Sharon Skipper Kruse
A private graveside service for Sharon Skipper Kruse, 56, of Lake Cherokee was held at Danville Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Sharon was born June 23, 1945 to Jack and Bette Thomson Skipper and died May 26, 2002.
She was raised in Kilgore and attended Kilgore schools. She graduated from Kilgore High School, Kilgore College and the University of Houston. She received her Masters degree from Stephen F. Austin University.
Sharon taught school for thirty-three years, thirty of those at White Oak Elementary School. She was a member of the Beta Mu chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Retired Teachers Association and Rangerettes Forever.
Her daughter Courtney Kruse Smith, her father Jack Skipper and a brother Jack Thomson Skipper preceded Sharon in death.
She is survived by her husband Don Kruse and a daughter Kelli Kay Kruse of Lake Cherokee; her mother, Bette Skipper of Kilgore; a brother and sister in law, Scott and Kellye Skipper of Longview; a son in law, Casey Smith of Lake Cherokee; sisters in law, Melba Johnson and Ruth Bird and her husband Dwight; two nieces, Lauren Skipper and Lisa Johnson and two nephews J.T. and Cody Skipper.

Denna L. Redd
Services for Mrs. Denna L. Redd, 84 of Kilgore will be Ten o’clock in the morning May 29, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Reverends William L. Baker and James Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mrs. Redd passed away Sunday, May 26, 2002 in Kilgore.
Mrs. Redd was born July 24, 1917 in Seymour, Texas daughter of the late Oley and Effie Sansom. Mrs. Redd was a longtime member of the Eastview Baptist Church in Kilgore. She had been a resident of Kilgore since the 1940’s. Mrs. Redd was a devoted homemaker for her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Redd is survived by her husband M. M. Redd of Kilgore; three daughters and a son-in-law Noreta Florance of Longview, Sheila and Bob Damuth of Longview and Phyllis Waldron of Longview; one brother Oley Sansom, Jr. of Corpus Christi; one sister Wanda Jo Tucker of Rancho Cordova, CA; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Mrs. Redd will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
Gladys Covington
Graveside services for Mrs. Gladys Covington, 93 of Kilgore will be eleven o’clock a.m., Thursday May 30, 2002 at the Kilgore Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Robert Besser officiating. Mrs. Covington passed away Tuesday morning May 28, 2002 at the Gregg Home for the Aged in Kilgore, Texas.
Mrs. Covington was born May 18, 1909 in Traskwood, Arkansas daughter of the late Ira and Ida Sanders. Mrs. Covington was a longtime member of the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. She was a devoted and loving homemaker and mother.
Mrs. Covington is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dan and Carol Covington of Ft. Worth, Texas; several nieces and nephews as well as many loving friends.
Mrs. Covington is preceded in death by her husband Jerry w. Covington who passed away in 1998.
Ethel Lee Bailey
Graveside services for Ethel Lee Bailey, 96, of Kilgore will be two p.m., Friday, May 31, 2002 at the Harmony Hill Cemetery, Rusk County, Texas with the Reverend James Henderson officiating. Mrs. Bailey died Wednesday, May 29, 2002 in Kilgore.
She was born March 17, 1906 in Hill County, Texas. Mrs. Bailey attended Hill County and Tatum Public Schools. She lived in the East Texas area most of her life. Mrs. Bailey was a longtime member of the Eastview Baptist Church of Kilgore.
She is survived by her daughter, Hazel Bryan of Kilgore; son, Tommy Armstrong of Lehi Acres, Florida; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
Cheryl Lynn Hullett
Graveside services for Cheryl Lynn Hullett, 45, of Kilgore will be held Ten A.M., Monday, July 15, 2002 at the Danville Cemetery. Mrs. Hullett died Saturday in a local hospital.
Cheryl was born June 23, 1957 in Dallas the daughter of the late S.L. and Ruth Jackson. She had been a resident of Kilgore for the past 6 years and employed by Wal-Mart.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Hullett of Kilgore; daughter, Tesha Cobb of Dallas; three sisters, Donna Moon of Ladonia, Texas, Sandra McPheters of Maine and Marry Alexander of Kilgore; brother, James Jackson of Wills Point, Texas; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Shirley A. McCullough Fleming
Services for Mrs. Shirley A. McCullough Fleming, 66, of Overton will be ten a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mrs. Fleming passed away Sunday, July 22, 2002 in Longview.
She was born May 14, 1936 in Nathan, Arkansas to the late John C. and Delia Mae McCullough. Mrs. Fleming was retired after working twenty-five years as a line foreman at Consolidated Nursery.
Mrs. Fleming is survived by her husband Loy Fleming of Overton; six children and their spouses Ronnie Fleming of Kilgore, Patricia and Gerardo Estrada of Kilgore, Billy Wayne and Charlotte Williams of Kilgore, Steven Ray Fleming of Longview, Donna Sue Cash of Kilgore and Walter Farrell Vestal, Jr. of New London; five brothers Troy McCullough of Louisiana, Coy McCullough of Arkansas, John McCullough, Jr. of Dallas, Reeder McCullough of Arkansas and Bob McCullough of Arkansas; three sisters Chloe Bailey of Indiana, Nannie Cook of Arkansas and Vickie McMahan of Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and other loving family.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore between six and eight p.m. Tuesday evening.
Clyde William Nicks
Services for Mr. Clyde William Nicks, 72, of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at the Danville United Methodist Church with the Reverend Charles Stevens officiating. Entombment will follow at the Lakeview Mausoleum under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Nicks passed away Saturday, July 20, 2002 in a Tyler hospice facility.
He was born December 9, 1929 in Munday, Texas to the late J.M. and Essie Nicks. Mr. Nicks was a Maintenance Foreman for Conoco Oil and a member of the Danville Masonic Lodge #101. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Nicks is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Winnie Nicks of Kilgore; three children and their spouses Bill and Judy Nicks, Chris and Steve Hancock and Jerry and Barbara Nicks all of Kilgore; five grandchildren; loving and surviving mother, Evia Nicks of Patterson, La.; two brothers Jimmy Nicks of Wichita Falls, TX. and Charles Nicks of Patterson, LA; one sister Jane Riebel of Lafayette, LA.
His sister Nelda Mays and one brother Johnny Nicks preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore between six and seven-thirty p.m. Monday evening.

Charles Maurice "Buddy" Brown
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Maurice “Buddy” Brown, 70 of Kilgore will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Two P.M. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mr. Brown died Sunday in a Tyler hospital.
He was born April 6, 1932 in Junction City, Arkansas the son of the late Ronald and Fronia Brown. Mr. Brown working in construction. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and in his leisure time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He survived by his wife, Sandra Brown of Kilgore; three daughters, Sherry Lochr of Houston, Danna Shelton and Karla Allen all of Houston; four sons, Billy Brown of Kilgore, Charles Brown, Jr. of Houston, Rayford Brown of Houston and Jimmy Brown of Houston; three brothers, Max Kimmel of San Marcos, Roy Kimmel of Pearland and Keith Kimmel of Houston; Fourteen Grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Josh Randall Morgan
Services for Josh Randall Morgan infant son of Amanda Fair and Tim Morgan of Kilgore will be held Two O’clock in the afternoon, Monday, July 29, 2002 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Reverend Riley Pippen officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery.
Josh was born June 29 2002 in Kilgore and passed away July 26 in Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He is survived by his parents Amanda Fair and Tim Morgan of Kilgore; maternal grandparent, Wendy Stafford of Odessa; paternal grandparents, Diane Whitehead, Timothy Morgan, Sr. and Jimmy Webster all of Kilgore; maternal great grandparents, Randy and Margie Fair of Kilgore; maternal great great grandmother, Lois Stevenson of Kilgore; paternal great great grandmother, Elizabeth Whitehead of Kilgore; aunt, Tiffany Morgan of Kilgore; and numerous other loving family.

Rachel Northcutt
Services for Mrs. Rachel Northcutt, 83, of Kilgore will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Danville Cemetery with the Reverend David Hampton officiating. Mrs. Northcutt passed away Saturday, July 27, 2002 at her residence in Kilgore.
She was born July 13, 1919 in Converse, Texas the daughter of the late Edward and Callie Graves. She was devoted mother and wife, a charter member of the Eastview Baptist Church, and was a Past Worthy Matron of The Order of Eastern Star Chapter #630.
She is survived by husband of 62 years Johnnie A. Northcutt of Kilgore; son, Johnnie A. Northcutt, Jr. and wife Linda of Overton; two daughters, Renae Heilman and husband Richard of Albuquerque, NM. and Barbara Northcutt Kline of Longview; granddaughter, Renae Stewart and husband Anthony of Longview; two great grandchildren, John Stewart and Vickey Lynn Stewart both of Longview; brother Marvin Graves of Louisiana .; sister, Dorothy Dempsey of Tulsa, OK.; and several nieces and nephews.
Bobby Eugene Tomlinson
Funeral services for, Bobby Eugene Tomlinson, 63, of Kilgore will be two p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home. Mr. Tomlinson died Saturday, July 27, 2002.
Mr. Tomlinson was born April 9, 1939 in Durant, Oklahoma to Eugene and Jewell Tomlinson. He has been a resident of Kilgore since 1980, worked for Steelman Industries and enjoyed playing golf with his friends.
Mr. Tomlinson is survived by two sons, Robert Tomlinson of Austin, Texas, Russell Tomlinson of Wylie, Texas; brother, Wayne Tomlinson of Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, Wanda Glenn of Tahoka, Texas, Shirley Jenkins of Odessa, Texas, Carol Henry of Midland, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
Wanda "Mimi" Washington
Graveside services for Mrs. Wanda “Mimi” Washington, 72, a twenty nine year resident of Kilgore will be held four o’clock p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2002 at the Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Reverend Rose Wright formerly a Chaplain with Hospice Longview officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. She died Sunday, July 28, 2002 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 7, 1930 in Prescott, Arkansas the daughter of the late Birty Calton and Mary Jane Armstrong. She was a member of the Eastview Baptist Church, The Gregg County Civil Air Patrol and the Order of the Eastern Star #630.
She was preceded in death by her husband Odis “George” Washington.
Survivors include her daughter Deanna Doss of Kilgore; four grandchildren, Sgt. C.D. Washington and his wife Cpl. Bretney Washington, Stephanie Doss, Lisa Renee Doss and Michael Allen Doss; three sisters, Annie McSweeny of Palestine, Cedalia Whitsell of The Colony, Naomi Hardeman of San Antonio; two brothers Oral Armstrong of Trinidad and Murphy Armstrong of San Antonio; several nieces, nephews and other loving family.
