LARRY C. GIBSON
LONGVIEW — Graveside services for Larry C. Gibson, 61, of Gladewater will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Taylor officiating. He passed away Jan. 25, 2005 in a Longview hospital.
Mr. Gibson was born June 12, 1943 in Longview to W.C. and Laverne Gibson.
He retired from Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hallsville. He also served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
He is survived by his mother, Laverne Gibson of Hallsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Casie Gibson of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.; one daughter, Jennifer Gibson of Little Elm; three sisters, Ann Rydell of Portland, OR., Marty Nelson of Hallsville, and Pat House of Winterhaven, FL.; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial may be made to any local Alcoholics Anonymous Chapter.

RUTH PAULINE FULLER SMITH
Graveside services for Ruth Pauline Smith, 79, of Alvin, will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005, at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest at West Columbia with Pastor Judi Wilds officiating. Visitation will precede the service at Baker’s Funeral Home in West Columbia from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Mrs. Smith was born November 11, 1925, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, and died Saturday, January 22, 2005, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher (Lum) and Lula Bell Fuller, her husband, Elvin E. “Red” Smith, and 8 of her 9 siblings, Ted Fuller, Elmer Fuller, Gladys Fuller Harton, Abbie Fuller King, Ann Fuller Hensley, Ralph Fuller, Archie Fuller, and Patrick Fuller. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Lynn Smith and Larry and Carol Smith of Alvin; 1 granddaughter and 4 grandsons, Cortney Smith Poncio, Lance and Nicci Smith, Chance and Katie Smith, Kyle Smith and Laura Miller, and Chase and Oksana Smith; 6 great grandchildren, Kaylyn, Dalton, Drayton and Gage Smith and Addison and Pike Poncio; 1 sister, Peggy Fuller Rylander of Pasadena. and many other relatives.
Mrs. Smith was of the Baptist Faith, was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #429.

DORIS MARIE SNOW
GILMER — Services for Doris Marie Snow, 73, of Mesquite were held 10 a.m. Thursday at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer. Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill in Upshur County. Mrs. Snow passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 in Dallas.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Snow of Mesquite; one son, Keith Snow of Dallas; two daughters, Denise Snow of Mesquite, Melissa Snow of Dallas; four brothers, Thomas Arden of Lake ‘O the Pines, Bobby Arden of Gladewater, Billy Arden of Ben Wheeler, Larry Arden of Kilgore; one sister, Ann Watson of Walker, LA.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

MAE ALICE WOODS
Funeral services for Mrs. Mae Alice Woods are pending with Citizens Funeral Home. She passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 at a Longview hospital.

ANNIE GRAY ROSS
Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Gray Ross, 75, of Henderson are pending with Southern Funeral Home. She passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

LAWRENCE W. MUCKELROY SR.
Funeral services for Lawrence W. Muckelroy Sr., 82, were held Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Dallas. A Wake service was held Sunday, Jan. 23, at Black and Clark Funeral Home. He passed away Jan. 19, 2005.
Mr. Muckelroy was born Jan. 28, 1922. A native of Kilgore, he graduated from Dansby High School in 1941. He was an outstanding athlete at the high school and at the college level. He graduated from Texas College and Texas Southern University, respectively, with B.S. and M.S. degrees. He was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Dallas for many years where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Trustee.
He was employed by Dallas Independent School District. He was a mathematics teacher at John Henry Brown and Pearl C. Anderson. He was principal at Harry Stone Elementary School and was later appointed the first principal at Maynard Jackson Vanguard School where he remained until his retirement. In 1982 he received the Jack Lowe Award as Principal of the year.
He is the son of the late Virgil Muckelroy (Mauline), who both preceded him in death along with all of his siblings. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Laura; son, Lawrence Jr.; daughters, Marsha Ricks and Jacquelyn Houston-McNeal (Elvin), two grandchildren; many loving relatives and friends.

DON KRUSE
Services for Don Kruse, 59, of Longview will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Kilgore with the Revs. David Hampton, Frank Mathews and an uncle, the Rev. Dale Stinson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Kruse died Monday, March 15, in Kilgore.
He was born Oct. 16, 1944 in Simms, Texas, the son of the late Gussie and Gladys Kruse. He graduated from Kilgore College and the University of Houston, and on Feb. 15, 2003 he was inducted into the Kilgore College Hall of Fame for basketball. He played one year professionally for the Houston Rockets basketball team. He later served on the board of directors at Kilgore College and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kilgore. He had worked for Merritt Tool for 36 years and was an avid sportsman.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Skaron Skipper Kruse, and a daughter, Courtney Kruse Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Rikki Kruse of Longview; two daughters, Kellie Kruse and Amber Boswell of Longview; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Melba Johnson of Texarkana and Ruth and Dwight Byrd of Simms; mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Ann Barkett of Longview; sister-in-law, Kathy Wright and her husband Scott of Hawkins; brother-in-law, Scott Skipper and his wife Kellye of Longview; former mother-in-law, Mrs. Jack Skipper of Kilgore; two nieces, Lisa Johnson and Lauren Skipper; and two nephews, Cody Skipper and J.T. Skipper.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night, March 17, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Kilgore or the Kilgore College Athletic Department for the completion of the field house.

ROGER WEATHERSBY
Funeral services for Roger Weathersby, 53, of Longview will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2004 in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery in Longview. Mr. Weathersby passed away Friday in Shreveport.
Roger Weathersby was born July 16, 1950 in Abilene. He had been a resident of the Longview-Kilgore area for over 20 years. Mr. Weathersby was currently working in Kilgore at The Donut Shop, but had worked many years at Axelson Company and also had worked at many restaurants around the area.
Mr. Weathersby is survived by his wife, Linda Weathersby of Longview; one son, Andy Weathersby of Liberty City; four step-sons, Eddy Eades and his wife Mary of Gilmer, Billy Eades and his wife Audra of Kilgore, Joe Boehm of Livingston and James Phillips and his wife Rhonda of Kilgore; step-daughters, Shirley Holman of Liberty City and Lisa Bloomfield and her husband James of Arlington; one sister, Rebecca James and her husband Harvey of Abilene; brother, Russell Weathersby of Tuscola; 10 grandchildren, Chris Thornton, Amanda Thornton, Alex Eades, Cody Eades, Travis Eades, Sara Eades, Maegan Eades, Sarah Gregg, Carl Gregg and Tiffany Phillips; and one great-grandson, William Allen Thornton.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 6.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231, Shreveport Veterans Hospital. or the National Arthritis Foundation.

GILBERT TYSON DUNCAN
Funeral services for Gilbert Tyson Duncan, 59, of Overton will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2004 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Glover officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery.
Mr. Duncan died Friday, April 2, 2004 at his residence. He was born July 3, 1944 in Henderson to the late Derwin Rondell and Carrie Mae Sutton Duncan. He lived in Overton most all his life and attended Overton schools and graduated in 1962. He was a truck driver and he worked for Tyler Pipe as a forklift operator and he was a member of the West Erwin Baptist Church of Tyler.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Seth Duncan, in 1992.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Allen and Holly Duncan of Van Alstyne; a brother and sister-in-law, Rondell and Shera Faye Duncan of Overton; four grandchildren, Tanya Duncan, Lane Duncan, Chase Duncan and Tara Duncan; and a great-uncle.
Pallbearers will be Gregg Thompson, Jonathan Duncan, Kenneth Beggs, Lee Craig, Douglas Hale and Dewayne McMillian.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, April 3.

PHYLLIS V. JOHNSON
Services for Phyllis V. Johnson, 35, of Henderson will be 4 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2004 at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Williams, Gerald Johnson and Min. Willie Centers officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Henderson, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Ms. Johnson died Thursday, April 1, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
She was a life-long resident of Henderson, born there Dec. 14, 1968 and graduating in 1987. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
She is survived by her parents, Ray and Mary Johnson of Henderson; grandfather, Ray Johnson of Henderson; sister, Connie and Nathan Caraway; two nephews, Chase Johnson and Nigel Caraway; a host of aunts, uncles, two special cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Min. Willie Centers, Darwin Pauley, Jeffery Henson, Kelvin Mallard, Michael Allen, Charles Sheppard, Patrick Cooper, Tim Hogan and John Clay.
Honorary pallbearers will be Majellian Stein, Bill Johnson, Albert Ross, Charles Hicks, Nakia Rudd, Nathan Caraway, Brandon Cooper, Leonard Kemp and Mark Edmonds.
Members of the Henderson High School Class of 1987 will serve as flower bearers.

ARTHUR NEWSOME
Funeral services for Arthur “Art” Newsome, 59, of Bedford will be 12:30 p.m. Monday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Mr. Newsome passed away Thursday, April 1, 2004 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at the funeral home.
Art was owner/partner of A&R Drywall for 10-plus years and was previously owner/partner of NBC Construction. Art enjoyed construction for most of his life. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was blessed with many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Retta Newsome; children, Rick Newsome and wife Joy of Fort Worth, Tracy Newsome and wife Lynda of Kilgore, Debbie Gann and husband Ronnie of Fort Worth, Tammy Mahan and husband Milo of Cleburne and Stacy Newsome of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Lyman and husband Gary; brothers, Richard Newsome and Bert Newsome; and several nephews and nieces.

SYBLE WALLER
Services for Syble Waller, 85, of Kilgore were 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Byron Allen and Freeman Pierce officiating. Burial was in the Crims Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Waller died Thursday, April 1, in Kilgore.
Pallbearers were Monty Gore, Aaron Gore, Roger Shotwell, Dan Waller, Brian Waller, Kyle Waller, Brian Weaver and John Traywick.
She was born Dec. 17, 1918 in Rusk County. Mrs. Waller was a member of the Laird Hill Baptist Church and a hairdresser for many years.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Glenda (Dene) Waller of Kilgore; daughter and son-in-law, Frankie and Mike Shotwell of Kilgore; daughter-in-law, Jimmie Faye Waller of Laird Hill; sister, Willie Moreland of Irving; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; many grand and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

NEW LONDON — Services for Mary Bilbrey, 42, of New London, are pending with East Texas Funeral Home in Longview.
Mrs. Bilbrey died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
