Amalia “Molly” Garcia Ramirez
GALVESTON — Amalia “Molly” Garcia Ramirez, 82, of Galveston, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 29th, at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica with Father John LaBauve, SVD, as Celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Catholic cemetery.
The family will receive visitors after 5 p.m., Tuesday, December 28th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m.
Molly was born December 17, 1922, in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico. She was a resident of Galveston since 1962 and a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. She retired from UTMB in 1997 with 20 years of service in food nutrition.
Molly is preceded in death by her parents, Teofilo and Nicolasa Garcia; her husband, Rudolph A. Ramirez; and very devoted companion, Adolfo Garza. She is survived by her daughters, Rita Quinn, of Texas City; Dolores Rubio and husband, Raymond, of Galveston; and Patricia Mejia, of Galveston; sons, Willie Garza and wife, Mary, of Galveston; Johnnie Garza and wife, Lorraine, of Dickinson; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; cousins, Rebecca Garcia and husband, Benny, of Houston; and Mr. and Mrs. Jose Benito Garza, of Mexico; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Willie Garza, Rodney Garza, Raymond Rubio, Michael Rubio, Ryan Rubio, Kelly Quinn, Johnnie Garza, and Ben Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Garcia and Jessie Ramirez.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hospice Care Team, Inc., especially Robert Green, Helen Gerding, and Deborah Perryman for the loving care they gave to Molly.

HITCHCOCK — Mary Ann Barnett, 97, of Hitchcock, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2004. She was born June 5, 1907, in Alexander, Texas to Christopher and Lena Martin Lindsey. Mary loved to play dominos and canasta.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rufus E. Barnett; her daughter, Mitty Terrasso, her son, Charles F. Cottrell, her sisters, Catherine Collins and Gerdy Perkins; and her son-in-law, Bill Snider.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Lena Rose Emmitte and husband Joe and Nellie Snider; her two sons, Rufus Barnett and Jesse Barnett and wife Carolyn; daughter-in-law: Gladys Cottrell; her brother: Joe Lindsey; and 35 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
A visitation service will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2004, at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2004, with Reverend Randy Marshall officiating at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Interment will follow at Hypolite-Perthuis cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA — Edith K. Cannon, 89, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2005, in Orlando, Florida.
She is survived by her siblings, Gertrude Kirschner, Ethel Mais, Midlred Mantzel, Charles Heuman Jr., William Heuman and friends who will deeply miss her.

Myrtle J. Nudie, 81, a former Texas City resident, died December 17, 2004, in Texarkana, Texas.
Memorial services will be held January 8, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church, 300 Wasting Street, Star City, Arkansas 71667.
Mrs. Nudie was born August 11, 1923, in Bluefield, West Virginia.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nick; her parents; two sisters; two brothers, and one grandchild.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Klinkhammer of Arkansas; four grandsons; two adopted grandsons; one adopted granddaughter, and eleven great grandchildren.
Wilmeth "Billie" Gregory
GALVESTON – Wilmeth "Billie" Gregory, age 84, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004.
She was born on June 26, 1920, in Bellevue, Texas. She was a First Lieutenant in the Army Aircorp in WWII, having served in the nursing corp. She moved to Galveston in 1964, and worked at UTMB Hospital for 21 years as a registered nurse. She was one of the founding members of the Galveston Hospice Care Team. She spent many years volunteering for Hospice and was active in their Bereavement Group. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the Grand Opera House and was an active member of Moody Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frances Ratcliff and brothers, Melvin and Phillip Manning.
She is survived by her son, Stephan Gregory and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home, with Reverend Charles Bagley officiating. Interment will follow at Houston National cemetery.

Lucille O’Dell Farina West
Lucille West, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2004, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas.
She was born in Houston, Texas on June 6, 1918, to parents, John and Olivia O’Dell. After losing both parents at an early age, she came to live in Kemah, Texas with the Freunds, along with their adopted daughter, Henrietta. She attended school in Webster, Texas and in 1934 she married
Pete Farina. They moved to Dickinson and had four children, Jacob, Olivia, Donnie and Ronnie. She was a very talented seamstress, and made clothes for many ladies in this area. Her other love was cooking. She retired from Clear Creek School District as a cook.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Gladys; the Freunds; two husbands, Pete Farina and Clifford West; her son, Donnie Farina and son-in-law, Robert Strom.
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Olivia and her husband, Mack Tolbert; sons, Jacob Farina, Ronnie Farina and his wife, Donna; grandsons, Michael Strom and wife, Susie, Stephen Farina and Matthew Farina; granddaughters, Carrie Menotti and husband, James, Rhonda Simeon and Robin LaLa and husband, T.J.; five great-grandsons and three great granddaughters; her sister, Henrietta Winfield and husband, Thomas; a special nephew, Tommy Winfield; numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 3, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday, December 2, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Dickinson, Texas .
Raymond M. Bowling
LA MARQUE — Raymond M. Bowling, 82 of Texas City, died at his daughter's residence in La Marque, Friday, December 31, 2004. He lost his short battle with life due to complications from lung cancer.
Raymond was born April 17, 1922, in Delwin, Texas. Raymond served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and was a letter carrier for the La Marque Post Office for eighteen years.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Raymond and Bertha Edith Bowling; wife, Mary Ella Jones Bowling and brother, Kenneth Bowling.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Melvin David of Santa Fe, Linda and Bobby Armstrong of La Marque, and Anita Louise Bowling of Lake Buchanan Dam; sisters, Clara Wanda Jones, Ruth Biddy and George Ola Moore; grandchildren, Melvin David Jr., Raymond David and wife, Stacy, Timothy Armstrong and wife, Amee, Angela Calzada and husband, Jess, Charles Stanley, Terisa Clayton and husband, Jereamy, and Christopher Stanley; great-grandchildren, Brenna Blackburn, Briana Blackburn, Britain Blackburn, Clayton David, Micole Calzada, Son Sie Rae Espinoza and husband, Javier, Destiny Mattes, Shelby Clayton; great-great-grandchildren, Renai Espinoza and Javier Espinoza Jr.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2005, at James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 4th, at the funeral home, with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating. Internment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, in Hitchcock.
Pallbearers will be Melvin David, Jr., Raymond David, Timothy Armstrong, Charles Stanley, Christopher Stanley and Gary Rodgers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jess Calzada and Larry Moreno.
