Ramirez, Jose Prado
Services for Jose Prado Ramirez, 20, of Kilgore will be held at a later date in Nuevo Copaltepec, Mexico. He was born March 23, 1984 in Nuevo Copaltepec, Mexico and died June 6, 2004 in Gregg County as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was employed by Green’s Pipe Yard.
A sister Cirila Ramirez preceded him in death.
Survivors include his parents Ricardo and Rosa Ramirez of Nuevo Copaltepec; three brothers, Tomas Ramirez of Nuevo Copaltepec, Teodulo Ramirez and Vicente Ramirez both of Kilgore; sisters Maria Ramirez of Nuevo Copaltepec, Victorina Ramirez of Kilgore, Viviana Garcia of Houston, Carolina Ramirez of Tijuana and Marbella Ramirez of Nuevo Copaltepec; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family.
Phillips, William A. "Bill"
Services for William A. “Bill” Phillips, 90, of Kilgore will be held at two o’clock p.m., Friday, June 11, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Reverend Jonathan Latham officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradford Cemetery in Troup. Mr. Phillips passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2004 in Kilgore.
Mr. Phillips was born in Madisonville, Texas on August 16, 1913 to the late James Edgar and Bertha Lee Phillips. He was a longtime resident of the Kilgore and East Texas area. Mr. Phillips was a retired field foreman from East Texas Salt Water Disposal, Co. after many years of service.
Mr. Phillips is preceded in death by his wife Annie Lois Walker Phillips who passed away in 1989, two sons William Burton Phillips and Milton Ray Phillips and two grandchildsons Mark Travis Phillips and Richard Alan Potoczek.
He is survived by a daughter Carolyn Sue Phillips Potoczek of Spring Grove, Ill.; son and daughter-in-law Travis Wayne and Dianne Phillips of Houston; two sisters Emma Garrett of Athens and Elva Livingston of Houston; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; as well as many other loving family and friends.

Townson, Amber
Services for Amber Kay Townson, 13, of Longview will be held at two o’clock p.m., Saturday, June 12, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Reverend Eddie Scott officiating. Amber passed away Thursday, June 10, 2004 in Longview.
Amber was born in Kilgore on July 22, 1990 daughter of Dennis and Teresa Annette Townson. She was a student at the Pine Tree Junior High School. Amber will be missed by all who knew her.
Amber leaves behind to cherish her precious memory her mother Teresa Annette Townson, father Dennis Ray Townson, sister Brandi Lesha Townson and brother Cody Ray Townson all of Longview; grandparents Ola Ray Townson of Mt. Enterprise, Tina and Milton Cambell of Lumberton as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends from school.

Weller, Norma Nell
Services for Norma Nell Weller, 88, of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Weller died Saturday, June 12, 2004 in Kilgore.
Mrs. Weller was born November 11, 1915 in Webber Falls, Oklahoma. She married Jack Weller June 17, 1930. They owned and operated Jack Weller Pump and Supply.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Weller of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jack Weller, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister, Nita Jean Nemmer of Tampa, Florida; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Weller was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, a brother and a grandson.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore Monday evening between six and eight p.m.
Griffin, Nichole Patton
Services for Nichole Patton Griffin, 19, of Kilgore will be held at two o’clock p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Reverend Mike Maxwell officiating. Nichole passed away Sunday, June 13, 2004 in Kilgore.
Nichole was born in Longview on October 26, 1984 daughter of Billy and Julie Patton. She attended Kilgore schools and Kilgore College. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter and sister. Nichole enjoyed life to the fullest and especially spending all the time she could with her husband and daughter. She will always be remembered as a Daddy’s girl.
Nichole is preceded in death by her father Billy Patton, two grandfather’s James Donald Patton and John Russ and great grandfather Winston Fleming.
Nichole is survived by her husband Jameson Griffin of Kilgore; daughter Jadyn Daelynn Griffin of Kilgore; mother Julie Patton of Kilgore; two brothers Donald and Matthew Patton both of Kilgore; mother-in-law Melba and husband Mike Miles of Kilgore; father-in-law J.D. and wife Lynda Griffin of Hooks grandparents Nadine Russ of Kilgore and Jane and Gene Powell of Longview; great grandmother Mattie Fleming of Tyler as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorial contributions can be made to the fund for the benefit of Jadyn Griffin that has been established at Texas Bank and Trust Co. in Longview or to the charity of choice.

Brooks, Earl Wayne
Services for Earl Wayne Brooks, 45, of Kilgore will be two p.m., Saturday, June 19, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Reverend Curtis Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Rusk County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Brooks died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 in Kilgore.
Mr. Brooks was born April 29, 1959 in Opelika, Alabama to L. J. and Mae Louise Brooks. He worked as a Project Manager for HydroChem Industrial Services.
He is survived by his wife Jeanene Brooks of Kilgore; four children Melissa Brooks of Longview, Jennifer Brooks of Liberty City, Patience Jeanene Brooks of Kilgore and Ray Dale Rhodes of Gilmer; mother Mae Louise Brooks of Overton; sister Shirley Robinson of Overton; three grandchildren Daniel Rhodes, Joshua Dale Rhodes and Jasmine Alexis Wheat as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
His father L.J. Brooks, two brothers Johnny and Albert Brooks and sister Jeanette Robinson preceded him in death.

Smith, Belinda
BELINDA DIANE BERRYMAN SMITH, 44, joined our Lord in heaven on Saturday, July 17, 2004. Daughter of Wayne and Bitsy Berryman of Tyler, Texas, Belinda was born October 6, 1959, in Abilene, Texas. She grew up in Clyde, Denton, Tyler, and Kilgore, Texas, meeting her future husband, Trey Smith, in Mrs. Kennedy’s 5th grade homeroom in Kilgore, Texas, in 1971. After graduating from Abilene Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in business (honors in accounting), she married the “love of her life since 5th grade”, Joseph Lorn Smith III, (Trey), August 21, 1982. Following a honeymoon to Williamsburg, VA, the newlyweds moved to Houston, Texas, where Belinda worked as an accountant for Pennzoil Corporation and Cox & Perkins Exploration as well as a substitute teacher before becoming Mom to Joseph Lorn Smith, IV, on August 29, 1988, and Baine Paul Smith on January 19, 1991. An unlimited devotion to God and her family was the centerpiece of Belinda’s life. Belinda served for six consecutive years as an officer of the Lowery Elementary PTO as well as an officer in the Langham Creek High School Athletic Booster Club. A longtime member of West Houston Church of Christ in Copperfield, Belinda served as Kindergarten Coordinator where she authored a preschool curriculum that has been used for over 12 years. Every child at West Houston knew and loved Miss Belinda. She will be remembered for her limitless generosity and the many gifts of her heart that she gave to her children and all others that touched her life; her terrific sense of humor and spontaneous sense of adventure; her tremendous energy and endless hours of volunteer work for her church, community and children’s schools; her strength and tenacity in her four year battle with breast cancer; and for her willingness to be of help and service at a moment’s notice. Belinda is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Karen Berryman, and nephews Ben and Matt of Richardson, Texas; mother-in-law, Othella Smith of Kilgore, Texas; brother-in-law, Scott Smith, and nephew, Zach of Kilgore, Texas; sister-in-law and husband, Pam and Randy Early, and nephew, Cameron of Kilgore, Texas. The family will receive friends at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, on Tuesday, July 20; from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral services for Belinda will be held at West Houston Church of Christ at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21. Gossett Jr., David
Graveside services for David Gossett Jr., 42, of Kilgore will be held two o’clock p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at the Danville Cemetery with the Reverend Jim Kennedy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from six until eight o’clock at the funeral home.
He was born August 12, 1961 in Henderson, Texas the son of David Lee Earl Gossett Sr. and the late Johnnie Ryan. He died Sunday, July 18, 2004 in a Longview hospital. He had worked for Ace Transportation and Mansfield Plumbing.
His brother Jim Ryan Jr. also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Diane Gossett of Kilgore; his children, Ashlea Renee Gossett of Georgia, James Earl Gossett and Samantha Jo Gossett both of Kilgore; a brother Mark Gossett of Kilgore; a sister Christina Gossett of Henderson; his father and step-mother David Lee Earl and Margaret Gossett Sr. of Henderson; nephews Justin Ryan, Jonathon Ryan and Jonathon Schaefer and a niece Rachael McCoy all of Kilgore as well as other loving family and friends.
Crain, Marvin
Graveside Services for Marvin Crain, 79 of Gilmer formerly of Kilgore will be held Two O’clock in the afternoon Monday, July 26, 2004 at the Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Mr. Crain passed away Friday in a Tyler hospital.
He was born November 30, 1925 in Pasadena, California son of James and Iva Mae Crain. Mr. Crain was a longtime resident of Kilgore and work as a Carpenter.
Marvin Crain is survived by his, brother Clarence Spring of Kilgore; sister Opal Reed of Pasadena, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
His wife Vera Lee Crain preceded him in death in 1988.
Roger, Charles "Chuck"
Services for Charles “Chuck” Rogers, 47, of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Monday, July 26, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Buddy Duggins officiating. Mr. Rogers died Friday, July 23, 2004 in a Tyler hospital.
He was born January 2, 1957 in Laurel, Mississippi. Chuck attended public schools in Odessa, Texas and graduated from Mesquite High School. He moved to Kilgore in the early 1980’s. Mr. Rogers worked in the oil field.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Vernice and Jim Wilson of Kilgore; step-mother, June Rogers of Humble, Texas; four sons, Brandon Carter of Kilgore, Mitchell Rogers of Kilgore, Adam Rogers of Kilgore, Chad Rogers of Kilgore; two sisters, Jo Beth Rogers of Baytown, Texas, Susie Whittington of New Diana, Texas; two brothers, Dean Rogers of Houston, Texas, Cody Wilson of Kilgore; grandmother, Jo Anna Rogers of Laurel Mississippi; two grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Rogers, Sr.

Foster, Lahna Kathleen "Na"
Memorial Services for Mrs. Lahna Kathleen “Na” Foster, 41, of Kilgore will be held Two O’clock in the afternoon Wednesday, July 28, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with the Reverend Kirby Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Tuesday evening from Six until Eight P.M.
Mrs. Foster passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Good Shepherd Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Lahna was born May 29, 1963 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Mrs. Foster lived in Olney, Texas before moving to Longview. She was an Artist and worded as a Respiratory Therapist at Olney Hamilton Hospital in Olney.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Foster of Overton; two sons, Micah Foster of Overton and Chris Foster of North Carolina; mother; Joan DiShion of Kilgore; three sisters, Tiffany Dame of Olney, Tobey Bright of Kilgore and Dana Crossfield and husband David of Nicholasville, Kentucky; brother, Todd Phillips and wife Ashley of Olney; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Smith of Kilgore; nieces, Brinkley Bright, Karah and Kalie Dame; nephews, Jacob Bright, Aiden Phillips and Tate Twilligear; aunts, Suzanne Schlabs and husband David, Gena Phillips and husband Garland; along with several cousins and a host of other family and friends.
Lahna was preceded in death by her daughter Tiffany Dawn Ellen Smith in March of 2002.
Engledow, Bea
Graveside services for Bea Engledow, 93 of Kingwood, Texas formerly of Kilgore will be held at Two O’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Engledow passed away Sunday evening in Kingwood.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Saturday afternoon between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. preceding the services.
She was born May 22, 1911 in Bivins, Texas daughter of John and Ellie May Dodson. Mrs. Engledow moved to Kilgore from Oil City, Louisiana in 1944 with her husband and two children. Following her husband’s death in 1980, she moved to Bedford, Texas to be with her daughter and her family. Mrs. Engledow was a member of the Bedford-Hurst Senior Citizens Center in Bedford, Texas, where she was an avid quilter and volunteer in the Bedford community. Mrs. Engledow was a loving and devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Engledow was preceded in death by her husband Horace E. Engledow, whom she married on July 31, 1926 in Bossier City, Louisiana; and three children Avalee Engledow, Bruce Engledow and Jerry Engledow.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Perlie and Homayoun Hadi of Humble, Texas; three grandchildren Mekecia A. Larson and her husband, Dwight S. Larson of Allen, Texas, Michael B. Hadi and his wife, Gena Stanford Hadi of Coppell, Texas and Laura L. Hadi of St. Augustine, Florida and one great grandson, Grant N. Larson of Allen, Texas.
