Sandra Novak McLenna
August 21, 1942 - January 11, 2004
Sandra Novak McLenna, 61, of Galveston, Texas passed away in the comfort of her own home unexpectedly, due to a rapid illness of lung cancer. Her children and two close friends were at her side.
She was a graduate of Cato-Meridian High School and attended Ridley-Lowell Business Institute in Binghamton, New York. A native to Chicago, Illinois, Sandra lived in Binghamton, New York for many years where she was employed by the State University of New York at Binghamton and worked as a Private Secretary to the Associate Registrar and Transfer Coordinator. She worked at numerous Law Firms as a Paralegal and Court Stenographer and was also a Staff Sergeant for the United States Army Reserve for 14 years where she received an Honorable Discharge in 1991.
Sandra moved to Galveston side of Clear Lake, Texas in 1989, where she resided for the last 15 years. She was employed at Lockheed/NASA Engineering & Sciences Company for several years as Secretary to the Vice President of Advanced Programs, Loral Space Information Systems as a Systems Engineering Secretary, and at Astro International Corporation as an Advanced Technology Division Secretary.
In 1975, she held the position of Vice-President of the Women’s International Bowling Congress and in 1977, was voted All-star Catcher of the Women’s International Softball Association. She enjoyed dancing, horseback riding, water skiing, cooking, golfing, reading and had aspirations of writing a best selling novel. She also had a great love for animals. Sandra had her own flare for style, a great sense of humor and loved to have fun with her friends and family. She enjoyed living her life to it’s fullest potential.
She is survived by her son, Lane; daughter, Lauren; granddaughter, Bianca; grandson, Desi; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Mom - you were a loving, caring, generous and devoted mother and friend. You were well respected, classy and loved by all who knew you. You’ll remain in our hearts and memories forever. We hope you have a great ride… We Love You!

Verbie D. "Toni" Flisowski, 83, of Galveston, passed away January 16, 2004, with her husband and children at her side.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 19th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Purdy officiating. Burial will follow the service at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
The family will receive visitors after 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 18th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.
Toni was born on December 20, 1920, in Anderson County, near Slocum, Texas.
She moved to Galveston in 1950. She was the owner of Toni’s Lazy Lounge for over thirty-eight years. Toni enjoyed and loved her family. Generous and kind to her many friends, they became her second family. She always helped anyone in need with a loving open heart. She was always willing to listen, tell a good joke, or provide what she could to anyone in need. She will be remembered for the laughter and compassion that she shared with all those around her. Toni will be greatly missed by all who loved her, family and friends alike.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and son, Willie Dean McNeel, of Mexia, Texas.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of forty nine years, John S. Flisowski; son, Roy Eugene McNeel, of Mexia; daughter, JoAnn McNeel Lane and husband, Don of Oklahoma; son, Jerry Lee McNeel, of Galveston; son, Johnny Ray Flisowski and wife, Kathi, of Galveston; daughter, Debbie Flisowski Gurka and husband, Robert Lee, of Santa Fe, and daughter-in-law, Billy Mac McNeel, of Mexia. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, brothers, Buddy Moore, of Irving, Billy Moore, of Malacoff, and sisters, Velma Graham of Mexia, and Margaret Wilhelm, of Texas City.
The family would like to thank Gulf Coast Health Care, and Anil and Hasu Patel for their love and support in our time of need.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Robert W. Gurka, Joeldan R. Flisowski, Jonathan L. Gurka, Wesley Baker, Stacey Gurka Baker, and Chasity Gurka.

William T. Null, 92, of Texas City, Texas, passed away, January 16, 2004, in Texas City.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m.,Tuesday, January 20, at Grace United Methodist Church, 2418 – 7th Ave. N., in Texas City. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., until service time at the church.
Mr. Null was retired from both Union Carbide and the City of Texas City after many years of service. He was also a longtime member of the Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Grace United Methodist Church.

Brenda Sue Segura, 40, of Nampa, passed away at her home on Thursday Jan. 15, 2004, due to natural causes.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday Jan. 20, 2004, in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 8 South Midland Blvd., Nampa. A viewing will be held Monday 3-8 p.m., at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd., Nampa, and at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m., prior to services. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Garden.
Brenda was born January 12, 1964, in Pasadena, Texas to Wilbert and Edna Martin Blank. She was raised and educated in Dickinson, Texas, where she graduated from Dickinson High School in 1983. On December 21, 1991, she married
Ignacio Segura in Laporte, Texas. Brenda was employed at Albertsons and later at U.S. Bank. She loved life and she loved people. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nampa.
Survivors include her husband, Ignacio; three children, Michael, Jessica and Lorenzo; five siblings, Sandra Fletcher, Wilbert Blank, Linda Martin, Kenneth Blank and Ronald Blank; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Angelique L. "Angel" Beaumont
SANTA FE — Angelique L. "Angel" Beaumont, 39, of Santa Fe, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2004, at her residence.
She was born February 11, 1964, in Heidelberg, Germany. Angel was a long time resident of Santa Fe and owned and operated Angels Animal Resort, in Santa Fe, where Angel cherished and devoted her life to all her animals, she also enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with friends.
Angel is survived by her father, Colonel Robert Beaumont, of Tuscon, Arizona; sister, Michelle Bush, of Phoenix, Arizona and many loving friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at the La Marque Presbyterian Church, in La Marque with the Rev. C.O. Magee officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

GALVESTON - Rose Lee Kahla, 68, of Galveston, Texas passed away January 19, 2004, in Texas City, Texas. Rose was born on May 4, 1935, in Galveston, Texas to Theodore & Elizabeth Marie Burke. She worked at UTMB in medical records for many years; and prior years at area banks.
Rose Lee is survived by her two sons, Todd Anthony Kahla, and Rodney Everett Kahla and wife Dawn all of Pt. Bolivar, Texas; two sisters Marie Hern and husband Harvey of La Marque, Texas, and Bonnie Etcheson of Elk Grove, California; two brothers, Charles Victor Burke and wife Cle’ Anne of Erath, Louisiana, T. Wayne Etcheson of Elk Grove, California; and five grandchildren; and a special friend Nunie Filidei.
A celebration of Rose’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel at Grace Memorial Park cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas. Visitation is 1 p.m. until service time. Deacon Robert Stevens is officiating.
Her services are under the direction of her godson, David H. Hern and the staff of James Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas.
