Robert E. “Bob” Foster
Graveside services for Robert E. “Bob” Foster, 77, of Kilgore, were at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2001 at the Kilgore Cemetery with the Rev. Buddy Duggins officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.
Pallbearers were David Hedrick, Sonny Spradlin, Howard Alexander, Jimmy Thrower, Johnny Bradley, Elzie Halbert and Bob Bustin.
Mr. Foster died Tuesday, May 1, 2001 in Tyler.
He was born Nov. 21, 1923 in Portland, Ore. and attended Kilgore Public Schools, Black Fox Military Academy in Hollywood, Calif. and graduated high school in Trinidad, Colo. He served in the United Stated Air Force, 101st Airborne, 74th Troop Carrier Squadron during WWII. He was employed by Shell Pipeline Company, the United States Post Office, Gregg County Sheriff’s Office and the Kilgore Police Department. He was a cattle rancher for the past 25 years as well.
Survivors include his wife, one son, one aunt, four cousins and their spouses, two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cain-Wylie Garden of the East Texas Treatment Center.
Elouise Faires Cox
Graveside services for Elouise Cox, 79, of Dallas, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001 at the Kilgore Cemetery with Dale Hedrick officiating.
Miss Cox passed away at Baylor Hospital, Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001 in Dallas.
She was born Sept. 12, 1922 in Henderson, County, Texas to the late James Monroe and Osa Vandergriff Cox. Miss Cox moved to Kilgore with her family in 1931. She graduated from Kilgore High School in 1941. Miss Cox had been a resident of Dallas since 1942. She retired from T.U. Electric where she was an executive secretary. Before her illness she was planning to move back to Kilgore to spend her retirement with her brother and sisters.
She was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Judy Cox of Kilgore; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ferne and Jack Parker of Kilgore, Doris and Brian Mumford of Richardson, Texas and Claudette and Cassity Jones of Longview, Texas; three nephews; eight nieces; and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Zella Allen
Services for Zella Allen, 84, of Longview were 10 a.m., today, Nov. 5, 2001 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Sonny Selden and Jake Wommer officiating. Burial followed in the Kilgore Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Allen, Bert Fulgum, Paul Everett, Kelly Allen, Jason Allen, Dan Blakeley, Joe Brown and David Mims.
Mrs. Allen died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001 in Longview.
She was born Dec. 7, 1916 in Hasty, Ark. She lived in East Texas most of her life, and was a homemaker and a member of the White Oak Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband R. W. “Bill” Allen and a son Jerry L. Allen.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, two sisters and brothers-in-law, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Helen Searcy
NEW LONDON — Graveside services for Mary Helen Searcy, 76, of New London, were 1 p.m. today, Nov. 5, 2001 at the Griffin Cemetery in Cherokee County, with the Rev. Mac Vaughn officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton.
Mrs. Searcy died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 in a Longview nursing home.
She was born Dec. 23, 1924 in New Summerfield to Walter and Sible Downing Clark. She had been a resident of the New London are since 1947 and was a member of the New London United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Q. Searcy and her parents.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Ursula Searcy of Albuquerque, N.M., John Mark and Ramelle Searcy of New London and Jason and Rebecca Searcy of Marshall; a daughter, Penny Sue Searcy of Marshall; one brother, Ruby Pearl Clark of Jacksonville; one sister, Edna Ritchey of New Summerfield; and eight grandchildren.
Louise London
OVERTON — Graveside services for Margaret Louise London, 82, of Overton, were 3 p.m. today, Nov. 5, 2001 at the Overton City Cemetery with the Rev. Atwell Hankins officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton.
Mrs. London died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001 in an Overton nursing home.
She was born April 28, 1919 in Munday to Kenneth and Vera Bates Burrow. she was a retired cook and waitress and had worked at the Tasty Freeze and numerous other Kilgore restaurants. She had been a resident of the Overton area since 1961 and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Overton.
Survivors include one son, Charles London of Liberty City; two brothers, Harvey Kay Burrow of Fremont and Ray Burrow of Lake Palestine; one sister, Dolly Hoskins of San Antonio; and one grandson.
Estelle Elizabeth “Stella” Simpson
Services for Estelle Elizabeth Simpson, 89, of Palestine, formerly of Kilgore, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Besser officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery.
Mrs. Simpson died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 at the Cartmell Nursing Home in Palestine.
She was born April 7, 1912 in Galveston and was the daughter of Thomas and Allie Hogan. She had been a resident of Kilgore since 1934. She was a longtime member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Kilgore.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harry D. Simpson.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael H. and LaVerne Simpson of Bullard; two grandchildren, Leigh Anne Simpson of Flint and Stephen M. Simpson and wife Laurie of Arlington; and a special niece.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Salvador Ramon “Chava” Estrada
Services for Chava Estrada, 21, of Kilgore, are pending with Rader Funeral Home of Kilgor.
Mr. Estrada died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 as the results of a motorcycle accident.
Leta Smith
HENDERSON — Services for Leta Smith, 68, of Henderson, formerly of Kilgore, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Fry officiating. Burial will be in the Bridges Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home in Henderson.
Ms. Smith died Sunday, April 29, 2001 at a local hospital.
She was born Sept. 6, 1932 in Overton and was a member of the Baptist faith. She was employed in retail at J.B. Whites.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Jones; mother, Dorothy Jones; brothers, William Jones and Dewey Jones; and one sister, Shirley Self.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Barbara Smith of Waller; one daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Tommy Holman of Henderson; one sister-in-law, Betty Jones of Navasota; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Tyler Christopher Alexander
Services for Tyler Christopher Alexander, 3, of Lindale will be 2 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2001 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Huffhines officiating.
Tyler died Saturday, April 28, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident.
Tyler was born Feb. 7, 1998 in Livingston to his parents Craig C. and Kristin Alexander. He was an energetic young child and loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered and missed by everyone he knew.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Joe Hendrix.
Survivors include his parents, Kristin and Craig C. Alexander of Lindale; paternal grandparents, Craig W. Alexander of Lindale and Diane Alexander and Wesley Simpson of Bullard; great-grandparents, Sue and Joe Hendrix of Kilgore, Henry and Janet McCarty of Liberty City, Jerome and Emma Nell Denmon of Liberty City; a great-great-grandmother, Lillie Ashby of Liberty City; an aunt, Carla Griffith of Liberty City; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and other loving family.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home tonight between 6 and 8 p.m.
