ARMESTELLA ANTHONY
Services for Armestella Anthony, 76, of Henderson will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Reese Shiloh CME, Henderson, with the Rev. Victory P. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Crow Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Mrs. Anthony died April 27 at her home in Henderson. She was born July 15, 1927 in Rusk County. A lifelong resident, she attended Pine Hurst public school and Union Spring public school. She was a member of Reese Shiloh CME.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Cora Sanders, and five brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Jessie D. Anthony of Henderson; two sons, Rlee Anthony and Donnie Anthony, both of Henderson; four daughters and one son-in-law, Ardell and Dwyane Burnett of Rowlett, Jessie Louise Linthicum of Mt. Enterprise, Cora Lee Garland and Arma Faye Burnett, both of Henderson; and five sisters-in-law, Myrtle Oliver, Ella Anthony, Myrtle Anthony, all of Henderson, and Ella Ree Moore of Orange and Cristine Reed of Tyler; one brother, Alonza Dessie Oliver of Henderson; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be L.B. Starling, Perry Starling, Dieion Coleman, Eric Linthicum, John Linthicum and Michael Linthicum. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Anthony, Floyd Starling, Dwyane Burnett, Anthony Burnett, Tommy Burnett and Brady Anthony.
GLADYS DELYNNE (FLORENCE) LIGHT
Services for Gladys Light, 83, of Kilgore were 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston. Mrs. Light passed away Thursday at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
Gladys Florence Light was a longtime resident of the Overton-Kilgore area and was born Feb. 18, 1921, daughter of the late Douglas and Eva McAfee Florence.
Gladys graduated from Overton High School and attended Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville and the University of Texas in Austin. After her marriage to Thomas Light in 1943, she moved to Houston where she resided for 28 years. While in Houston, Gladys was employed by the Houston Independent School District as a substitute school teacher and she was a charter member of Rose Garden Methodist Church. She returned to the Overton-Kilgore area in 1971 where she resided until her death.
Gladys was a selfless, caring soul who loved to laugh and tell stories. She was always encouraging, never critical, quick to praise and appreciative of all kind acts. Beloved by all those who knew her, she will forever be missed.
Mrs. Light is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas of Kilgore; son, Thomas L. and wife LaVerne Light of Spring; daughter, Delynne and husband Alex Cheyney of Spring; daughter, Lydia and husband Vic Sheedy of Kilgore; son, Richard and wife Kathy Light of Magnolia; and sister, Frances Wylie of Midland.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Lloyd, Doyle and James Florence.
MARY FLORENCE CRAWFORD
Funeral services for Mary Alexander Crawford, 70, of Longview will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. J.H. Creal officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Springs Cemetery in Scottsville. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.
Mary Florence was born Feb. 25, 1934 to Johnnie and Rachel King Alexander in Scottsville. She departed this earthly life on June 12, 2004 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
At an early age she united with Shiloh Baptist Church in Scottsville and later joined Longview Baptist Temple where she remained a member until her demise.
She attended Village Creek schools, and her adult life was spent as a devoted wife and homemaker, loving sister and friend to all she knew.
Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Johnnie Faye Allen; and four brothers, Jack, Perry, Floyd and Smith Alexander.
She leaves to cherish her memories six sisters, Angie Davis, Gladys Mayo, Lubtra Pittman and Ruth Turner, all of Longview, Eula Alexander of Marshall and Minnie Lee Davis of Scottsville; a brother, Raymond Alexander of Oakland, Calif.; one uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be from noon until 6 p.m. on Friday, June 18, at Victory Funeral Services.

FAYE BRYANT-BARRETT
Funeral services for Faye Bryant-Barrett will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. K.B. Henry officiating. The family hour will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, in the Stanmore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in New Hope Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Barrett’s survivors include two brothers and their spouses, Robin and Ann Bryant and Horace and Wilma Bryant, all of Kilgore; sisters, Judy Cotton of Kilgore and Maye Raye of Kansas City, Mo.; a nephew, John Bryant of Kilgore; and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.

NICHOLE PATTON GRIFFIN
Services for Nichole Patton Griffin, 19, of Kilgore were 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Rev. Mike Maxwell officiating. Nichole passed away Sunday, June 13, in Kilgore.
Pallbearers were John David, Steven Patty, Lee Dickerson, Chris Griffin, Chris Malone, Brandon Parrish, Dano Offild and Eddie Patton.
Nichole was born in Longview on Oct. 26, 1984, the daughter of Billy and Julie Patton. She attended Kilgore schools and Kilgore College. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter and sister. Nichole enjoyed life to the fullest and especially spending all the time she could with her husband and daughter. She will always be remembered as a Daddy’s girl.
Nichole is preceded in death by her father, Billy Patton; two grandfathers, James Donald Patton and John Russ; and a great-grandfather, Winston Fleming.
Nichole is survived by her husband, Jameson Griffin of Kilgore; daughter, Jadyn Daelynn Griffin of Kilgore; mother, Julie Patton of Kilgore; two brothers, Donald and Matthew Patton, both of Kilgore; mother-in-law, Melba and husband Mike Miles of Kilgore; father-in-law, J.D. and wife Lynda Griffin of Hooks; grandparents, Nadine Russ of Kilgore and Jane and Gene Powell of Longview; great-grandmother, Mattie Fleming of Tyler; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Almond Gholston, 89, of Gladewater are pending with Dearion & Davis Funeral Parlor. He died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 in a Longview hospital.
Formerly from Daingerfield, Mr. Gholston once taught at Kilgore High School and was head football coach.
HORACE L. REED
Graveside services for Horace L. Reed, 72, of Kilgore will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at the Kilgore Cemetery with Rev. Paul Silvey and Rev. John Grandberg officiating. Mr. Reed went to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005 in Longview.
He was born July 22, 1932 in Kilgore to Richard and Elsie Reed. He was a 1950 graduate of Kilgore High School. He served our country for two years in the United States Army. The Reeds lived in Orange from the mid 1950’s to 1969. Mr. Reed retired as a truck driver for Mobley Company. He was a member of the Stone Ridge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Peggy Cubine.
He is survived by his wife, Marline Reed of Kilgore; five daughters, Linda Brown of Kilgore, Rosemary and Jack Redfern of Marshall, Barbara and Gary Hassell of Kilgore, Diane and Rusty Bumgardner of Kilgore, Terry and Bill Smidansky of Spring; a brother, Ronald and Robyn Reed of Winnsboro; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday between 6 and 7:30 p.m.

ERMA L. STEWART DENNIS
Services for Erma L. Stewart Dennis, 70, of Henderson will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at St. Clark Baptist Church in Henderson with Rev. James People, James Coleman, Larry Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She died Feb. 8, 2005 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
She was born Sept. 10, 1934 in Karnack to Quitman Richardson and Katie Cole. She attended Dallas independent School District and was a member of St. Clark Missionary Baptist Church. She was a successful entrepreneur in the beauty industry for 30 years while sharing her hospitality with Jordan Health Services for 18 years.
She served on the mission and decorating committe at St. Clark Baptist Church until her health failed.
She is preceded in death by her father; step-father, Elzie Cole; brother, John Elbert Wilson and sister, Bernice Holins.
She is survived by mother, Katie Cole of Henderson; son, Dennis and Ann Foutz of Dallas; four daughters, Sandra and Ken Strong, Vernice and Danny Renfro, Bernice and Stan Cameron, all of Henderson and Pamela and Ken McCraney of Dallas; two brothers, Earl Artebury of Overton and Charles Richardson of Dallas; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kerry Hollins, Donald Hollins, Ronnie Bell, Daryl Hollins, Dean Terry and Terrion O’Brien.

Hunts Sr., Homer Rockmore Sr., James Brown and Pastor S.H. Jemerson officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Memorial Garden in Henderson under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. She died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005 at Henderson Memorial Hospital in Henderson.
She was born April 4, 1916 in Rusk County to Abe and Katie Pollard Smith. She attended Harmony Hill school and was lifelong resident of Rusk County and a member of Mother Zion Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ezell Pouncy, Aaron Garrett, Norman Smith, Thomas Smith and Joe (Pete) Smith.
She is survived by son, James Mills Jr. of Dallas; three daughters, Allie Jean Green of Los Angeles, CA, Clara Bell and Andrew Dewberry and Opal Faye and James Sparkman, all of Henderson; three sisters, Alva and Alvin Stewart, Nessie Wallace, all of Tyler and Veris and Floyd Williams of Dallas; 24 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 789 great-grandchildren; 20 step-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; eight step-great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Smith Jr., Roy Smith, L.D. Coleman, Billy Jo Smith, Charles Harden, Fairy Anthony and Randy Wilborn.
