, 51, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2004, at the Bay Oak Care Center in Texas City.
Visitation will be held today, July 28, 2004, from 4-8 p.m. at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2004, at the Church of the Living God (1516 35th), with Elder Clinton Chriswell, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview cemetery.
Roland was born September 1, 1952, in Galveston. He was a 1970 graduate of Ball High School and later attended Prairie View A&M College. He loved sports and participated in many of them. He also was a member of the Church of the Living God.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren G. Bolden.
He leaves to cherish memories of his life his mother, Helen Bolden; daughters, Latricia Sells (Travis), Angel Michelle Bolden; grandchildren, Moriah, Charity and Laurryn Sells; brother, Rodney W. Bolden; uncle, Frank Jackson; cousins, Ethel Bell, Charlene Searcy and Aaron Jackson, III; other relatives and friends.
