Graveside services for Carl Preston Call, 37, of Kilgore will be ten a.m. Monday, September 23, 2002 at the Pirtle Cemetery. Mr. Call passed away Saturday, September 21, 2002
Mr. Call was born on April 21, 1965, the son of Carl and Mary Call in Tyler, Texas. Mr. Call is preceded in death by his father Carl Call, and his brother Neil Jordan.
He is survived by his mother Mary Call of Leverett’s Chapel; sister Darlene Barnes of Daingerfield; five cousins Dee Carroll of Troup, John Ray of Pitner’s Junction, Jody Ford of White House, Melodee Lower of Troup, Emmalee Lower of Troup; nieces Kayla Barnes of Daingerfield, Amanda Barnes of Daingerfield, and many friends.
Peggy Ruth White
Funeral Services for Peggy Ruth White, 53, of Kilgore will be Two O’clock P.M., Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at the Church of the Nazarene burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. White died Saturday in Kilgore.
She was born April 2, 1949 in Atlanta, Texas. Peggy lived most of her life in Kilgore, she was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was employed with Southern Plastics in Kilgore.
Mrs. White is survived by her parents Eldon and Mildred Leach of Kilgore; three daughters, Robin Rogers and her husband Mike of Overton, Angie Grimes and her husband Stephen of Kilgore and Amy Heisel and husband Mark of Lufkin; two brothers, Jimmy Leach and his wife Mary Lee and Johnny Leach and his wife Judith all of Kilgore; four grandchildren Shelton, Dalton and Hudson Rogers of Overton and Macy Grimes of Kilgore; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home Monday between six and eight p.m.
Mary Alice Moser
Cremation arrangements for Marry Alice Moser, 75, of Overton are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mrs. Moser died Sunday at Laird Memorial Hospital in Kilgore.
She was born November 10, 1926 in Cottonwood, Arizona. Mrs. Moser had been a resident of the Overton area for several years. She had worked at the Overton Small Animal Hospital.
She is survived by her daughters, Judith Cottle and her daughter both of Overton and Gloria Swanier and her two daughters and three sons all of Arp; two sisters, Jeanie Thielsen of Idaho and Martha M. Hass of Oregon and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial be sent to your local humane society in memory of Mary Alice Moser.
Billie Stewart Reynolds
Services for Mrs. Billie Stewart Reynolds, 91, of Kilgore will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2002 at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Reverend Father Stephen Butts officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore, Texas. Mrs. Reynolds died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at her home.
She was born June 26, 1911 in Jackson, Mississippi. Mrs. Reynolds was a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Kilgore Memorial Hospital, worked as an office nurse for D.C. Simmons, M.D. and worked for many years at Roy H. Laird Hospital.
Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Vaughan O. and Sharron L. Stewart of Lake Jackson, Texas; three grandchildren, John W. Stewart of Ft. Worth, Leslie M. Stewart of Austin, Melissa L. Stewart of San Antonio; two sisters, Myrtis Allison of Columbia, Louisiana, Myrtle Slay of Olla, Louisiana; several nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home; and again on Friday afternoon in the Parish Hall of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m.
Jim Hollingsworth
Services for Mr. Jim Hollingsworth, 78, of Kilgore will be held at two o’clock p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Reverend Dr. William J. “Bill” Ingersoll and Father Stephen Butts officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mr. Hollingsworth passed away September 26, 2002 at his home.
He was born April 20, 1924 in North Carolina the son of the late Warren and Eula Hollingsworth. He was a graduate of Kilgore schools and Stephen F. Austin State University and he served his country as a United States Army Air Force pilot in England and France during WWII. He later was a sales representative for Oil States Rubber Company and had real estate investments. Mr. Hollingsworth was very active in the Kilgore community including the Kilgore Historical Preservation Foundation where he served as chairman of the Derrick Committee whereby he was instrumental in recreating the Kilgore derrick skyline.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Jean Wallace Hollingsworth of Kilgore; three nieces Nancy Hawa of Saginaw TX, Melissa Blair of Arlington, Judith Boyd of Arizona and a host of other family and friends.

Daniel Grant Long
Cremation for Daniel Grant Long, 48, of Longview will take place. He died Thursday, September 26, 2002 in Longview, Texas.
Mr. Long was born December 20, 1953 in Batesville, Arkansas. He attended public schools in Beaumont, Texas. Mr. Long owned and operated a radiator shop. He was a self-employed automobile trader. Daniel was loved by his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Danielle Hazelton of White Oak; his mother, Geraldine Long of Kilgore; three sisters, Renae Rossi-Norris of Roy Washington, Pat Foster of Roy, Washington, Janice Galaviz of Kilgore; one brother, Douglas Long of Puyallup, Washington; a granddaughter, Jami Michelle Hazelton of White Oak.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by his father Eulis G. Long.
Fred Thomas Maxwell
Services for longtime East Texas oil and gas entrepreneur, Fred Thomas Maxwell will be two p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Reverend Father Stephen Butts officiating. Entombment will follow in the Lakeview Mausoleum. Mr. Maxwell died unexpectedly at his home Saturday Morning.
He was born March 19, 1940 in Jacksonville, Texas. Fred attended Kilgore High School and Kilgore College. He was an avid golfer. Mr. Maxwell graduated North Texas University on a golf scholarship and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha (Pike) Fraternity. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where he was past Sr. Warden and Vestry Member. Mr. Maxwell was a Past President of the Meadowbrook Country Club and member of the men’s golf association. He was also a member of the Pinecrest Country Club and their golf association.
Mr. Maxwell owned and operated Signal Well Service, Mustang Operating Company, and Yucca Investments, Inc. He was a member of TIPRO (Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners) and a member of AESC (American Energy Service Contractors).
He is survived by his wife, Jo Stewart Maxwell of Kilgore; two sons, Christopher Scott Maxwell of Atlanta, Georgia, Thomas Maxwell, II of Dallas, Texas; his mother, Mrs. W. T. “Billie” Maxwell of Kilgore; two brothers, Bill Maxwell of Liberty City, Don Paul Maxwell of Gladewater; three daughters, Sharman and Bobby Richardson of Longview, K.K. Whittington of Austin, Texas; Randi and Peter Desnoes of Palm Springs, California; grandchildren, Kathleen Brown of Fort Worth, Luke Johnston of Longview; Blaise, Brigitte, Christian and Cameron Desnoes of Palm Springs, California; several nieces and nephews.

Matilda Paige "Tilly" Moore
Matilda Paige “Tilly” Moore, precious infant daughter of Gary and Kelly Cross Moore was taken home to be with God on September 30, 2002. She was loved by so many that never knew her.
A memorial service will be held at two o’clock p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2002 in the chapel of St. Luke’s Methodist Church with the Reverend Robert Besser officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery.
Her birth was welcomed by two brothers, Adam and Nic Moore; grandparents, Lynne Cross, Edwin and Beulah Moore; aunts and uncles, Kim and Terry Boykin and cousin Brad, Angie and Joe Cross, Sue and Charles Moore, Glenda and Danny Moore, Marilyn Clark, Sharon and Carroll Wright and Marc Moore; great aunt Eula Hunter and many other family members and friends.
Her grandfather Bobby Cross precedes her in death.
Audrey Casey Stonecipher
Graveside services for Mrs. Audrey Casey Stonecipher, 85, of Kilgore will be Ten A.M. Friday, October 4, 2002 at Forest Park Cemetery. Mrs. Stonecipher died Wednesday, October 2, 2002 in Kilgore.
Mrs. Stonecipher was born in Pyatt, Arkansas to Melvin and Verna Casey. She lived in Kilgore for the past four years. Mrs. Stonecipher was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kilgore, Hill Toppers, Senior Citizens, and Young at Heart. Her grandchild precedes her in death.
Mrs. Stonecipher is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Gene and Tom Uphus of Kilgore; two sisters Lucille Stolhand of Loleta, Texas, Franice Casey of Motana; two grand children, and one great grandchild.
The family request that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church in Kilgore.

Gladys Mae Colvin
Graveside services for Mrs. Gladys Mae Colvin, 85, of Kilgore will be held at two o’clock p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the Rusk County Memorial Gardens in Rusk County, Texas with the Reverend Wesley Veazy officiating. Burial will follow in the Rusk County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Colvin passed away Friday morning in Kilgore.
She was born May 26, 1917 in Jacksonville, Texas the daughter of the late Walter and Rosie Stanley. She was a member of the Kilgore Missionary Baptist Church in Kilgore.
A son and daughter-in-law Walter and Avis Myers of Kilgore, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren survive her.
Her husband Herbert H. Colvin who passed away in 1964 preceded Mrs. Colvin in death.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from six until eight o’clock p.m.

Virginia Raiborn
Graveside services for Virginia Raiborn, 97, of Kilgore will be Ten A.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at the Lawnhaven Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas with the Reverend Clarence Kelly officiating. Mrs. Raiborn died October 5, 2002 in Kilgore.
Mrs. Raiborn was born January 31, 1905 to Will and Mary Agnes Anderson in Lubbock, Texas. She moved to San Angelo in 1918 and lived on her parents ranch located in the Twin Mountains. In 1925 she married Frank Raiborn in San Angelo. Mrs. Raiborn lived in Fairfield, Ill., Joinerville, Tx., and then moved to Kilgore. She was a member of the Forrest Home Baptist Church in Kilgore.
Mrs. Raiborn is preceded in death by her husband Frank Raiborn in 1979, and her Grandson Steve Duncan in 1999.
Mrs. Raiborn is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law Eloise and Herman Duncan of Kilgore, Elaine and Bill Hamon of Tyler, Tx., Joan and Charlie Cation of Eddy, Tx., Jan and Butch Honeycutt of Mexia, Tx.; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Veta J. Hughes
Funeral services for Mrs. Veta J. Hughes, 86, of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend James Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Hughes died Saturday at Laird Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 12, 1915 in Arkansas the daughter of the late John and Elisa Shannon. Mrs. Hughes had been a resident of Kilgore since 1933, she worked for many years until her retirement in the cafeteria at Chandler Elementary School.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo Brown of Garland, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Bettie Hughes of Houston; five grandchildren, Bob Hughes, Steven Hughes and Gina Worthy all of Houston, Lacy Toler and Wade Brown both of Kilgore; seven great grandchildren; sister, Elsie McDuff of Brighton, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Joe Hughes, two brothers and three sisters, preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were Wade Brown, Bob Hughes, Steve Hughes, Bill Plunkett, Chris Toler and Wade Worthy.
