Mrs. Mumphrey died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at her residence.
Carolyn Noble shields
Funeral services for Carolyn Noble Shields, 79, of Kilgore were held at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 3, 2002 at the First Presbyterian Church in Kilgore with the Rev. Bill Ingersoll officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
She was born June 8, 1923 in Newellton, La. to Dr. William and Jennie Noble. She passed away on Sunday morning, Sept. 1, 2002.
Mrs. Shields was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore.
A loving mother and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Davis Noble, Jr.; and husband, Lloyd L. Shields, Jr.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kirk and Penny Shields of Longview, Forrest and Laurie Sheilds of Fort Worth, Lloyd N. “Sonny” and Laura Shields of New Orleans; granddaughters, Jenny Shields, Mary Shields, Carolyn Shields, Ellen Shields, and Aubrey Shields; grandsons, Lindsey Shields, William Shields, Kyle Shields, Stephen Shields, Stuart Shields; and one sister, Jane Noble Adams of Dallas.

Margaret Smith McCord
HOUMA — Graveside services for Margaret Smith McCord, 92, of Houma, La. will be held Monday, May 27, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, La. Arrangements are under the direction of Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. A memorial service for Mrs. McCord will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Kilgore on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at 2 p.m.
Mrs. McCord died Friday, May 24, 2002.
She was a native of Monroe, La. and was a retired teacher from Monroe and Kilgore. Mrs. McCord was a member of D.A.R., Colonial Dames, French Huguenots Society and Women of the First Presbyterian Church. She received the Teacher of the Year Award in Kilgore and was selected a First Lady of Kilgore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rene R. McCord, Jr.; her parents, Joseph Arthur Smith and Elizabeth Fulkerson Smith; two sisters, Francis Smith and Penelope Smith Matthews; and two brothers, J. Arthur Smith and Frank Fulkerson Smith.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rives McCord and Linda McCord of Houma, La.; a sister, Katherine Doak Smith of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Medical Benevolence Foundation in care of the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore.
Doris Gaudet
Services for Doris Gaudet, 69, of Kilgore, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Mr. Kevin Donohue officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Gaudet died on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 11, 1932 in Kilgore, Texas to Jeff and Nona Gable. Mrs. Gaudet was a 1950 graduate of Kilgore High School and a graduate of Kilgore Nursing School. She married L.J. Gaudet June 20, 1959. Mrs. Gaudet had been director of Nursing, head of the Emergency Medical Services and the Emergency Room Nurses at Roy H. Laird Memorial Hospital. She was an active volunteer in the Kilgore Boys Baseball Association where she had served as president of the Mother’s Auxiliary. Mrs. Gaudet was devoted to her family and nursing.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Gaudet of Victor, Idaho, Bobby and Susan Reyes of Plano, Mack and Joan Gaudet of Kilgore, Larry and Letha Gaudet of Kilgore; one daughter, Terry Kornegay of Kilgore; eight grandchildren, Randi DeShazer and her husband Dion of Kilgore, Josh Gaudet of Kilgore, James Reyes of Dallas, Brandon Burress of Leverett’s Chapel, Amy Reyes of Plano, Grant Gaudet of Victor, Idaho, Clay Gaudet of Kilgore, Ty Gaudet of Kilgore; one great-grandson, Grayson DeShazer; two nephews, David Peck and Keith Peck; special friends, Sandra Ashby, Shirley Platt, Jenny Dreadin, Barbara Wood, Jan Smith, and Mary Barnhart.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jimmy Gene and Jimmie Faye Myers for their abundant care and devotion.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one granddaughter, Angel Gaudet, and a sister, Jeffrice Peck.

Storey Franklin Sheppard
CLARKSVILLE — Services for Storey Franklin Sheppard, 68, of Kilgore, formerly of Clarksville, Texas, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 at the Lindeman Chapel in Clarksville with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial wil follow in the Annona Cemetery near Clarksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Clarksville Funeral Home.
Mr. Sheppard passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2002 in Longview, Texas.
He was born May 16, 1934 in English, Texas the son of the late Zeno and Mabel Storey Sheppard. Mr. Sheppard was retired from the lumber industry in Longview. He also served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Bray Sheppard of Kilgore; two sons, Mark Sheppard of Carrollton and Kerry Sheppard of Mesquite; two brothers, Wayne Sheppard of Carrollton and Jerry Sheppard of Fort Worth; and five grandchildren, Michael, Jeff, Staci, Mallory and Brooke.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 7 p.m.
Kevin Wayne Currie/Baker
Services for Kevin Wayne Currie/Baker, 15, of College Station, formerly of Liberty City, will be 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Hampton officiating. There will also be a 3 p.m. service Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 at the Memorial Funeral Chapel of College Station. Burial will follow in the College Station Cemetery.
Mr. Currie/Baker died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002 as the results of an automobile accident in Gladewater.
He was born Aug. 30, 1986 in Bryan and attended Sabine schools and A&M Consolidated High School in College Station. Kevin was a member of Boy Scout Troop 259 in Liberty City, and enjoyed drawing, computers, swimming and fishing.
Survivors include his parents, Sandra Baker of College Station, Lee Baker of White Oak and Jimmie (Bodie) Currie of Florida; sister, Elizabeth Baker of College Station; brother, Christopher Baker of College Station; grandparents, Ann Chase of Bryan, Alvin Dombart of Iola, Jim and Betty Baker of Kilgore; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Imogene Hill Tidwell
Services for Imogene Hill Tidwell, 69, of Kilgore, will be 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 9, 2002 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Brother Brad Horton and the Rev. Don Beebe officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery.
Mrs. Tidwell died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 8, 1933 in Italy, Texas to Ernest and Emma Lola Johns. She was a homemaker and a memebr of Faith Baptist Church in Kilgore.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Danny Wayne Murphy and Gary Lynn Murphy; daughter, Helen Joyce Georgepul; sister, Pauline Childress; brother, E.E. Johns, Jr.; and her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Darriel Tidwell of Kilgore; six daughters, Patricia Sue Stewart, Helen Hill, Brenda Tidwell, Debbie Hill, all of Kilgore, Mary McCool of Oklahoma and Becky Miller of Gilmer; three sons, Steven Ray Hill, Nicky Georgepul, and Jimmy Tidwell, all of Kilgore; one sister, Sue Hendrix of Kilgore; three brothers, Kenneth Johns, Leroy Johns and Jamie Johns, all of Kilgore; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Claude F. Taylor
Services for Claude F. Taylor, 72, of Kilgore, are pending with Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.
Mr. Taylor died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 in a Longview hospital.
Arch C. “Dutch” Harris
Services for Dutch Harris, 92, of Kilgore will be 1 p.m., Thursday afternoon at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Robert Besser and Ralph Rudy officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mr. Harris died Monday night in Kilgore. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mildred, his parents, his brothers, Bill and Ralph and his sister, Evelyn.
He was born Nov. 14, 1910 in Springfield, Mo. Mr. Harris was a graduate of Boynton, Okla. High School where he played basketball. He was in the Civil Service during WWII and worked as a fuels inspector for the Air force. In 1946 he and his brother, Ralph, came to Kilgore and started Harris Bros. Co. Mr. Harris had been a member of the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church over 50 years. He was a longtime member and past president of Roy H. Laird Country Club as well as past president and former director of the East Texas Oil Men’s Golf Association.
Mr. Harris was well known for his integrity and love of people. He was a gentleman with a big smile and “Grandad” will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Harris is survived by a daughter, Sheri King Bell and her husband Dale of Magnolia, Ark.; a sister, Coralyn Edmonds of Kilgore; a grandson, Randy King and his wife Tina and their children Brian King of Fort Worth, Kelle King Marcott and husband Brian of Lufkin, and Lindsey King of Kilgore; granddaughter, Kandy King Bradshaw and her husband Mark and their sons, Houston and Will of Camden, Ark.; granddaughter, Cynthia Bell Boswell and her husband Jim and their son Chris of Magnolia; and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Harris’ family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregivers and special friend.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, East Texas Treatment Center or a charity of choice.

Evelyn Tyler
Memorial services for Evelyn Tyler, 79, of Katy, formerly of Kilgore, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003 at the First Assembly of God Church in Kilgore with the Revs. Brian Nutt and Leland Burkett officiating.
Mrs. Tyler died in Sunbridge Katy Care Center in Katy on Monday, Jan. 27, 2003.
Mrs. Tyler was born March 10, 1923 to Sterling and Nora Howell in Non, Okla. She married Carl “Push” Tyler in July 1983. She received her beautician license in 1959 and operated her own hair salon in Dallas for many years. She was a proud member of the First Assembly of God Church in Kilgore.
Mrs. Tyler is survived by her daughter, Lawanna Lloyd of Katy, Texas; step-daughter, Patsy Gersteman of Baytown, Texas; step-son, George Tyler of Baytown; three sisters, Alma DiDonato of Dallas, Texas, Thelma Clute Robertson of Tyler, Texas, Verna Reaves of New London, Texas; brother, Bruce Howell of Red Oak, Texas; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003.
Bobby Ray North
Services for Bobby Ray North, 50, of Marshall were 10 a.m. today, Jan. 29, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with the Rev. Dale Reed officiating. Burial followed in the Kilgore Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Emmett Capt, Ray Kennedy, Bill Kennedy, Mark Gibson, Jim McFarland, and Bill Ledbetter. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Perry, Roger Germany and Bill Germany.
Mr. North died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 in Marshall.
He was born Feb. 16, 1952 in Pasadena and lived in Marshall since 1989. He had worked in the oil industry for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey North; and a brother, Roger North.
Survivors include his wife, mother and step-father, three sons, three granddaughters, one grandson, one cousin, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
