AMY ELIZABETH BARNETT
Services for Amy Elizabeth Barnett, 93, of Kilgore will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dick Stagner officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rusk County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Barnett went to be with the Lord Thursday, Nov. 4. She is now with many loved ones who have gone before her including her husband John who died seven years previously.
She was born March 28, 1911 in Texarkana, Ark., daughter of the late Charles and Mary Shuflin. Elizabeth and John moved to Kilgore in 1942 where they lived, worked and raised their two children. She was born the second oldest of nine children of a Baptist preacher. Her family roots were very important to her. Nursing was Elizabeth’s life and passion. While pediatrics was her first love she held many positions at the Roy H. Laird Hospital in Kilgore, including Director of Nurses, Head of Pharmacy and Emergency Room. In 1979 the District 25 Nurse’s Association honored her as “Nurse of the Year.” She also did private duty nursing and concluded her career working weekends at several local nursing homes. Elizabeth was very active in her professional organizations, community and was a longtime member of the Eastview Baptist Church. The Alzheimer’s disease slowed her pace and she has been in a nursing home the past 10 years. Elizabeth made this world better because of her dedicated service as a registered nurse, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a sister. She was loved and will be missed.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Kennedy and her husband Jim of Grapeland; a son, John Jr. and his wife Joy of Gladewater; grandchildren, Sherri, James and Michael Kennedy, Tim and Paul Barnett and Stan Hall; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Lundquist of Jasper; and a brother, Charles Shuflin of Bossier City, La.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Wednesday morning at Rader Funeral Home.

YVONNE GOODWIN
Services for Yvonne Goodwin, 85, of Liberty City were held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Liberty City with the Revs. Bruce Wells and Harry Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Crim’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mrs. Goodwin died Saturday, Nov. 6, in a Kilgore hospital.
Pallbearers were Phillip Little, John Funk, Lloyd Lindsey, Harold Wheat, James Ray and Charlie Reardon.
She was born June 1, 1919 in Henderson, the daughter of the late James and Nellie Christian. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sojourners Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Liberty City.
Her husband, Burl Edison Goodwin, and grandson, Mark Phillips, precede her in death.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Dianne and Travis Phillips of Houston and Sandra Goodwin of Longview; a son and daughter-in-law, Melvyn Ray and Virginia Goodwin of Liberty City; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several other loving friends and family.
LARRY RAY PIERCE
Funeral service for Larry Ray Pierce, 51, of Kilgore will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mr. Pierce passed away Monday, Nov. 8, in a Longview hospital.
He was born March 21, 1953 in Kilgore, son of Harold and Cleo Pierce. Larry graduated from Kilgore High School in 1971. After graduation from high school he joined the United State Navy and later went to work for the United States Postal Service in Dallas.
He is survived by his mother, Cleo Pierce; two brothers, Harold Pierce and his wife Pearlene of Deberry and Tommy Pierce and his wife Susan of Carthage; sister, Judy Ellerd of Kilgore; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, along with a host on loving family and friends.
His father, Harold Pierce Sr., preceded Larry in death.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 until 7:30 p.m.
Mr. L.E. Ostrom
Mr. L.E. Ostrom age 94 of Kilgore, Texas died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002 in a Longview, Texas hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1907 in Wetumak, Okla. to the late James Arthur and Clara Helen Seay Ostrom, he had been a resident of Kilgore since 1956. He owned and operated L.E. Ostrom Oil Company in Longview for many years, and he continued to work until his death. He enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife. On Sept. 5, 1930 he married Beatrice Lola Martin in Borger, Texas.
Among his survivors are his beloved wife of 72 years Bea Ostrom of Kilgore, Texas; a grandson, Dallas Ostrom of Dallas, Texas; a great-grandson, Brandon Ostrom of Keller, Texas; three nephews, Bob Ostrom of Longview, Texas, Bob Martin of Tulsa, Okla., and Larry Jolly of Houston, Texas; six nieces, Cammille Hankamer of Houston, Texas, Lavon Cabiness of Borger, Texas, Elnita Stanley of Nacogdoches, Texas, Carolyn Evans of Houston, Texas, Gwendolyn Ostrom of Amarillo, Texas, and Ellen Claire Ostrom of Bristow, Okla.
He was preceded in death by one son, James Robert Ostrom in 1977.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Those who wish to make memorial contributions may do so to Cal Farley’s Boy’s Ranch. Services are under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
Samuel Russ Jackson
HARLETON — Graveside services for Samuel Russ Jackson, 67, of Harleton, were 2 p.m. today, Sept. 9, 2002 at Center Cemetery in Harleton with Rev. Leonard Nickels officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of East Texas Funeral Home in Longview.
Mr. Jackson died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002 in a local hospital.
He was born Oct. 13, 1934 in Sulphur Bluff to Jesse and Fannie Bell Jackson. He was a brick mason and served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Jackson of Harleton; daughters, Linda Medders of Nevada, Texas and Sandra Renee Jackson of Harleton; son, David Michael Sessom of Kilgore; brothers, Jesse Jackson of Point and Archie Jackson of Longview; sisters, Frankie Denard of Gladewater and Janice King of Hubbard; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Delroy Fambrough
Graveside services for Delroy Fambrough, 67, of Kilgore, will be two o’clock in the afternoon, Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2002 at the Pirtle Cemetery with the Rev. Dick Cayce officiating.
Mr. Fambrough pased away Tuesday morning in Marshall.
Mr. Fambrough was born March 27, 1935 in Kilgore to the late Virgil and Blanche Fambrough. He was a member of the Laird Hill Methodist Church. He worked in the oil fields in and around Kilgore for many years. Mr. Fambrough served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1957.
His daughter Evelyn Blanche Carrigan of Odessa; three sisters, Mary Taylor of Kilgore, Norma Horton of Kilgore and Audna Gail Wilke of West Columbia; two grandchildren, Erin Rashell Carrigan and Kaitlin Rose Carrigan; as well as several nieces and nephews survive Mr. Fambrough.
His parents, Virgil and Blanche Fambrough; two brothers, Pete and Virgil Van Fambrough and four sisters, Bonnie Bass, Dorothy Chappell, Judy Cole and Lousie Morris preceded him in death.
The Fambrough family will receive friends Wedensday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
Billie Stewart Reynolds
Services for Billie Stewart Reynolds, 91, of Kilgore are pending with Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
Mrs. Reynolds died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002.
Libbie Joyce McCarty Nealy
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Services for Libbie Joyce Nealy, 51, of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Kilgore, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003 at Greater Bethel Baptist Church in Los Angeles, Calif. with Rev. Earl Pleasant officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside, Calif. Arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Mortuary in Los Angeles, Calif. with local arrangements by Victory Funeral Services.
Mrs. Nealy died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003 at her home in Los Angeles, Calif. following a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 22, 1951 in Kilgore to Zollie and Lucille McCarty. At the age of six she accepted Christ and united with Bates Memorial CME Church in Kilgore. After relocating to California in 1977 she united with Greater Bethel Baptist Church in Los Angeles, Calif., where she was a member of the choir and Heritage Club. Her Christian service extended in the community as co-founder of a foreign outreach ministry that ships Bibles overseas. She attended C.B. Dansby High School, where she was a member of the band and Future Homemakers of America. In her junior year she transferred and was a member of the Pep Squad and later graduated from Kilgore High School. After many years of service as a supervisor with Northrupp Grumman, she worked from her home providing computer services for promoters.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Nealy of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons, Lamont and Cantrell Tatum of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandsons; her parents, Zollie and Lucille McCarty of Kilgore; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbie and Ebby DeJohnette of Inglewood, Calif. and Brenda and Rev. Ray Geter of Kilgore; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert and Elizabeth McCarty and Zollie McCarty Jr., all of Longview, Taylor and Jacqueline McCarty and Rev. Michael and Shelia McCarty, all of Kilgore; and a host of relatives and friends.
Henry Dunn Jr.
TYLER — Services for Henry Dunn Jr., 28, of Tyler will be 2 p.m Saturday, Feb. 15, 2002 at the Senior Citizens Building with Brother Malcolm Washington officating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.
Pallbearers will be D’Juan Johnson, Octavio Hollis, Otis Hall, Adrel Hall, Cameran Calloway, and Roderic Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Adreain Dunn, Darien Dunn, Rodric Dunn, Richard Dunn Jr., Willie Dunn Jr., Henry Dunn, Brandon Dunn, and Tradarrius Dunn.
Mr. Dunn died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003 in Huntsville.
He was born July 29, 1974 in Longview. He attended Kilgore High School and John Tyler High School. He was a 20 year resident of Tyler and Smith County and was employed as a laborer.
Survivors include his parents, Dorothy Johnson of Gilmer and Henry Dunn Sr. of Tyler; three brothers, Brandon Dunn of Tyler, Henry D. Dunn of Tyler, and Tradirrus Dunn of Tyler; and one sister, Freddia Dunn of Arlington.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

EARL HOWARD ROBINSON
Services for Earl Howard Robinson, 92, of Kilgore, formerly of El Campo, were 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sven Larson officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Cemetery. Mr. Robinson passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003 at Sunshine Nursing Center in New London.
He was born June 3, 1911 in Beaumont, son of the late James and Neosha Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a member of the Church of Christ Church. He retired from Texaco. Mr. Robinson and his wife of 73 years, Louise, moved from El Campo to Kilgore about two and a half years ago.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Louise Robinson of Kilgore; two sons, Earl Wayne Robinson and wife Alba of Rockville, Md., and Tommy Robinson and wife Darlene of Kilgore; seven grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jamie Silvertooth, Charles Goodwin, Paul Robertson, Scott Frank, Brad Horton and Kevin Green.
DANNY LEE GROSS
Graveside services for Danny Lee Gross, 71, of Overton are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 at the Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville, with the Rev. Ronnie Glover officiating, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mr. Gross died Tuesday, Dec. 9, in Dallas. He was born Aug. 18, 1932 in Fort Worth, to the late Jay Dee and Lillian Kimble Gross. He moved to Overton from Saginaw 14 years ago.
Mr. Gross retired as a dental tech in 1987. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korea, where he served as a medic.
He married Georgia Strine Hammons in Oklahoma March 27, 1971.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Georgia Gross of Overton; six sons and four daughters-in-law, David and Cathy Gross of New London; Ronald Gross of Louisiana; Preston and Melissa Hammons, Roger Hammons and Doyle and Tempy Hammons, all of Granbury, and Ronnie and Becky Hammons of Fort Worth; daughter and son-in-law, Edna and A.J. McClain of Terrell; three brothers, Gene Gross and Allen Gross of Overton and Terry Gross of Saginaw; two sisters, Vida Jeffery and Keller and Dorothy Lutz, all of California; 23 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
