Procopio C. Aragon
HALE CENTER - Funeral Mass for Procopio C. Aragon, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Theresa´s Catholic Church with the Rev. David Cruz, pastor at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lubbock, officiating.
Burial will be in Hale Center cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the same church.
Mr. Aragon died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, in Amarillo.
He was born on Jan. 10, 1917, in Las Vegas, N.M. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945.
He worked for Friona ISD and the City of Friona, retiring in 1983. He moved to Hale Center after retirement and was a member of St. Theresa´s Catholic Church.
On July 18, 1953, he married
Margaret Gonzales in Bovina.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Leo Aragon and Jesse Aragon, both of Friona, Phillip Aragon of Duncan, Okla., and Barnabe Aragon of Amarillo; three daughters, Rosemary Madrid of Amarillo, Agnes Saiz of Kingsland and Angela Aragon of Hale Center; two brothers, Rosendo Aragon of Canyon and Pete Aragon of Canyon; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Dionicio Montez
IDALOU - Funeral Mass for Dionicio “Dee”/“Dennis” Montez, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church with Monsignor Roland Buxkemper officiating.
Burial will be in Idalou cemetery by White Funeral Home.

Mr. Montez died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002.
He was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Marlin Falls. He moved to Idalou from Lubbock in 1973 and had worked for 20 years for United Supermarkets, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church.
During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.
On Jan. 16, 1969, he married
Ascension Calderon in Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Lucio Montez of Seymour, Mike Montez of Plainview and Jessus Montez of Houston; five daughters, Isabel Rodriguez and Tomasa Diaz, both of Seymour, Beatrice and Avon Montez, both of Plainview, and Lupita Montez of Mabank; a brother, Angelo Montez of Lubbock; a sister, Ricarda Montez of Ventura, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 885, Idalou, TX 79329, or to a favorite charity.

Dorothy Setliff
AMARILLO - Funeral services for Dorothy Setliff, 75, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen´s United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Smith, pastor, and Eddie Messer, minister of Central Church of Christ, officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Plainview Memorial Park cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Setliff died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002.
She was born Dorothy Wynette True on Oct. 14, 1926, in Goree, the daughter of Snode and Nettie True. She was the sixth of eight children. As a youngster, she moved with her family to a farm near Plainview. After graduating from Plainview High School in 1944 she attended Texas Tech University.
On Aug. 21, 1948, she married
Bennie Setliff in Plainview. They moved to California where they stayed until 1969 when they moved to Borger. They later moved to Amarillo.
She was an accomplished seamstress and made baskets, pillows, skirts and other items she sold at craft fairs. She also enjoyed playing golf.
She was a member of St. Stephen´s United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sandy Setliff of Dallas and Melissa Braughton and her husband Dan of The Colony; a son, Stan Setliff of Odessa; two brothers, S.M. True Jr., and Riley True, both of Plainview; two sisters, Mary Sherman of Plainview and Ona Belle Stephens of Lampe, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
A daughter, Karol, died in 1983.
The family suggests memorials to the outreach project for senior citizens, A Time to Share, P.O. Box 50005, Amarillo, TX 79159, or to a favorite charity.
Bill Barrett
Funeral services for Bill Barrett, 75, are pending with Wood-Dunning Funeral home.
Mr. Barrett died today, March 25, 2002, at 6 a.m. in Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center in Buena Vista, Va.

Matt Kell Jr.
TULIA - Graveside services for Matt “Gid” Kell Jr., 74, of Boise City, Okla., will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Damon Akins, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Sayre, Okla., officiating.

Mr. Kell at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2002 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Amarillo.
He was born April 30, 1927, in Tulia where he grew up and attended school. He served with the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947.
He worked for Keys Helium Plant in Shiprock, N.M., from 1959-1985 when he moved to Amarillo and worked for Bushland ISD until he retired in 1993. He moved to Boise City in 1995.
On May 26, 1958, he married
Delores Clark in Tulia.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Eldon and Brenda Kell of Boise City; a sister, Virginia Looney of Amarillo; and three grandchildren, Abbigail Kell, Matthew Kell and Cjae Kell, all of Boise City.

Justo Quintana
ANTON - Funeral services for Justo Quintana, 93, of Hale Center, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Anton with the Rev. Rush Coffman officiating.
Burial will be in Hale Center cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield.
Mr. Quintana died at 2 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002, in Knight´s Nursing Home in Littlefield.
He was born Feb. 25, 1909, in Fort Sumner, N.M. He moved to Hale Center in the mid-1920s and worked as a farm laborer. On Jan. 7, 1933, he married
Stella Lucero in Lubbock and they were the first Spanish-speaking family in the area.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed working in his yard and garden.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roman and Sandy Quintana of Plainview and John and Olga Quintana of Hale Center; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Rev. Rush Coffman of Anton; five grandchildren, Tony Quintana and Sally McDonald, both of Amarillo, Tracy Rosales of Brownfield, Debbie Quintana of Hale Center and Keri Coffman of Anton; and four great-grandchildren.

Cecilia Bazaldua
FLOYDADA - Memorial services for Cecilia Bazaldua, infant daughter of Jose and Martha Bazaldua of Dougherty, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with the Rev. Phillip DeFreitas officiating.
The child was born and died Thursday, March 21, 2002, in Lubbock.
Survivors include her parents; a brother, Luis Bazaldua of Dougherty; and her grandparents, Emileo and Guadalupe Bazaldua of Weslaco and Alfonzo and Celia Hernandez of Mexico.
