DICKINSON - Mary Nature Foucheaux, 84, passed away July 23, 2004, at her home in Dickinson, Texas. She was born on April 18, 1920, in Galveston, Texas.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 26, 2004, at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. with a vigil to be held at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church with Father Paul Felix officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Foucheaux, Sr.; her brother, Bernard Marlow; her sisters, Agnes Murphy, Annie Hibbitts, and Clara Benson.
She is survived by her daughter, Merilyn Foucheaux of Dickinson; her son, Daniel Foucheaux, Jr. and his wife, Meg of Alexandria, Virginia; her brother, Alex Marlowe of Texas City; and sister, Julia O’Connor of Galveston.

Billie Jo Nikkel
DICKINSON - Billie Jo Nikkel, 70, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004, at her residence in Dickinson, Texas. Billie was born March 17, 1934, to the union of William Henry Neeley and Elizabeth Neeley in Sentinel, Oklahoma. She graduated from Dill City High School and then attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma for two years.There she met her husband and they were married
on May 28, 1955. She was a loving wife of 49 years and an active member in the Baptist Churches at the various locations where they lived in Oklahoma, Texas and California. For the last 28 years she was a resident of Dickinson, Texas and a member of the Dickinson First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Dickinson, Texas on Sunday, July 25, 2004, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Randy Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East cemetery in Webster, Texas. Visitation will be held at the Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson on Saturday, July 24, 2004, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Lorn D. Nikkel; son, Michael Scott Nikkel and wife, Grace and grandson, Christopher, all of Sammamish, Washington; daughter, Cynthia Ann Newpher and husband, Jeff and granddaughter Abigail of Seabrook, Texas; one brother, Linden Neeley of Norman, Oklahoma; three sisters, Doris Beck of Cordell, Oklahoma; Ruth Kate Makintubee, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Doris Ann Roach of Wapanuka, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Neeley, Elizabeth Neeley and Beulah Neeley; brother, Stanley Neeley; sister, Lola Phillips, and sister, Edna Fairless.

James Hawkins Daniels Jr.
PORT BOLIVAR - Master of sarcasm and wit, Jim Daniels passed away peacefully at his home July 20, 2004. He had family at his side, and was comfortable. A long time resident of Port Bolivar, Jim will be remembered as an avid NFL, NASCAR fan and fisherman, with a love for the casinos and cooking. His passion to cook began in the army and found him many friends throughout his life. Jim was born May 25, 1940, in Houston, Texas.
He is preceded in death by father James Hawkins Daniels, Sr. and mother Leona. He leaves behind Stephanie Daniels Burch and husband Gary, James Hawkins Daniels, III and wife Marie; grandson Jasper Moon Daniels; granddaughter Kira Joy Daniels and former wife Barbara Jordan.
Jim retired as a cook from the TKY fraternity. Working with the boys at TKY was a job that Jim truly enjoyed and looked forward to sharing stories and shooting pool with the guys. We would like to extend a special Thank you to Cindy Mc Allister and Tim Molina with Hospice Care Team for being so special to Jim in his final days. Also a special Thank you to Francis "Cooter" Nailer, Bill and Elaine Burns, Aurora Krichick, Barbara Jordan and the North Jetty Gang for all their love and support.

LA MARQUE – Jesus Eduardo Ramos, 35, of La Marque, died Thursday, July 22, 2004, in an automobile accident in Columbus, Texas.
Born June 1, 1969, in McAllen, Texas, Mr. Ramos was a "True Cowboy", as evident by his cowboy hat that he was often seen wearing. He worked for Texas Stretch Trucking Company as a Truck Driver. In his time off the road, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family, especially his wife and children. The entire Ramos family are members of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque.
Mr. Ramos is survived by his wife of 13 years, Edna Marilou Ramos; sons Erik and Edward Ramos; daughter Priscella Ramos; parents Ernesto and Maria Ramos of Galveston; sister Angelica Ramos of Galveston; brothers Oswaldo Ramos and wife Daniella of La Marque, and Marcelo Ramos and wife Elia of Houston; father-in-law and mother-in-law Margarito and Maria "Cha Cha" Salinas of Galveston; and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Oswaldo Ramos, Marcelo Ramos, Romel Ramos, Eloy Ramos, Layo Salinas, Conrado Lopez, and Lupe Salinas.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. today at Queen of peace Catholic Church in La Marque, Monsignor Culver officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. A prayer vigil was held Friday at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 9 - 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

HOUSTON - Julianne Marsh, 35, of Houston, Texas, passed away July 20, 2004 in Houston. She was born on June 12, 1969, in Houston, Texas to William Allen and Julia Nan Fulton Smith.
Julianne was preceded in death by her father William Allen Smith.
She is survived by her son, Ian Smith; two daughters, Jozelle and Julia Macy Marsh; her mother, Nan Overton; her sister, Janis Stevens; her grandparents Jozelle Fulton and Pauline Smith.

TEXAS CITY - Susan Selman, 60, of Texas City, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004, at her residence.
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m., Monday, July 26, 2004, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Tollison officiating.
Mrs. Selman was born November 26, 1943, in Seattle, Washington. She was a retired teacher. During her 28 years at T.C.I.S.D., she touched many students’ lives. She had been a contributing editor for the Texas City Sun.
She is preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Murlin and Ruby Selman, and her brother-in-law, Jerry Selman.
Survivors include her husband Glenn Selman of Texas City; parents Mr. and Mrs. Richard Berkefeld; son Scott Selman and wife Shannon Reynolds; daughter Julie Stanton and husband Kevin; brothers-in-law Paul Selman and George Selman; and 6 grandchildren.

TEXAS CITY - Mr. David Brooks, Jr., affectionately known as "Bubber" departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2004, at the Mainland Funeral Home Chapel in La Marque. A wake will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Greater Barbour's Chapel Baptist Church, 801 Martin Luther King in Texas City. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, at the church with Pastor James E. Brown, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park cemetery in Hitchcock.
Mr. Brooks was born October 28, 1919, in Egypt, Texas to David Sr. and Raddie Beatrice Tanner Brooks. He was employed at Monsanto Corporation in Texas City until his retirement; a member of Greater Barbour's Chapel Baptist Church; Pride of Texas City Masonic Lodge #193 F & AM; Labor Local #116.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Minnie Mae, Dorothy Lee, Leona, S. L., Bruce and Victor.
His legacy of love and devotion will forever linger in the hearts of his beloved and devoted wife of 66 years, Dora L Brooks of Texas City; his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Freddie Morgan, Jr. of Dickinson; his loving sister, Reva Lee Hurd of La Marque; brothers, A. C. Brooks (Patsy Ruth) and Odis Brooks (Ellen) both of Egypt; four grandchildren, Patricia Ann Wright, Freddie Morgan III, Carlton James Morgan and Anthony Wayne Morgan; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members; his Barbour's Chapel Church Family; and many friends.
