James Hollingsworth
Services for James Hollingsworth, 78, of Kilgore are pending with Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.
Mr. Hollingsworth died Thursday morning, Sept. 26, 2002 at his home.

Delroy Fambrough
Graveside services for Delroy Fambrough, 67, of Kilgore will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2002 at the Pirtle Cemetery with the Rev. Dick Cayce officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.
Mr. Fambrough pased away Tuesday morning, Sept. 24, 2002 in Marshall.
He was born March 27, 1935 in Kilgore to Virgil and Blanche Fambrough. He was a member of the Laird Hill Methodist Church. He worked in the oil fields in and around Kilgore for many years. Mr. Fambrough served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1957.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Blanche Fambrough; two brothers, Pete and Virgil Van Fambrough; and four sisters, Bonnie Bass, Dorothy Chappell, Judy Cole and Lousie Morris.
Survivors include his daughter, Evelyn Blanche Carrigan of Odessa; three sisters, Mary Taylor of Kilgore, Norma Horton of Kilgore and Audna Gail Wilke of West Columbia; two grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Eula Mae Gray
Services for Eula Mae Gray, 82, of Kilgore will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 in the Rader Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jarmon Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Gray passed away in Kilgore on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003.
Mrs. Gray was born Oct. 23, 1920 to Forda and Rosie Clay in Oenaville, Texas. She was a member of the Baptist faith and was the former owner of the Montgomery Wards in Kilgore. Mrs. Gray was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Sam E. Gray of Kilgore; daughter Lynette Branch of Sandia, Texas; son Shannon Gray of Kilgore; one brother, Jack Clay of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; three grandchildren, Shane Gibson, Christina Rydbeck and Shahna Gray; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday evening at Rader Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m.

Lois Mason
Services for Lois Mason, 78, longtime proprietor of the famous Country Tavern, will be 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 17, 2003 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Silvey officiating. Mrs. Mason died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003 as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born July 16, 1924 to Short and Gladys Hood in Leesburg. She moved to Kilgore in 1958 and worked as a waitress in several Kilgore restaurants. In 1964 she became a waitress at the Country Tavern. By 1974 she saved enough money to purchase the Tavern. She worked as owner and operator of the Country Tavern until her death.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Mason of Kilgore; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Patty Pilgrim of Henderson; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie Pilgrim of Kilgore; three sisters, Ruth Morris of Pittsburg, Betty Munn of Pittsburg, and Martha Lively of Hurst; three brothers, Willie Hood of Pittsburg, David Hood of Houston, and Billy Hood of Kilgore; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Garry Pilgrim; a daughter, Barbara Williams; her first husband, Herman Pilgrim; her parents, and two brothers, Charles and Earnest Hood.
Memorial contributions should be made to a charity of choice.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home Sunday evening from 4-6 p.m.

DOROTHY EDNEY
Services for Dorothy Edney, 67, of Liberty City will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. G.M. Streun officiating. Burial will follow at the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Edney died Thursday, Sept. 4, in Longview.
She was born March 8, 1936 in Turnertown to Clyde and Verma Vestal. Mrs. Edney worked at the Sabine Dairy Queen for a number of years. She was a member of the New Horizon Church of God in Longview and was a loving homemaker and mother.
Mrs. Edney is survived by her husband, Vernon Ray Edney of Liberty City; sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Kay Edney of Liberty City, Carl and Melissa Edney of Liberty City; daughter, Karen Vickers of Liberty City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Virginia Vestal of Diana, Robert and Leora Vestal of Longview; sister, Margie Hankins of New London; brother-in-law, Clifford Edney of Liberty City; sisters-in-law and their husbands, Frankie and Earl Colvin of Liberty City, Shirley and Don Fields of Arkansas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many, many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 o’clock at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.

W.T. “BILL” WILLIAMS
Memorial services for W.T. “Bill” Williams, 80, of Gladewater will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Gladewater with the Rev. John Newsome and Larry W. Osborne officiating.
Born on Aug. 8, 1923 in Springfield, he died on Monday, Sept. 1. He was a self-employed welder and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Tom and Rose Williams of Tomball and Terry Williams of Andrews; two daughters, Karen Williams Barber of Tyler and Kathy Williams Rafferty of Dallas; four grandchildren; special friend and nephew, Don Williams of Gladewater; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Finley Clinton and Martha Catherine Williams; three sisters, Lucille Barnes, Iris McAfee and Patricia Hollibaugh; and two brothers, Herman Williams and Gerry Williams.

VIVIAN REYNOLDS LEERSTANG
Services for Vivian Leerstang, 90, of Kilgore will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Upshur County, with the Rev. Steve Reynolds officiating. Mrs. Leerstang died Thursday, Sept. 4, in Kilgore.
She was born Sept. 10, 1912 in Union Ridge. She was the daughter of Sidney and Harriet Reynolds, who preceded her in death.
She finished high school in 1932 at Kilgore and married Earnest Leerstang that summer. He preceded her in death in 1965. Mrs. Leerstang was a member of the Gladewater Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She lived in Kilgore 19 years and her health failed, so she lived with her parents about 30 years.
Mrs. Leerstang was helpful with her sickly parents and especially with her nieces and nephews. “Aunt Viv” sat many hours rocking or caring for them with colds, etc., and all of them loved her berry cobblers and other dishes she prepared.
After her parents died she moved into the Gregg Home for the Aged and remained there until her death.
She is survived by a sister, Sue Reynolds Couch of Longview; a sister-in-law, Jane Reynolds of San Angelo; eight nieces and nephews; and many great- nieces and nephews.

GERTRUDE FERGUSON PARKINSON
Services for Gertrude Ferguson Parkinson, 95, of Houston will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at Harmony Pirtle Baptist Church in Overton with the Revs. Carlos Whitaker and Micheal Jarmon officiating. Burial will be in Pirtle Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mrs. Parkinson died Sept. 2 in Dallas. She was born Aug. 14, 1908 in Overton and attended Overton public schools. She spent most of her life in Houston.
A retired nurse, Mrs. Parkinson was a member of Court of Calanthe and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Green and Lizzie Washington, five sisters and four brothers and her husband, Hillard Parkinson Sr.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Mathew Daniels of Tulsa, Okla., Ulysee Allen of Dallas, Marguerite Jernigan of Grand Prairie, Margie Barre of Cedar Hill and a host of other nieces and nephews.
The deacons of Harmony Pirtle Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

DAVID C. FITE
Graveside services for David C. Fite, 78, will be 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at the Longbranch Cemetery with Bro. Jack Runnels of Henderson officiating. Mr. Fite died Friday, Aug. 29, after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 18, 1925 to John Washington and Leola B. Fite in Mims Chapel.
Mr. Fite is survived by his children, B.J. of Freeport, Christine Harvey of Kansas City, Kan., Sue Lynn Fite of Independence, Miss., and George David of Longview; step-children, Gena R. Williams of Kilgore and Gregory E. Williams of Houston; two brothers, L.J. Fite of Longview and William Howard Fite of Tejas Village; a sister, Modelle Bossi of Longview; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives.

THELMA NETTIE MATTHEWS
In celebration of the life of Thelma Nettie Matthews, 86, services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003 at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with a garden committal and burial at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Matthews died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 at Good Shepherd Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Matthews was born Nov. 20, 1917 in Neodesha, Kan., to Elmer and Willa Clark. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Clarence Matthews, during retirement. She was proud to work for Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa, Okla., during WW II as an inspector for C-47 airplanes. She enjoyed attending the First Baptist Church in Kilgore.
Mrs. Matthews will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She has resided in the Kilgore area for nearly 40 years, coming from Missouri. She was the first of two children. Her husband, Clarence Matthews, and sister, Dorothy Jean Baughman, preceded her in death. Thelma will be missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lee Matthews of Longview and Beverly Joane Matthews of Longview; one son, Mike Matthews of Longview; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Matthews; three grandchildren, Haley and Jeffrey Matthews of Longview, Jacob Austin Dukes of Liberty City; special friends and co-workers of Matex Wire Rope Company of Kilgore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
Family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening, Monday, Dec. 15, 2003.

JAMES R. HENSON
Funeral services for James R. Henson, 62, of Kilgore are pending at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mr. Henson died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003.

JAN “DUTCH” BEKET
Memorial services for Jan “Dutch” Beket, 69, of Henderson will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, with the Rev. Atwell Hankins officiating.
Mr. Beket died Sunday, Feb. 8, in Tyler. He was born Aug. 13, 1934 in Rotterdam, Holland, to Jan and Geertruida Lukas Beket and had been a resident of the United States since 1957.
He had served in the Dutch Armed Forces and had been employed by Southwest Tank.
He married Margaret McDonald in Henderson on Feb. 4, 1989.
A sister, Wilhelmina Syslo, also died Feb. 8, 2004.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Margaret McDonald Beket of Henderson; five daughters, Lenneke Maguire of New Paltz, N.Y., Ingrid DaCosta of Rutherford, N.J., Desiree Esposito of Hillsborough, N.J., Lorri Kay Hare of Pittsburg and Audra Lynn Oldham of Henderson; son, James Mark Spaw of Florida; mother, Geertruida Beket of Venice, Fla.; sister, Riet DeVry of the Netherlands; and 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
