Services for Ruth McBride Hill, 73, of New Boston, formerly of Kilgore were 2 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel withRev. Donald Beebe officiating. Burial will follow in Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Hill died Sunday, March 6, 2005 in New Boston as the results of an automobile accident.
She is survived by two sons; three daughters; three brothers; a sister; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
THELMA CLEO LOPER
Graveside services for Thelma Cleo Loper, 88, of Overton will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005 with the Rev. Don McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at New London under the direction of Burrows Overton Funeral Home. She died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Sunshine Nursing Home in New London after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 15, 1916 in Overton to William Thomas and Lena Frances McCarty Harris. She lived most of her life in Overton and was a charter member of Overton Missionary Baptist Church, where she kept the church nursery for over 20 years and sang in the choir. She retired from Overton schools after 29 years as assistant manager of the school cafeteria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Foster Loper in 1985.
She is survived by two daughters, Eloise and H.A. hughes of San Antonio, Joann and Chuck Stayton of Overton; sister, Martha (Peggy) Melton of Overton; brother, Milton Harris of Grandview; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2005 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
CLODELL CLAYTON
Services for Clodell Clayton, 97, of Kilgore will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Elizabeth A. Wourms officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood Cemetery, Henderson. Mrs. Clayton died at her home, Wednesday, March 9, 2005.
Mrs. Clayton was born March 15, 1907 in Santa Anna to Herbert and Ruby Jackson. She and her husband, Roy E. Clayton Sr., retired to Lake Cherokee in 1965. Mrs. Clayton moved to Kilgore in 1985.
She is preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by daughter, Stephanie and Dan W. Upson, DVM of Manhattan, KS; son, Roy E. Clayton Jr. of Manhattan, KS; one brother, Joe Jackson of Kilgore; two sisters, Mona Graham of Emerald Bay, Sue Ford of Shreveport, LA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Services for Mrs. Danahy will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2004 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Revs. James Henderson and Larry Darnell officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery.
She was born May 27, 1904 in Caster, La. May 27,1904 to Charles Foster Guin and Georgia Pardue Guin.
She was a very talented woman with lots of interests. Upon the death of her husband in 1987, she bought a home in Kilgore. she joined the Eastview Baptist church and became a loyal member.
She is survived by her son, Jerry and Fay Danahy Jr.; grandsons, Paul Danahy and Michael and Cheryl Danahy; remaining relatives and friends.
Visitation will precede the funeral services from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

WILLIE AMOS LEE
Funeral services for Willie Amos Lee, 85, of Overton will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Overton with Rev. Willie Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Overton City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Henderson. Mr. Lee died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
He was born Oct. 17, 1919 in Rusk County to Jim and Fannie Lee. He attended Rusk County public schools, was a life-long resident of Overton and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Overton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Idellia Lee and glowdean Lee; one sister, Maggie Thompson; three brothers, Motley Lee, J.C. Lee and Jim Lee.
He is survived by two sons, Roy and Nelwyn Lee and Ossie Lee, all of Overton; two daughters, Rosie and Sherman Johnson and Fannie and Al Garland, all of Overton; one sister, Minnie Ola Kind of Overton; one brother, Ronnie Lee of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home in Henderson.
BRAZLIA LACY
Funeral services for Brazlia Lacy, 92, of Henderson (Big Springs Community) will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Macedonia Church of God in Christ with Elder Larry Johnigan, Rev. Donell Wright, J.B. Williams and Bishop E.R. Starling officiating. Burial will follow in Big Spring Cemetery in Big Spring Community under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Henderson. She died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 27, 1912 in Jacksonville to Vanderbilt and Johnnie Williams. She was a retired cook from Carlisle public schools systerm and a member of Macedonia Church of God in Christ.
She was preceded in death by husband, Tom Lacy Jr.; parents; five children, Steve, Josie, Travis, Katherine and Bobbie; three brothers, Vertis, George and John L.; one sister, Gladys.
She is survived by five children, Bertha, Dollie, Merlene and Bruce Sweeney, all of California, Lovie and Odell Pollard and Bernice and Emmit Osborne, all of Henderson; three sisters, Marie Ree Gossett-Smith of Arizona; Sudie and James Johnson of Santa Barbara, CA., Artaree Adaway of Ft. Worth; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Fredrick Jordan, Eddie Whitaker, Gregory Moreland, Jeffery Henson, Dennis Jordan and Michael Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Macedonia Church of God in Christ.
ALLIE M. SKILLERN
Funeral services for Allie M. Skillern, 83, of Los Angeles, CA formerly of Longview, were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at House of Winston Memorial Chapel in Los Angeles, CA. Burial was in Veterans Cemetery in Los, Angeles. Arrangements were under the direction of House of Winston Funeral Home in California with local directions by Victory Funeral Services.
Allie M. Skillern was born Dec. 20, 1921 to George “Capt” Washington and Safronia Sibley Stoker.
She married Lawrence Skillern June 26, 1944. She lived in Seattle, Washington in the early 1940s and moved to Los Angeles in 1945. She was one of the first women to apply as a police officer in Los Angeles, but society was not ready for female officers. She went on to pursue her education in nursing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank and Prenon Stoker; three sisters, Betty Ann Stoker, Clara C. Moss, Lurine Stoker Moss.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Skillern; daughter, Gwendolyn Skillern Sherrard; sister, Woodie Carroll; brother , Vernon and Betty Stoker of Longview; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
ORVILLE (SKIP) BRANDT
Funeral services for Orville (Skip) Brandt, 94, of Garland are pending with Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Brandt passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2005 in Garland.
Grace Mount McIntosh
Funeral services for Grace Mount McIntosh, 97, will be Friday, April 27, 2001 at 10 a.m. in the Rader Funeral Home, Longview, Texas with the Rev. Martin Foster officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be at Elderville Cemetery, near Gregg County Airport.
Mrs. McIntosh passed away April 25, 2001 at 5:15 p.m. in Highland Pines Nursing Home. She was a retired teacher and exhibitor of china painting.
Mrs. McIntosh was born in Rome, Texas, one of seven children by Martha and Timothy Mount. She attended school at Aransas Pass, Texas and studied at Oklahoma Baptist University. After finishing a Beauty Course, she settled in Kilgore, Texas during the oil boom. Later, she gave up beauty work and started teaching china painting and all kinds of art, a profession she kept for 40 years. After she semi-retired, McIntosh continued to paint and remained active in the arts and other community fields.
She married Kilgore barber Robert Lawrence “Dock” McIntosh, were active members of First Christian Church of Kilgore and together until his death in 1980. In her later years she lived in Peatown Community, near Elderville.
Survivors include one son, Joe D. Jones and daughter-in-law, Ginger of Longview; one daughter, Patricia Jeanne Jones of Marshall; three grandchildren, J.M. Jones of Coushatta, La., Melanie A. McKnight and husband Terry, of Longview, and James T. Jones of Girard, Ill.; one sister, Norma Mount Smith of Oklahoma City; and many nieces and nephews.
Geraldine Hooks Townsend
Services for Geraldine Hooks Townsend, 66, of Overton, will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2001 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Don Beebe officiating.
Mrs. Townsend died Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at her home in Overton.
She was born May 22, 1934 in East Franklin, Penn. She devoted her entire life to her family and their well-being.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Hooks.
Survivors include five sons and a daughter-in-law, Randle and Bonnie Townsend of Liberty City, Larry Townsend of Palestine, Steve Townsend of Kilgore, Leroy Jones of Union Grove and Ralph Jones of Avinger; two sisters, Shirley Kinsey of Kilgore and Peggy Hedrick of Tyler; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ralph and Pat Hooks of Liberty City and Clarence Hooks of Kilgore; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
