Funeral services will be held in San Miguel, El Salvador. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 21, and Monday, September 22, 2003, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas.
Ana Fedelina Chavez went to Heaven at age 48. Ana, one of God's precious and beautiful creatures, was taken from this earth on September 19, 2003. Ana was born on February 11, 1955, in San Miguel, El Salvador.

Martha Wilson passed from this life on September 19, 2003, at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City.
Martha was born July 27, 1934, in Sulfur Springs, Texas. She was the 2nd of eight children, born to James Robert and Dovie Mae Parker Steveson. She was a resident of Galveston County for nearly 40 years.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Judge Ronald L. Wilson; her daughter, Donna Wilson, of Alvin, Texas, and her granddaughter, Sarah Wilson of Juneau, Alaska. Martha is also survived by a sister, Julia Foreman, of Channelview, Texas, 3 brothers & sisters-in-law; James W. (Bud) & Jo Ann Steveson, Lufkin, Texas, George & Elaine Steveson, Lufkin, Texas, John & Carolyn Steveson, Maryland, 3 sisters-in-law; Kathy Steveson, Henderson, Texas, Dorothy Walker, Montgomery, Texas, Anne Ashby, San Antonio, Texas, her mother-in-law; Frances Ashby, San Antonio, Texas, several nieces & nephews & spouses, several great nieces & nephews & spouses & 3 great-great nephews and a former sister-in-law, Nanci Steveson, Maryland.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Frances Steveson Van Eman; two brothers, Michael Len Steveson and Bob Lee Steveson and her parents, James Robert and Dovie Mae Parker Steveson.
From her very 1st day of school, Martha knew that she wanted to be a teacher. She worked hard to accomplish this goal. After graduating with a BS in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, Martha began a teaching career that spanned 33 years. She first taught in the Lufkin ISD and later in the Spring Branch ISD as an elementary teacher. Martha taught elementary and junior high grades, as well as being the librarian, for La Marque ISD and Clear Creek ISD for many years.
Her love of teaching and the students she served was evident in the many stories she shared about her years in the classroom.
She also earned a Masters Degree in Education with Library Certification at Sam Houston State University. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Mu Alpha Chapter, Theta Delta Beta, National Educators Asso., Texas State Teachers Asso., Classroom Teachers Asso., and American Librarian Asso.
She was a longtime member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a teacher honor society that encourages and recognizes excellence in teaching. Martha was also instrumental informing a local chapter of this organization and was the 1st president of the League City Chapter, Mu Alpha.
Martha was also a member of the Alpha Chapter Theta Delta Beta, a charity group, for almost 40 years. As a member of TDB, she served tirelessly in their charitable efforts to benefit children and families in Galveston County. She was also a supporter of 4-H and the Galveston County Fair.
Even when Martha’s health began to fail, her determination to participate in activities of service never failed. She was a caring person, filled with wisdom, who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 23 at Crowder’s Funeral Home, in Dickinson. Brother Streeter, from Alvin Missionary Baptist Church, and Brother Moss, from Channelview Assembly of God, will officiate. In accordance to her wishes, no visitations will be available. A private interment will be at Grace Memorial cemetery in Hitchcock.

Mildred Louise Williams, 85, of Texas City passed away Saturday, September 20, 2003, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.
Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at Grace Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2003, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born August 2, 2003, in Normangee, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Texas City.
She is preceded in death by her husband, C.M. "Bill" Williams.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherry L. Merryman and husband, Darrell, of Texas City, Barbara Ann Argo and husband, Charles, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; a brother, Joe R. Crow, of Fulsher, Texas; her grandchildren, Darren Merryman and wife, Charis, of Dickinson, Texas, Kristen Gates and husband, John, of Friendswood, Texas, Gary Argo and Stephen Argo, both of Ardmore, Oklahoma; two nieces, Sandra Sindel and husband, Jerry, of Richmond, Texas and Patsy Crow, of Richmond, Texas; one great niece, Pam Rogers; one great nephew, Colin Sindel; and special friend, Jean Eales.

Raynold Charles "Zeke" Novosad, 72, a longtime resident of Santa Fe, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23, 2003, from 4:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. A Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m., following visitation.
Mr. Novosad was born September 10, 1931, in Baytown, Texas. He was a Car-Man for Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock, and KJT of Baytown, Texas. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served in the Korean Conflict.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Clara Novosad, and a brother, Bernie Novosad.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Margaret Novosad; his children, Marcella Pantalion and husband, Tim, Paulette Smith and husband, Buddy, Diana Gaspard and husband, Guy Dale, R. C. DICKINSON - Vera Elizabeth Paaske Dick, 87, resident of Dickinson, Texas passed away September 18, 2003, at her residence. She was born July 30, 1916, in Rosebud, Texas to Francis Edward and Lila Mae Beckham Tubbs. Vera was a homemaker and a member of the Baptists faith.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of James Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas with Reverend Randy Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at South Park cemetery in Pearland, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday, September 21, 2003, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

GALVESTON - Ricardo H. "Ricky Joe" Santos, Jr., passed away Friday, September 19, 2003 at The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Galveston, with Fr. John Paul Flajole, O.F.M., as Celebrant. Burial will follow services Wednesday at Calvary cemetery, also in Galveston. A Rosary Service in his memory will be held at 7p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2003, in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home. Mr. Santos’ family will be receiving friends for visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday evening after 5p.m.
Ricky Joe was born on Galveston Island, November 14, 1977. Growing up on the island and attending public schools, Ricky Joe called the island his home for all of his life. He enjoyed listening to music and loved to dance. Perhaps one more enjoyment of Ricky’s was waiting for Tuesday to come so that he could rent videos of the latest released movies. He enjoyed doing that very much. Ricky was a very caring and loving individual who could make anyone feel good if they were saddened or down-hearted. He was a great son and brother and friend to many and he will be sadly missed.
He is predeceased in death by his grandparents, Maria Santos and husband, Joe Santos, Jr. He leaves behind his loving family, his father, Richard Santos, Sr. and wife, Dina of Galveston, his mother, Katie Napoli and husband, Richard of Rockport, Texas, grandparents, Buddy and Allene Blake of Arkansas and Alice Sauceda of Texas City, Texas and also his great-grandmother, Barbara Saucedo of Galveston. Sharing in his loss, also, is Ricky Joe’s sister, Emily Ann Marie Santos of Galveston, brother, Jerimie A. Santos of Galveston, one step-sister, Heather Sheridan and Chris of Texas City, Texas and step-brothers, Michael H. Sheridan, Jr. and Jonathan Sheridan, both of Galveston. Saddened by his loss, also, are Ricky Joe’s uncles, Julian J. Mata and wife, Magdalena of La Marque, Texas, Robert Mata and wife, Josie of Los Angeles, California, Joseph Santos, III and wife, Francine of Humble, Texas, Chris Martin, Rick Martin, both of Arkansas and Eddie Herrera, Jr., his aunts, Sylvia Williams and husband, Gary Gray of Galveston, Debbie Martin of Arkansas, Vicky Perez and husband, Dennis of Dayton, Texas, Liz Galicia and husband, Jessie and Jina Gayton and husband, Elude, his nieces, Zoe Bustamante and Katie Sheridan, a host of many other loving family members and friends, most especially, Ricky Joe’s best friend, Brian Carter.
