TULIA -- Funeral services for Sarah Taylor Burgess, 89, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ernie McGaughey, retired Methodist minister, officiating, and the Rev. Rob Lindley, pastor, assisting.
Burial will be in Rest Lawn cemetery in Hereford by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia.
Mrs. Burgess died at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in Dallas.
She was born June 13, 1912, in Hereford. She graduated from Hereford High School and McMurry College in Abilene. She married
Lester Taylor June 2, 1940, in Hereford. He died in October 1962.
She moved to Tulia in 1962 and taught school. She married
F.J. Burgess July 26, 1967, in Tulia. He died Dec. 11, 1986.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Women´s Study Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Ann Webb of Chillicothe, Ohio; two sons, Larry Taylor of Garland and Lamar Taylor of California; one stepson, David Burgess of Tulia; one sister, Gladys Carter of Plainview; one brother, Noel Bryant of Dallas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

SILVERTON -- Graveside services for Andrew Brett Castillo and Anthony Lee Castillo, infant sons of Samantha Garza and Gabriel Castillo of Silverton, will be at 4 p.m. today in Silverton cemetery with the Rev. Steve Rogers, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church in Plainview, and the Rev. John Salazar-Jiminez, pastor of Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia, officiating.
Burial will be by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Silverton.
The children were born and died Aug. 4, 2001, in Lubbock.
Survivors include their parents; grandparents, Jimmy and Mary Alice Garza of Hale Center, Jane Murrell of Tulia, and Juan and Isabel Castillo of Hale Center; great-grandparents, Mary Maciel of Silverton and Janie and Armando Davila of Silverton; an uncle, Brandon Trevino of Hale Center; and three aunts, Ashley Trevino and Bethany Trevino, both of Hale Center, and Brook Murrell of Dallas.

Maria Castillo
ANTON -- Funeral Mass for Maria Trinidad S. Castillo, 79, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony´s Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Anton cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Castillo died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001.
She was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Beeville and married
Pablo T. Castillo in September 1945 in Taft. He died March 22, 2001. She moved to Cotton Center in 1953 and then to Anton in 1963. She was a homemaker and a Cursillista at St. Anthony´s Catholic Church.
Survivors include seven sons, Felipe of Lubbock, and Paul, Joe, Lupe, Juan, Gilbert and Genaro, all of Anton; two daughters, Delores McWhirter and Adela Sosa, both of Anton; two sisters, Rufina S. Hernandez of Taft and Mercedes Bernal of Alice; 34 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Larry Clark
LUBBOCK -- Funeral services for Larry Clark, 64, were at 10 a.m. today in Quaker Avenue Church of Christ with Elgin Conner and Elmore Johnson officiating.
Burial was at 3 p.m. today in Dreamland cemetery at Turkey by Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Mr. Clark died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001.
He was born May 30, 1937, in Turkey and was a resident of Lubbock since moving from Turkey in 1955. He graduated from Turkey High School and attended Texas Tech University for two years. He was owner of Flex Marketing, an insurance company, for 20 years.
He was the second president of Monterey Optimist Little Dribblers Basketball Association, was a member of Kiva Duffers for several years, Monterey Optimist Club and Quaker Avenue Church of Christ.
He married
Ruth Chadwick on Feb. 25, 1956, in Childress.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ricky Lane Clark of Odessa and Russell Lance Clark of Lubbock; a daughter, Jeanne Denise Evans of Lubbock; a brother, Birt Lane of Plainview; his stepmother, Bonnie Clark of Lubbock; and six grandchildren, Sarah, Kara, Tim, Alyson, Cody and Macy.
His father, Dr. Lawrence “Butch” Clark; his mother, Ruth Lane Clark; and his adopted parents, Leon and Lillie Lane of Turkey, are deceased.

L.G. ÔGus´ Raymond
TULIA -- Funeral services for L.G. “Gus” Raymond, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carol Smith, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home.
Mr. Raymond died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in Baptist/St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo.
He was born May 14, 1916, in Swisher County where he was raised and attended grade schools at Union Hill. He graduated from Happy High School in 1934 and attended Draughn´s Business School in Lubbock, then worked at various jobs until he was drafted. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from May 1942 until April 1945 during World War II. He married
Ruth Doan on June 1, 1947, in Tulia.
He farmed in Swisher County until 1951, then ran the Tulia Recreation Club for several years. He worked for Swisher County Electric Co-op from 1977 until his retirement in 1993.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Martha Raymond of Houston; two sons, Mike and Gary of Dallas; one brother, A.B. of Tulia; three sisters, Dorris Hisel of Plainview, Juanita Witt of Amarillo and Lucille Cobb of Claude; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

CHILLICOTHE -- Funeral services for Corina G. Rodriguez, 64, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Hartwig, officiating.

Mrs. Rodriguez died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
She was born Aug. 31, 1937, in Yeso, N.M., to Albert and Florencia Trujillo Gerhardt. She married
David E. Rodriguez on Oct. 24, 1953, in Plainview. She was a resident of Vernon until moving to Farmer´s Valley in 1990. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chillicothe and a retired Spec. #2 at Vernon State Hospital.
Survivors include her husband of Farmer´s Valley; four daughters, Christina Madrin of Atlanta, Ga., Esther Mujica of Austin, Lydia Thiele of Lake Kemp and Linda Rainwater of Wichita Falls; four sons, David Jr. of Big Spring, Ruben and Michael, both of Chillicothe, and Alex of Vernon; her mother, Florencia Gerhardt of Hale Center; two sisters, Tina Gerhardt of Hale Center and Rosa Rivera of Amarillo; seven brothers, Ray and Louis Gerhardt, both of Hale Center; Dennis Gerhardt of Fort Worth, Nune Gerhardt of Fort Collins, Colo., George and Nestro Gerhardt of Boise, Idaho, and Artie Gerhardt of Lamesa; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Three brothers are deceased.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Manard Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
