James Eben Brady
SANTA FE - James Eben Brady, 86, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2003, at UTMB Hospital. He was born on October 10, 1916, in Marion, Ohio. Mr. Brady was an optician while in Galveston, operating his own business, later to be associated with Island Optical, Inc. and with the Optical Shoppe, then retiring in January 1991. He was a resident of Galveston for 33 years before moving to Tiki Island Village in 1983, and later to Santa Fe in 1999. He was a member of the Broadway Church of Christ, a member of the Texas Society of Dispensing Opticians, and a veteran of World War II, retiring with 20 years service as a Lt. Col., Air Force Reserve. He was a graduate of Kentucky Military Institute, attended Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and School of Applied Optics, Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Brady was a former member of the Galveston Rotary Club and the Galveston Elks Lodge #126, B.P.O. E.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. and Mrs. E.L. Brady; wife March Brady; and sister Katherine Hurst.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by a daughter Carla Brady and Mike Faulcon of Santa Fe; sister-in-law Laree Hill of Pittsburg, Texas; friends as close as family, Mary Cobb of Galveston, the Murello family of Santa Fe; numerous nieces and nephews; and four special companions Reba, Buddy, Dixie and Pierre.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at 10 a.m. at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Lee Austin, L.O. "Whitey" Martin, Harry Maxwell, Jr., Mike Mouton, Johnnie Murello and Joseph Murello, III.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Dorothy Jones, Maureen Martin and Diane Thompson, Dr. Mann and Staff of UTMB Geriatrics – Santa Fe and Gulf Coast Health Care Staff.

Dona Marie Talbitzer Musick
GALVESTON - Dona Marie Talbitzer Musick, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2003. She was born March 2, 1933, in Mingo Junction, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband John E. Musick; and parents C. Marie Booth Talbitzer and John A. Talbitzer, Sr.
Dona Musick was a practicing nurse for 47 years having worked for UTMB, St. Mary’s, Moody House and private duty nursing. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army Nursing Corp, having served during the Korean Conflict. She was a graduate of McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing in Pennsylvania. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She was a Past Matron of Galveston Chapter No. 716 Order of the Easter Star, member of the Daughters of the Nile, Social Order of the Beauceant, and many Nurses and Alumni Associations and Past chairman and board member of the American Red Cross. Other associations included Submarine Veterans of World War II, Yangtze River Patrol and American Motorcycle Riders’ Association.
Visitation will be held at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2003. La Marque Chapter No. 979-O.E.S. will provide a service at 6 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Central Christian Church, 2702 Ave. O 1/2, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2003. The Reverend Herbert L. Polinard officiating.
