Lanette (Nette) Williams Pittman
MISSOURI CITY - Lanette entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2004, at Memorial Hermann Fort Bend Hospital in Missouri City, Texas. Nette was born on August 14, 1978, in Galveston to Gloria Williams.
Nette is preceded in death by her mother Gloria Ann Williams and grandmother Mrs. Emma. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Bruce Pittman Sr.; son Bruce Pittman, Jr.; daughter Stepheny Pittman; sisters Dorothy (Punkin) Mason, Michell Williams; brother Anthony Williams; 3 nieces, Shaunice Williams, LaChelle Harris, Zoria Williams; 4 nephews Marc Tyler, Terrell Harris, Troy Hatter, Jr. LaMar Williams, Jr.; grandfather Samuel Rivers of Galveston and devoted cousin Jiceward Minix of Galveston.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Mainland Funeral Home in La Marque. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with services to follow.
Frank F. Russo, Sr.
GALVESTON - Frank F. Russo, Sr., 87, passed away Monday, July 12, 2004, at UTMB Hospital. He was born on August 6, 1916, in Dickinson, Texas. He was a member of the Dickinson VFW Post 6378, ILA Local 307, Elks Lodge #126, a State Officer for the Texas State Firefighters and was a Captain for the Galveston Fire Department. He was also a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church for over 40 years and a WWII Veteran in which he was the recipient of the Bronze Star.
He is survived by his wife Catherine A. Russo; sons Joseph F. Russo and wife Pamela, Frank F. Russo, Jr. and wife Darrelyn, Anthony R. Russo and wife Nancy, Michael A. Russo and David J. Russo and wife Mary; grandchildren Anne and David Russo, Nick and Brittany Russo, Francesca, Leah and Joseph Russo, Michael and Jonathan Russo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2004, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 16, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1804 69th St., with Father Bill Bartniski officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Joe Ray Russo, Joe Russo, Jr., Kenneth Russo, Joseph Russo, Johnny Russo and Robert Heifner.

Edythe Aurelia Tanner
SANTA FE - Edythe Aurelia Tanner, 93, of Santa Fe, Texas, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother entered into eternal rest on July 10, 2004. She is fondly remembered for her love of the Lord and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Homer R. Tanner, granddaughter Dawn, five brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Barrow; four granddaughters, Dee Ann Nagengast, Debbie Barlow, Diana Llorente, Danna Pearson, and their husbands. She is additionally survived by 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 12, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, Texas. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor John Elliott officiating. Internment will be at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, Texas, with graveside services held at 1 p.m. on July 15, 2004.

Evelyn Allen Plattenburg
GALVESTON - Mrs. Evelyn Allen Plattenburg answered the Lord's call on Sunday, July 11, 2004, at the blessed age of 102.
She is the eldest of ten siblings born to the late Square and Roberta Moses Allen in Huntsville, Texas. Her parents died at an early age and Mrs. Plattenburg became the caretaker for her siblings in hard times.
After moving to Galveston, she continued to care for family members through three generations. She was a seamstress for many years and was a musician who loved to play the piano. She played beautifully. Mrs. Plattenburg is also the oldest family member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Galveston.
Mrs. Plattenburg will be remembered for her love for God, Jesus and family. She has always put others needs before her own, and she has been a blessing to many. God blessed her to have strength to keep the family together. Though many will weep her loss, the angels rejoice, greet her at the gates of Heaven and welcome her to be with The Lord.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, and devoted son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome C. Jefferson of La Marque, Texas; one sister, and her last existing sibling, Mrs. Rosa Lee Byars of Galveston; one grandson, Mr. Charles Turner of Texas City, Texas; one granddaughter, Mrs. Connie Turner of Galveston; one great granddaughter, Shankeshia Turner of Galveston; one great niece and her husband, Mrs. Novella and Ivory Smith of Texas City; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. A.S. Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview cemetery, Galveston, Texas.
Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at the chapel of Fields Funeral Services.

Josephine Williams Cagnolatti of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2004.
Beloved mother of Rick Cagnolatti and Michelle Vaughn, both of Santa Fe, Texas. Daughter of Alberta Lacour Williams and the late Wilmer Williams. Sister of Mary Lange, Gertrude Roussell, Bertha Lemond, Richard, Louis, James, David and Jules Williams. Also survived by 12 grandchildren.
Aged 55 years, a native of Galveston, Texas and a resident of Mandeville for the past 2 years. Louise Robinson Williams "Granny"
WEST TEXAS CITY - Mrs. Louise Robinson Williams was born June 7, 1926, in Edna Texas to Webster Robinson and Mary Magdalene Adams.
She later moved to Galveston with her three children Darlene, Eddie and Bobby. She was united in marriage in 1952, into a Holy union within that union was born two children Michael and Donzetta Williams. Preceding her in death are her parents, sister, husband and two sons.
Mrs. Williams leaves to cherish her memory one sister Johnnie Mae Giles; two loving daughters Darlene L. Jefferson and Donzetta W. Hunton both of Texas City Texas and one loving son Michael (Yolanda) Williams of Texas City Texas and 20 grandchildren, 32 great grand children, 7 great- great grand children 7 a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2004. There will be no wake. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2004. Both services to be held at the Mainland Funeral Home Chapel in La Marque. Burial will follow at Mainland Memorial cemetery in Hitchcock.

LA MARQUE - O. D. Belcher, 82, of La Marque passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Belcher was a resident of La Marque since 1949, retired from Union Carbide in 1979, served in the U. S. Army and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Hitchcock. Mr. Belcher was born October 12, 1921, in Morgan, Texas to Oran Dudley and Wilma Margaret Belcher.
Mr. Belcher was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Mildred Belcher; he is survived by his wife of 65 years Margaret A. Belcher of La Marque; daughter Barbara B. Locher of Anchorage, Alaska; sons Robert K. Belcher of Midland, Texas, Stephen D. Belcher and wife Jean of Plano, Texas; sister Nancy Pickens and husband Joe of Lorena, Texas; brother Wintz Belcher and wife Annie of Cleburne, Texas; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, July 13, 2004, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Hitchcock, with Dr. David Kirkaldy, Lay Vicar, and Father Jon Sonnen officiating. Entombment to follow service at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

TEXAS CITY - Oma Farrow Ware, 91, of Texas City, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Mainland Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with Rev. Orville Pugh officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ms. Ware was born August 18, 1912, in Laneville, Texas to J. T. and Rosa Farrow and had lived in Texas City since 1944. She was a charter member of College View Baptist Church and served in many capacities for the church. She was retired from the shipping dept. of Union Carbide.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hayden O. Ware; her parents; sisters Loma Powell (twin sister) and Margaret Moore; and her brothers Thelton Farrow and Eddie Farrow.
Survivors include her sister Frances Morris of Texas City; brother L. D. Farrow of Nederland; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be James H. Powell, Jaime Powell, Jerry Powell, Thomas Moore, Joel Morris and Ryan Morris. Honorary pallbearers are Nolan Carter, George Raines and Gene Feltner.
