TEXAS CITY - Rose Mary Wilson, 91, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 14, 2003, at Gulf Health Care Center, Galveston, Texas.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at St. John Baptist Church, with Pastor Louis Simpson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview cemetery, Galveston, Texas.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m., followed by a wake service from 7 p.m. -8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at the chapel of Fields Funeral Services.
Mrs. Wilson was born September 23, 1912, in Baldwin, Louisiana. She was baptized by Rev. L. E. Brown at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Galveston, Texas. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church where she has served as church musician, president of the Senior Mission, superintendent of Sunday School, Director of BTU, taught women's bible class, and established the Brown Memorial Kindergarten. She was a graduate of Texas Southern University and Dominican, was employed in Galveston County school districts, and was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority.
She was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Andrew Henry Wilson; son, Jerry Wilson; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a devoted niece, Geraldine Randolph; a host of other nieces and nephews; cousins, Myrtle Washington and Angela Roach of Galveston; godsons, Michael Fields and Andrew Henry Simpson; other relatives and friends.

Leacy "Maw Maw" Ruttiger
GALVESTON - Leacy "Maw Maw" Ruttiger, 83, of Galveston, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2003, at her residence.
The family will receive visitors after 5 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m., led by Deacon John Pistone.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Father Frank Fabj officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Dickinson.
Leacy was born July 20, 1920, in Houston, Texas. She married
Eddie Ruttiger, Sr., of Galveston, in 1938. Leacy was a devoted wife and homemaker her entire life. She was a mother of four, grandmother of nine, great grandmother of eighteen, and great-great grandmother of five. Maw Maw was lovingly known as a straight-forward woman who would tell it as she saw it, but who always stood by her family.
Leacy was preceded in death by her husband, E.H. Ruttiger, Sr.
She is survived by three sons, E.H. (Skippy) Ruttiger, Jr., of Rockport, Texas; Ronnie Ruttiger, Sr. and wife, Margaret, of Galveston; Donny Ruttiger, of Galveston; one daughter, Nancy Black, of Galveston; daughter-in-law, Barbara Norman, of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Kathy Taylor, Diana Espinosa, Susie Harriman, Eddie Ruttiger, III, Timmy Ruttiger, Skippy Wenning, Larry Black, Jr., Ronnie Ruttiger, Jr., and Amy Gonzales; sisters, Dorothy Stoltz and husband, Raymond, of Houston, Texas; and Mary Horton and husband, Bill, of Dallas, Texas; sisters-in-law: Doris Ruttiger, of Lamar, Texas; and Sarah Pitts, of Pasadena, Texas; goddaughter, Mary Ann Terrbone; special and devoted friends, Julie Blackwell, and Richard and Felicia Dare; and many other family and friends. Maw Maw will be especially missed by her great grandson, Anthony Black, as they took care of each other.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Ruttiger, III, Timmy Ruttiger, Skippy Wenning, Larry Black, Jr., Ronnie Ruttiger, Jr., and Karl Harriman.

LA MARQUE - Flora E. Hussey, 89, of La Marque passed away Sunday, November 16, 2003, at the Gulf Health Care Center in Texas City. She was born March 18, 1914, in Garland, Texas. Mrs. Hussey was a Elementary School Teacher with the Hitchcock Independent School District with thirty-five years of service, a member of the First United Methodist Church of La Marque.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph O. Hussey.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law; Sharon and Stephen Cornett of Texas City and Shelia Martelli of Texas City; sister-in-law Beverly Hanson of Galveston; two grandchildren Stephen Patrick Cornett of Texas City and Marissa Cornett of Texas City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 18, 2003, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with The Rev. Elizabeth Moreau officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Cornett, Stephen Patrick Cornett, Anthony Hanson, Billy Thompson and Dennis Cogburn. The family would like to express a special thanks to the A-med Hospice, the Gulf Health Care Center in Texas City and long time caregiver Mary Cravens.

COLDSPRING - Mrs. Faye Madeline Baker passed from this life Saturday morning, November 15, 2003, in Coldspring.
Born July 30, 1928, in Peason, Louisiana, Mrs. Baker had been a resident of Coldspring for nine months, previously a ten-year resident of Texas City. She was a homemaker, a member of First Assembly of God Church in Shephard and a former member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Texas City.
preceded in death by her husband, William and her son, Bob, survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George A. and Karen Baker of Santa Fe; daughter and son-in-law, Vera Faye and Rick Brown of Coldspring; daughter-in-law, Brenda Baker of Texas City; brother, Bobby James Holland of Beaumont; sister, Raye Blanchard of League City; ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2003, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Bingle officiating. A private cremation will follow.

TEXAS CITY - Annie Laura Barker, 88, of Texas City passed away Saturday, November 15, 2003, at Mainland Medical Center. She was born February 17, 1915, in San Angelo, Texas. She was a resident of Texas City since 1980, and a former resident of La Marque for thirty-five years. She was very active in Paul's Union Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Travis Barker, Sr.; three sisters, Willa Mae Keys, Eva Cotton, and Winnie Posey; and four brothers, Joe Camp, Wilburn Camp, Harry Camp, Ray Camp and Bud Camp.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Ann Rohden of Texas City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert T., Jr. and Claire Barker and William T. and Elaine Barker, all of Texas City; one son-in-law, Dr. Charles Rohden, Sr.; one sister, Lucille Rotten; nine grandchildren, Charles Rohden, Jr., Craig Rohden, Charla Rohden, Laura Barker, Melissa Barker, Wendy Barker, and Matthew Barker; and two great grandchildren, Christian Rohden and Candice Rohden.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2003, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at Paul's Union Church in La Marque, with Pastor Kevin Herrin, officiating. Yosfi Paul Guelfi
GALVESTON - Yosfi Paul Guelfi, 95, of Galveston, passed away Monday evening, November 17, 2003, at UTMB Hospital. Yosfi was born October 5, 1908, in Galveston. He was a retired grocer having owned and operated corner grocery stores at various locations in Galveston throughout his lifetime. He operated Guelfi's Grocery on 49th and Avenue Q until his retirement at the age of 80. He graduated from Ball High School in 1928, and attended Texas A&M University.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Loraine Grenall Guelfi; his parents, Guelfo and Adele Guelfi; and his brother, Peter Guelfi.
He is survived by his three children, Linda Lou Overbeck, Paul Guelfi, and Susan Gould; son-in-law, Eugene Overbeck; five grandchildren, Katherine Maxwell, Andrea Cortinas, Jonathan Gould, Jennifer Flores, and Lauren Schmid; four great grandchildren, Loraine and Megan Maxwell, Noah and Nicholas Cortinas and niece, Sarah Miller.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Gould, Brian Maxwell, Orlando Cortinas, Tony Flores, Jon Schmid, and Eugene Overbeck.
Yosfi was devoted to his family, loved Galveston Island, the Texas Aggies, and beautiful flowers. He will be fondly missed by his loving family and friends.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2003, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Jon Bok, O.F.M. as Celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Calvary cemetery in Galveston.
