Clifford Henderson
HART - Funeral services for Clifford Donald Henderson, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Reed, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Hart cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home in Dimmitt.
Mr. Henderson died at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in Lubbock.
He was born Nov. 9, 1922, Castro County. He attended schools in Olton and in 1938 he moved to Arizona and worked as a cowboy on a ranch. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and returned to the ranch in Arizona. He moved to Hart in 1948. In 1949, he returned to Arizona and back to Hart in 1951. He was a carpenter and farmer and a member of First Baptist Church in Hart.
On Jan. 15, 1949, he married
Wanda Jackson in Dimmitt.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Larry Henderson of Hart; seven sisters, Anna Lou Huff of Lubbock, Bea Cole of Hart, Glee Williams of Canyon, Jane Sheelock of Amarillo, Joy Owens of Carlsbad, N.M., Lola Stewart of Baldwin, Mo., and Nola Jobs of Granbury; two brothers, Charlie Henderson of Payson, Ariz., and R.G. Henderson of Hart; one granddaughter, Angel Carufel of Abilene; and one great-grandson, Brandon Carufel of Abilene.
A sister, Mary Bliss, is deceased.

Vanita James
Funeral services for Vanita James, 81, will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mrs. James died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000 in Prairie House Living Center.
She was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Quanah. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.
On Jan. 27, 1938, she married
Earl James in Littlefield. He died June 18, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Gayle Knoy of Amarillo; two sons, Benny Lowell James of Trenton and Don Roy James of Plainview; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Dane Earline James, and a son, Dale Gordon James, are deceased.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Gerald Edwin Ray
CLAUDE - Funeral services for Gerald Edwin “Jake” Ray, 63, will be at 2 p.m. today in Claude Church of Christ with Kent Watson, minister, and Marc McCormick of Dalhart officiating.
Burial will be in Claude cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Mr. Ray died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000.
He was born in Odessa and had lived in Amarillo before moving to Claude in 1972. He farmed at Olton and served as a trooper with the Department of Public Safety for 31 years until retiring.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served on the Claude City Council. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Claude Church of Christ.
In 1963 he married
Sharon Williams in Plainview.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Christopher Edwin Ray of Panhandle and Richard Kensy Ray of Amarillo; a brother, Kenneth Ray of Olton; and five grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Baptist/St. Anthony´s Hospice and Life Enrichment Center in Amarillo; Olivia´s Angels, c/o Baptist St. Anthony´s Hospice; or to a favorite charity.

Buford Terrell
LUBBOCK - Funeral services for Buford Elton Terrell, 81, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Resthaven Abbey Chapel with the Rev. Marisue Smith officiating.

Mr. Terrell died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Covenant Lakeside Hospital.
He was born May 3, 1918, in Post. He attended Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University. He worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers, Parkhill Smith and Cooper engineer consulting and the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1973.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the N.A.L.C., N.A.R.F.E., American Legion and Hillcrest Country Club.
On May 25, 1939, he married
Carlene Ashmore in Lubbock. She died Jan. 1, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Buford Carl Terrell of Houston; a daughter, Frances Terrell Grogan of San Angelo; a sister, Peggy Tooker of Abernathy; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or to a favorite charity.
Friends will be received by the family from 7-8 p.m. today at Resthaven.

Wayne ÔSonny´ Cookston

Mr. Cookston died at 3:55 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, in IHS Heritage Home.
He was born Nov. 19, 1930 in Erick, Okla. and served in the U.S. Army and Air Force from 1948-59. He live din Ewa Beach, Hawaii, for 36 years and owned and operated a restaurant. He moved to Plainview in 1986 and worked in a variety of jobs.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of Scottish Rite, Shrine, Elks and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He married
Mary Ann Ploch on Jan. 5, 1990, in Tulia.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Jackie Krepps of Culpepper, Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Rozlyn Cookston of Plainview; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dorotha Richardson, Gladys and Howard Shook and Lavern and Rusty Abbott, all of Plainview; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A stepson, Paul Hyslope, is deceased.
