JACK PATTILLO
Services for Jack Pattillo, 84, will be Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Lindstrom officiating with entombment to follow in Lakeview Mausoleum. He died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005.
He was born Feb. 7, 1921 in Ardmore, OK. to Lola and Jack Pattillo Sr. He graduated from East Mountain High School where he was selected Best Al-Around Boy for three consecutive years. He was a member of the All-District football team and graduated at the head of his class.
He served in the navy for six years and spent most of his duty in submarine service. He distinguished himself by being the youngest man to achieve the rank of Chief Petty Officer. At the end of World War II, he attended University of Oklahoma and was a member of Pi Epsilon Tau fraternity and an honor graduate in 1950. After graduation he worked for Gulf Oil for 33 years and retired in 1982 and moved to Longview.
He was a member of Winderfield United Methodist Church where he served on the board, was a member of Masonic Lodge in Rosneath, Scotland and Eastern Star in Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Gerald; and sister, Faye Denton.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Posey Pattillo; son, Dr. Phillip Pattillo of Tomball; daughter, Dinah Joest of Lewisville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Winterfield United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association or All American Home Care.
JESSIE FORTSON WARREN
Funeral services for Jessie M. Warren, 81, of Kilgore will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at Sabine High School Auditorium in Liberty City with Rev. Byron Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Claude Fortson Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services. She died Feb.10, 2005 at Laird Memorial Hospital in Kilgore.
Mrs. Warren was born Feb. 16, 1923 in Kilgore, to Claude and Joyce Palmer Fortson. She graduated high school from North Chapel School in Kilgore and later graduated from Texas College and Stephen F. Austin University.
Her teaching career of 42 years in the North Chapel Schools, Wilmer Hutchings School District in Dallas, Maggie B. Hudson and Judson Middle schools in the Longview Independent School District, Sabine School District and briefly at Jarvis Christian College allowed her to do what she loved most, working with children.
Upon retiring from public schools, she remained active with teaching by tutoring GED applicants and often substituted in area school districts.
Being a woman ahead of her time she possessed an entreprenurial spirit with ownership of K&W Bonding Company, Kilgore Wash Shop and a cattle and farming business.
She started her Christian life at an early age at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and later became an active member of Mt. Pleasant CME Church. She devoted her life to children and young adults through her church activities and teaching career.
She worked in all auxiliaries in the church, having served as Missionary president, Stewardess president, choir president, Sunday School teacher, and presently serving as president of East Texas Region Board of Christian Education. She also worked on the district level as youth director and served on the annual conference stewardess board. Her memory will be cherished by those who loved her.
Her parents and husband, Kermit Harold Warren, all preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Uvalyia Nicks of Kilgore; Danice Warren of Longview; three sons and daughter-in-law, Wilfred Earl and Ardry Burger, II of DeSoto; Richard Burger and Dexter Burger both of Mesquite; three sisters, Marion Strong, Beadie Pentecost, and Ina Bell Fortson, all of Kilgore; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeremiah and Alice Fortson of Dallas; Calvin and Katherine Fortson, Sr.; C.D. and Maxine Fortson, Sr., and Bobby E. and Lora Fortson all of Kilgore; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, foster children, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be from noon until 8 p.m. with family visitation 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Victory Funeral Services. Final public viewing will be Saturday, February 12 at noon to 12:45 p.m at Sabine High School Auditorium.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Mt. Pleasant CME Church and mailed to 868 Green Blackmon Road, Kilgore, TX 75662.

JACKIE ROY PYLE
Jackie Roy Pyle, born Aug. 11, 1944, died Feb. 8, 2005.
He is survived by his mother Louise Spann Pyle of Kilgore; son David and Colby Pyle; two grandsons; daughter, Kim and Dyson Luker; three granddaughters; one sister, Suzanne Chapman; three brothers, John and Betty, Robert and LaKaye and Scott and Tammy Pyle; many loving uncles, aunts, cousins and numerous friends.
HORACE L. REED
Graveside services for Horace L. Reed, 72, of Kilgore will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at the Kilgore Cemetery with Rev. Paul Silvey and Rev. John Grandberg officiating. Mr. Reed went to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005 in Longview.
He was born July 22, 1032 in Kilgore to Richard and Elsie Reed. He was a 1950 graduate of Kilgore High School. He served our country for two years in the United State Army. The Reeds lived in Orange from the mid 1950’s to 1969. He retired as a truck driver for Mobley Company. He was a member of the Stone Ridge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Peggy Cubine.
He is survived by his wife, Marline Reed of Kilgore; five daughters, Linda Brown of Kilgore, Rosemary and Jack Redfern of Marshall, Barbara and Gary Hassell of Kilgore; Diane and Rusty Bumgardner of Kilgore, Terry and Bill Smidansky of Spring; a brother, Ronald and Robyn Reed of Winnsboro; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday between 6 and 7:30 p.m.

NORMAN OTIS (N.O.) FOX SR.
Funeral services for Norman Otis (N.O.) Fox Sr., 73, were Feb. 10, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He will be buried at Memory Park with full Masonic rites following the services. He died Feb. 5, 2005 from lung and liver cancer.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen and Robert Frazier of Rockwall; son (Rusty) Norman Fox Jr. of Bedford; brother, Marlin and Reba Fox; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law; two grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
FLOYD HACKEY
Graveside services for Floyd Hackey, 61, of Tyler were 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb.11, 2005 at the Kilgore Cemetery with Sean Eddington officiating. Mr. Hackey died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005 in Tyler.
He was born June 19, 1943 in Kilgore to Frank and Clara Hackey. Floyd attended Kilgore public schools. He worked in the home remodeling and construction business most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Wintters Hackey of Tyler; three children, Johnny Ray Hackey of Crystal River, FL, Rebecca Eddington of Liberty City, Deborah Satcher of Longview; one sister, Donna Sue Wells of Inman, SC; nine grandchildren; several niece; and nephews.

Services for Joe D. Jones, 84, of Henderson were Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005 at 2 p.m. in Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Minister J.b. Williams, Rev. Nathaniel Jones, Bro. Ernest Mills. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. He died sunday, Feb. 6, 2005 at his residence.
He is survived by one son, Robert and Melissa Johnson of Longview; one daughter, Vera E. Johnson of Henderson; one step-daughter, Mary Lee Harper, Longview; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services for Frankie Charlene Lacy, 63, of Overton, formerly of Kilgore were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2005 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Rev. Harry LaGrone officiating. Burial followed in Danville Cemetery. She died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler.
She is survived by two daughters; son; five sisters; two brothers; six grandchildren; one great-grandson, several nieces, nephews and other loving family.
LETA L. DENMON
Services for Mrs. Leta L. Denmon, 76, of Kilgore will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the afternoon at Lighthouse Church of Liberty City with the Rev. Jake Wommer officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Denmon passed away Saturday, March 12, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
She was born June 28, 1928 in Lone Oak daughter of the late Jim and Verna Morgan. She had been a resident of the Kilgore area since 1943. Mrs. Denmon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church of Liberty City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Morgan and Howard Morgan; granddaughter, Dana Kristene Denmon.
Mrs. Denmon is survived by husband of 61 years, Fred Alton Denmon Sr.; two daughters, Shirley and Thomas Odom, Patsy and Billy Eason, all of Liberty City; son, Fred Alton Jr. and Deborah Denmon of Kerrville; two brothers, Jim Morgan of East Mountain and Dale Morgan of Liberty City; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jerome Denmon, Curtis Denmon, Ross Eason, Glen Odom, Eddie Biggs and Billy Morse.
Clarence King
OVERTON — Services for Clarence King, 81, of Overton will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001 at the Harmony Pirtle Baptist Church in Overton with Rev. Gary Walker, Dexter Upshaw and W.J. Profit officiating. Burial will follow in the Star Memorial Family Cemetery in Overton under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Henderson.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Jones, Eugene Nelson, Lewis Kelly, Danny Pitts, Victor Malone, Danny Harris, Mack Pierce and Rex Youngblood.
Mr. King died Wednesday, April 25, 2001 in Kilgore.
He was born March 30, 1920 in Pledger and attended the Bethlehem Community School and Powell High School. He was a resident of the Laird Hill community and a member of the Kilgore Baptist Church for 52 years and the New Birth Fellowship Church. He was a teacher and was employed with the Gregg County, Texas Agriculture Extension Service. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Prairie View A&M and seven Battle stars from the U.S. Air Force where he was a member of the Tuskegee Airmen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lula King; and his wife, Ora Beatrice Star King.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Vanessa King of DeSoto; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jesse Yates of Conroe; one brother, William King; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruberta and Aubrey Harris, Lee Ella Batties and Margaret Ruth Payton; six grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Cassie Mae Star King of Dallas and Lillian King.
The body will lie in state from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
