TEXAS CITY - Lloyd Monroe Burch, 61, of Texas City, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Mainland Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with Pastor Doug McBrayer officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East cemetery in Webster. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Burch was born April 1, 1943, in Winnfield, Louisiana. He graduated from Texas City High School and was a machinist for Amoco Chemical (BP) for 31 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Burch; his mother and step-father, Lurline and Sam Gates; and his brother, Jerry Malone of Omaha, Nebraska.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Nancy Burch, of Texas City; son Wade Burch and wife Lisa of Murray Hill, New Jersey; daughter Missy Burch of Dallas; brother James Burch and wife Susan of Santa Fe, Texas; sister Geraldine Curry of Buffalo, Missouri; mother-in-law Dorothy Gray of Lipan, Texas; brother-in-law Henry Walker and wife Donna of Lipan, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Lloyd was a wonderful husband, father, son and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all.

LA MARQUE - Mae Prunty, 87, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at her residence. Mrs. Prunty was born July 5, 1917, in Driscoll, Texas, to Robert Lee and Carrie McMullin. She was a resident of La Marque since 1957. She was a member of the LaMarque VFW Ladies Auxiliary; a member of the 5400 VFW Post; member of 8248 VFW; a member of COOTIES; and she volunteered at Mainland Center Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Orson Prunty; and her granddaughter, Jeannette Pack.
Mrs. Prunty is survived by her two sons, Douglas R. Pack and his wife Sheryl of Mexia, Texas and Charles Pack and his wife Glendene of Texas City, Texas; one sister, Doris Elkins and her husband Everette of La Marque, Texas; two brothers, Jack McMullin of Harlington, Texas and Billy McMullin of Victoria, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, Ronnie Nesloney and his wife Darlene, Sandy Bleimeyer and her husband John, Debbie Bleimeyer and her husband Rudy, Carrie Bleimeyer and her husband Obie, Brenda Pack and Chuck, Danny Nesloney and his wife Geanie, Cheryl Tumbleson and her husband Buddy, Doug Pack, Jr. and his wife Sandy, C.J. Pack, David Pack, Christina Pack, Catherine Pack, Curtis Pack and his wife Crystal and Michelle Pack; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 22, 2004, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Funeral service will be Friday, July 23, 2004, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Leon Maxwell officiating. Internment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

HITCHCOCK - Ms. Mary Ann Washington Rodgers departed this earthly life Thursday, July 15, 2004, at her home.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. (today) Thursday, July 22, 2004, at the Mainland Funeral Home Chapel in La Marque followed by a wake from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2004, at La Marque Chapel Church of God in Christ, 4 South Algeria St. in Texas City. Supt. Harry Allen, pastor, Elder Bennie Anderson, officiating and Elder Clifford Brown, eulogist. Burial will follow at Mainland Memorial cemetery in Hitchcock.
Mary, a home health provider, was born February 7, 1953, in Midland, Texas to Leroy Booker T. Washington, Sr. and Mary Eloise Hunter. She attended Dickinson High School and was a member of James Temple Church of God in Christ.
She is preceded in death by her father; sister, Betty Harvey; a niece, Vickie Woodard and a nephew, Roy Washington, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Tony D. Washington, Anthony D. Washington, Walter C. Washington and Ramone L. Cross all of Hitchcock; her

ALVIN - Shiela Kay Malfa, 37, of Alvin, died Monday, July 19, 2004, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital.
Born January 8, 1967, in Texas City, Shiela was a loving mother and wife, and a good friend to everyone she met. She was of the Methodist faith.
preceded in death by her grandfather Wade Trammel, Shiela is survived by her husband of 15 years Vincent M Malfa; daughter Kathryn Ann Malfa; son Christopher Joseph Malfa; father Jimmy Bishop of Missouri City; mother Sandy Trammel-Smith of San Augustine; brothers Brett Disiere of Santa Fe, Scott Disiere of Santa Fe, and Jimmy Bishop, Jr. of Houston; grandmother Laurie Trammel of San Augustine; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Knape, Mark Tully, Scott Disiere, Mark Trammel, John Trammel, and Gary Trammel.
Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Friday July 23, 2004, at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 I-45, Texas City, Dr. Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park cemetery in Hitchcock. The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William (Bill) Norman Floyd, Sr.
HOUSTON - William (Bill) Norman Floyd, Sr., 93, was born December 18, 1910, and passed away on July 14, 2004, after a brief illness. A native of Norman, Oklahoma and resident of Houston for 65 years, Mr. Floyd was a graduate of the College of Engineering, School of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
He began his career in architecture with Malcolm Moore Architects of Oklahoma City during the Depression. Following his work in Oklahoma, he worked as a junior engineer for the U.S. Engineers Office at Ellington Air Base and Galveston, Texas. During World War II, Mr. Floyd served as a Captain with the Seventh Air Force of the Army Air Corps. He was commanding officer of the Headquarters Squadron of the 57th Air Group and Head of Construction and Utilities for air bases at Agana, Guam and Yontan, Okinawa. During the Korean conflict, Mr. Floyd served as Chief of Master Planning of the Northeast Air Command of the USAF. After his service to his country, he returned to Houston and continued his practice of architectural development.
He was the principal architect in the development of Lindale Park and Robindell neighborhoods in Houston and was Vice President of Memorial Bend Utility and Development Companies. He served as an editorial consultant for the architectural publications of New Homes Guide, Vacation Homes and Living Now. He was the President of Monroe Construction and, Robindell Lumber Companies, Intercontinental House and Travel Masters.
A long time supporter and volunteer in many organizations, he served as the National Vice President of Lambda Chi Alpha and traveled across the country to many universities where he shared his principles for success and motivational speaking with students. He was a member of Rotary International -River Oaks Chapter, and a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Nadeen (Deene) Bouldin Floyd; son William Norman Floyd, Jr., M.D. and wife Susan Ball Floyd; daughter Vicki Floyd Keltner and husband Neil Lynn Keltner, granddaughter Hannah Brice Keltner; son Craig Monroe Floyd, M.D. and wife Sue Degraw Floyd, grandson John Allen Floyd and granddaughter Julia Elin Floyd; and son Brent Alan Floyd and wife Marsha Hunt; and his nieces Frances Floyd Thomas and Virginia Lee Floyd.
The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation for the care and devotion of Alfreda Queen, Joyce Ross, Glenda Iyamu, Odette Wilson, Chandra Eche, and Montina Queen, Arnell Antwine and Paula Gonzales.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2004, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road, Houston, Texas with The Rev. John R. Bentley, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service, at a reception in the Bagby Parish Hall of the church.

LEAGUE CITY - Carmen Segura, 80, passed away July 19, 2004, in League City, Texas. Carmen was born February 26, 1924, in Sweetwater, Texas.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Mr. Paul Segura Sr.; daughter, Patricia (Thomas) Gonzales; son, Paul (Annie) Segura Jr.; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great- grandchild; sisters, Virginia Lozano, Mary Lozano; brother, Vincent and Manuel Gonzales. She is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.

Frances M. Vuckovich
GALVESTON - Frances M. Vuckovich was born in Italy, Texas on September 29, 1922. She lived in Galveston most of her life and worked for GISD and Galveston College until her retirement. She passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004, at her home.
Survivors include children Mimi and John Alcorn of Angleton, Mitchell and Nancy Vuckovich of Dallas and Norma and Jim Yeatman of Galveston; two sisters; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In the last years of her life she was blessed with loving friends Tina Blume, Rose M. Daniels and Yvonne Wilson.
Services were held in Mertens, Texas on Tuesday, July 20, 2004.
