Dona Annie Mae Gordan
Funeral services for Mrs. Dona Annie Mae Gordan, 87, of Kilgore will be held One O’clock in the afternoon Wednesday, May 5, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with the Reverend Glenn Barton officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery near Tyler. Mrs. Gordan passed away Monday at Laird Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Gordan was born January 6, 1917 in Lamar, Oklahoma daughter of the late James and Ida Lee. She had lived most of her life in Kilgore. Mrs. Gordan was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Kilgore.
She is survived by her husband, Mart Gordan of Kilgore; daughter, Anita Ragan Benson of Kilgore; granddaughter, Taylor Ragan of Kilgore; brother, William Lee of Tucson, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gordan was preceded in death by her first husband Tucker Haralson
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Burkett, David
Mass of Christian Burial for David Chance Burkett 24, of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the Christ the King Catholic Church with Monsignor John Flynn officiating. Burial will follow in Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Burkett died Thursday, May 6, 2004 as the result of a motorcycle accident.
He was born August 7, 1979 in Longview. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and was a loving father and son. Mr. Burkett worked with his father at B and B Auto and was a student at Kilgore College.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Theresa Mathers and Jack Baggett of Kilgore, father and step-mother, Darryl and Carla Burkett of Kilgore; his wife Honey Graham Burkett and a daughter, Makayla Burkett both of Longview; brothers, Chris Burkett and Michael Mason of Kilgore; aunts and uncles, Ty and Darlyne Tiner of Longview, Sam and Cindy Marchbanks of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Raymond and Lisa Rowe of Longview, Keith and Theresa Burkett of Kilgore, Myron Burkett of Plano; numerous cousins and other family members.
Rosary will be recited six p.m. Monday evening with visitation following at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.

Clapp, Reuben
Services for Mr. Reuben L. Clapp, 99, of Kilgore will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at two o’clock p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Kilgore with the Reverends Frank Mathews and David Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Sulphur Springs under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Clapp died Saturday, May 8, 2004 at the Gregg Home for the Aged in Kilgore.
He was born January 7, 1905 in Clinton, Tennessee the son of the late Reverend Hugh Barton and Lilly Brown Clapp. After graduating Baylor University in 1925 Reuben managed H.E.B Food Stores in several cities in Texas including Mission, Del Rio and San Antonio. Reuben later opened his first Piggly Wiggly Grocery Market in Carthage, Texas in 1947 and later, a second store in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He also owned stores in Center, Kilgore and Overton, Texas as well as the Piggly Wiggly Operators Warehouse in Shreveport, Louisiana. Reuben retired from the grocery business in 1984. He remained active in the First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Masters Class and the Senior Adult Group.
Mr. Clapp was preceded in death by his first wife Anne Francis Clapp in 1980 and a daughter Marjorie Anne Clapp in 1996.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years Mary Jane Maxwell Clapp of Kilgore; a daughter and son in law LaRue and Boyce Wood of Kilgore; grandchildren, Glenn Wood and his wife Shanna and their children Hunter, Garrett, Brandon, Brianna and Skylar all of Kilgore; Rue Ann DiVita and her husband Vincent and their children Alexandria and Annabelle all of Houston; step-children, C.E. Maxwell and his wife Kathy and their children Alexandra Maxwell and Amanda White and her husband Mike all of San Antonio; Thelma Ann Pepper and her husband Robert and their children Maxwell and Magen Miller all of Kilgore; James George Maxwell and his wife Kecia and their children Cole, Ryder and Ella Jane Maxwell all of Coppell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday night from six until eight o’clock.

Shelton, Doris
Graveside services for Mrs. Doris Tyler Shelton, 82, of Kilgore, will be held at 2:00 P. M., Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Reverend Jonathan Latham officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mrs. Shelton died Monday, May 17, 2004, at the Gregg Home for the Aged.
Mrs. Shelton was born April 28, 1922 in Rising Star, Texas, the daughter of the late Allie and Agnes Tyler. She was a member of the Forest Home Baptist Church and had owned and operated the Campus Lunch Cafe across from the Kilgore High School.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Benjamin Olvin Shelton, Jr. of Kilgore; a son, Robert “Bob” Benjamin Shelton and his wife, Alice of White Oak; two daughters Ruth Ann Smith and her husband Ronny of Jefferson and Mary Loraine Hearn of Kilgore; two sisters, Cleta Parsons of Wichita, Kansas and Easter Burna Scott of Hewitt, Texas; a brother Jack Tyler of Brownwood, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from six until eight o’clock Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Campbell, Ostine
Services for Etta Ostine Campbell, 77, of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Freeman Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Campbell died Monday, May 17, 2004 in Kilgore.
She was born February 13, 2004 in Center, Texas. Affectionately know as “Granny” to her family and friends, Mrs. Campbell was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose legacy includes their memory of her time as a devoted caregiver to her ailing husband. She loved her family and her church, blessing all who knew her with her quick wit and creative talents as a skilled seamstress and wonderful cook. She took great joy in simple pleasures, tending her flowers and in times past, spending her leisure time on the lake catching crappie and bass.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and David Spinks of Kilgore; son, Dan Campbell of Cedar Hill; two sisters, Bobbie Ryals of Woodville, Nancy Glasgow of Haughton, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Chris and Gail Spinks of Pasadena, California, Brad and Ashley Spinks of Canyon Lake, Texas; great-granddaughter, Savannah Spinks of Canyon Lake; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Campbell.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Wednesday evening between six and seven-thirty.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

Wingfield, Pauline Julia
Services for Pauline Julia Wingfield, 91, of Kilgore will be four p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church with the Reverends Robert Besser and Frank Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mrs. Wingfield passed away Saturday, May 22, 2004 in Kilgore.
She was born September 25, 1912 in Okalona, Arkansas daughter of the late James Sloan and Nancy Elizabeth Clark Wingfield. Mrs. Wingfield attended Henderson-Brown University where she earned a Degree in Education specializing in Mathematics. She also coached girl’s basketball. She worked along side her husband and family at Wingfield Builders Supply of Kilgore for over 54 years. Mrs. Wingfield was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mrs. Wingfield is survived by son and daughter-in-law Jim and Annell Wingfield of Kilgore; a son in law Carl Evans; five grandchildren and their spouses Lance and Amy Wingfield of Kilgore, Matthew Evans of Atlanta, Georgia, Shannon Wingfield of Tyler, David Evans of Columbia South Carolina and Julia and John Mager of Kilgore; four great grandchildren Lisa Anne Wingfield, Ariel Elizabeth Wingfield, Adalina Marie Mager and Amelia Mei Wingfield all of Kilgore as well as a host cousins and other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Lee Wingfield, daughter Sally Jane Evans, four sisters and eight brothers.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Tuesday evening between six and eight.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church 401 E. Main, Kilgore, Texas 75662.

Hjort, Dallas Dale
Dallas Dale Hjort was born November 10, 1920 in Lake Stevens, Washington. He grew up and attended school in Sturgis Michigan. Moving to Texas in 1952 he was a Manufacturers Representative in the tool and die industry until his retirement in 1978.
They moved to Kilgore in 1987 to be closer to his family and spend his days the best way he knew. That was playing golf with Dutch Harris, G.W. Troboy, Karl Edmonds, Jack Skipper, Ed Ferguson, Red Burton, and others.
He was a loving devoted husband and Grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Grace Hunter Hjort and a Grandson Lee Carlton Hunter.
He is survived by a stepson, James D. Hunter of Angel Fire, NM, daughter-in-law Carolyn Kennedy Reinhart, grandchildren James A. Hunter of Kilgore, Julie and Tom Wightman of Rockwall,Cara & James Bell of Kilgore, Great Grandchildren Leanne Marie Hunter of Longview, Ja and Carrie Bell of Kilgore. Nieces and nephews Elmore Cammack of Brownsville, Anna Turlington Cammack of San Antonio, Ben and Louise Cammack of Kilgore, Bettye Grace and Joe Parks of Austin, Richard and Sue Parrish of Gladewater, and Gordon and Mary Lou Carlton of San Augustine, and a cousin, Kenneth Dillivan of Michigan. He leaves a legacy of love to his family, friends and special companion in his last years Alice Haynes and her family.
Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Bruce Wells 2:00pm at the Kilgore City Cemetery on Wednesday. Donations can be made to the Liberty City Baptist Church Building fund.

Williams, Danny Lynn
Services for Danny Lynn Williams, 57, of Boynton Beach, Florida, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Mr. Ron Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mr. Williams passed away Thursday, May 27,2004, in Boynton Beach, Florida.
He was born November 25, 1946, in Kilgore, Texas, to the late Roe and Etta Williams. He graduated from Kilgore High School in 1965. Mr. Williams served in Vietnam with the United States Navy from 1965 - 1969. He also was an F4 Phantom Fighter Pilot from 1972 - 1980 with the United States Marine Corps achieving the rank of Captain.
Upon leaving the Marines, he flew for various companies as a corporate pilot. During the last ten years, he was employed as Captain for a private company based in Boca Raton, Florida.
Mr. Williams is survived by his beloved wife Lisa Clandfield Williams of Boynton Beach, Florida; children: Christi Whitten and husband Marc of Seattle, Washington; Kirk Williams and wife Angie of Trophy Club, Texas; Jason Williams and wife Alison of Austin, Texas; Jaimee Williams of Kilgore, Texas; Morgan Clandfield of Boynton Beach, Florida; grandchildren: Jack Whitten of Seattle, Washington; Kailyn Williams of Austin, Texas; brothers: Udolph (Doc) Williams of Houston; Jack Williams of Longview; Doug Williams of Kilgore, Texas; Don Williams of Fountain Valley, California; Doyle Williams of Odessa, Texas; Ronald Williams of Kilgore, Texas; Fred Williams of Kilgore, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Monday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
Association.

Pool, Jewell
Funeral service for Miss. Jewell Pool, 98, of Kilgore will be held at Two O’clock in the afternoon, Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with the Reverend David Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in the Crims Chapel Cemetery in Rusk County. Miss. Pool passed away Sunday in a Longview nursing center.
She was born May 17, 1906 in Rusk County daughter of Milton and Ida Pool. Miss. Pool was a member of First Baptist Church of Kilgore. She retired from Petro-lite Inc. in Kilgore were she worked for many years.
Miss. Pool is survived by her nieces, Wanda Young and her husband Bill of Longview; two nephews, Milford Tate and his wife Jean of Henderson and P.C. Tate and his wife Teenie of Henderson; numerous great and great- great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Gladys Tate and nephew, Rex Tate and his wife Judy.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore Monday from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Morris, Freda
Graveside service for Freda Morris, 90, of Athens, Texas formerly of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2004 at the Danville Cemetery with the Reverend David Hampton officiating. Mrs. Morris died Wednesday, June 2, 2004 in Athens, Texas.
She was born April 25, 1914 in Yeager, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Morris is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Richard Ladd of Richardson, Texas; two grandsons, Zachary Ladd of Plano, Texas and Matthew Ladd of Richardson, Texas; sister-in-law, Stella Mae Morris of Kilgore, Texas; sister Jewell Burris and brother, Jack Davis of Wewoka, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews.

LaBarge, Bobby
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby LaBarge, 57, of Kilgore will be held Two O’clock in the afternoon, Monday, June 7, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Burial will follow at Glover Cemetery. Bobby passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004 at East Texas Hospice Homeplace.
He was born January 6, 1947 in Carrollton MO, son of the late Russell and Mary LaBarge. Bobby had been a resident of the Kilgore area for the past 30 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Camie Shelburne of Kilgore; son, John LaBarge of Kilgore; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Pat LaBarge of Gilmer; three sisters, Mary Ann Johnston of Quitman, Linda Maxfield of Overland Park, Kansas and Brenda Cope of Gardner, Kansas; one grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004.
