Chloe Garrett
Graveside services for Chloe Garrett, 62, will be at 10:30 a.m. in Portales cemetery with Jake Taylor officiating.
Burial arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary in Portales.
Mrs. Garrett died Saturday morning, April 5, 1997, in Methodist Hospital Lubbock.
She was born on Aug. 20, 1934, in Whiteflat and grew up in Lakeview in the Panhandle. She married
Pat Garrett on Jan. 17, 1952, in Spur. They lived in several areas of northwest Texas and eastern New Mexico following his road construction jobs. They moved to Dora, N.M., in 1977 and owned and operated Dora Cafe. They moved to Plainview in 1983. She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband; four sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Vicki Garrett of Amarillo, Barry and Pam Garrett of Las Cruces, N.M., Ronny Dean and Carol Garrett of Nashville, Tenn., and Quince and Jill Garrett of Plainview; a daughter and son-in-law, Alisa and Kenneth Hale of Albuquerque, N.M.; three brothers, Stanley Whitefield of Idalou, Jim Whitefield of Spur and Alden Whitefield of Matador; a sister, Johnnie Ellis of Amarillo; and six grandchildren.
Ronald Gough
SEYMOUR - Funeral services for Ronald Lee Gough, 57, twin brother of Robert Gough of Abernathy, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church with Jiggs Stowe, minister of Olney-Newcastle Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will be in Westover cemetery by Archer Funeral Home of Seymour.
Mr. Gough died Sunday, Apri 6, 1997, in Lubbock.
He was born on Dec. 6, 1939, in Seymour. He was an oil field worker employed by K-Span in Midland.
He served with the U.S. Army in overseas duty in Iran, Algiers, Equator, Brazil and on the north slope of Alaska. He was a Methodist.
Other survivors include two stepdaughters, Kathy Ferranani of Kemmerer, Wyo., and Dana Hall of Cross Plains; two other brothers, Wayne Gough of Olney and Bill Gough of Olney.
Rosario Hernandez
ABERNATHY - Funeral services for Rosario Mendoza Hernandez, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe. Perez officiating.
Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens cemetery in Woodrow by Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
Mr. Hernandez died Sunday, April 6, 1997, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1910, in Donna. He moved to Abernathy in 1977 from Friona.
He was a member of New Creation Baptist Church.
He married
Anita Renteria in 1931 in Edinburg. She died on April 17, 1967.
Survivors include six sons, Juan Hernandez of Elsa, Rosario Jr. and Reynaldo Hernandez, both of Hale Center, Rodolfo Hernandez of Clovis, N.M., Rene Hernandez of Portales, N.M., and Oscar Hernandez of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight daughters, Carmen Cerda and Martina Montelongo, both of Elsa, Santos Salinas of Abernathy, Josie DeLaCruz of Clovis, Juanita Hernandez of Hale Center, Hermelinda Hernandez of Farwell, Sandy Terry of Portales and Estella Tamez of Bovina; 62 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Aubrey Long
NICOMA PARK, Okla. - Funeral services for Aubrey F. Long, 64, father of Steve Long of Plainview, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Arlington Memory Gardens by Eisenhour Funeral Home in Oklahoma City.
Mr. Long died Friday, April 4, 1997.
He was born on May 13, 1932, in Stroud, Okla. He moved to Nicoma Park in 1976 from Oklahoma City and was employed with Airport Express the past seven years. He was a deacon at Nicoma Park First Baptist Church where he sang in the church choir.
Other survivors include his wife, Jeannie; two other sons, Mark Long of Oklahoma City and David Long of Nicoma Park; one daughter, April Long-Fillippini of Nicoma Park; and four grandchildren.
Leslie McNeil
Funeral services for Leslie McNeil, 60, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with T.A. Williams, minister of Ash and Carver Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. McNeil died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 1997, in Southern Manor Nursing Home in Lubbock.
He was born on Nov. 12, 1936, in McAlester, Okla. He moved from Tulia to Plainview and was a welder and operated heavy equipment for High Plains Pavers.
He married
Lou Willie Lawrence in November of 1975.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carolyn Wafer of Tulia; two stepdaughters, Betty Acy of Plainview and Jo Ann Glenn of Kingsland, Ark.; two stepsons, Ronnie and Donnie White, both of Abilene; a brother, Herman McNeil of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Cleta McNeil of McAlester, and Ezada Jones of Dallas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Roy L. Sawyer
Funeral services for Roy L. Sawyer, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Sawyer died at noon Sunday, April 6, 1997, in Methodist Hospital.
He was born on April 18, 1912, in Little, Okla., where he grew up and attended schools. He lived in Apache, Okla,. and farmed and operated a grocery store. He moved to the Edmonson community in 1945 and farmed until 1956 when he retired from farming and moved to Plainview. He operated a rural mail route from 1957 to 1967 and then worked for the City of Plainview in the Parks and Recreation Department until he retired in 1977.
He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and Farm Bureau. He had served as president of the Edmonson Co-op Gin and was superintendent of the Edmonson First Baptist Church Sunday School department.
He married
Florence Carrell on June 2, 1941, in Norman, Okla.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sandy Sawyer of Plano, Carrell Ann Simmons of Denton and Judy Weatherford of Plainview; a son, Tom Sawyer of Austin; a brother, Ira Sawyer of Apache, Okla.; a sister, Edna Mae Noe of Anadarko, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Charley Grant
Graveside services for Charley Wayne Grant, 65, were at 11 a.m. today in Plainview Memorial Park with Ron Huckeby officiating.
Burial arrangements were by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.
Mr. Grant died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Covenant Hospital Plainview.
He was born Jan. 17, 1938, in Plainview where he grew up and attended schools. He worked in construction as a cement contractor for many years and also was in the lawn mower repair business. He also did various types of carpentry work and crafts.
He lived in Oklahoma for 30 years before returning to Plainview in 1992.
Survivors include two sisters, Juanita Ortegon of Plainview and Isleta Downing of Oregon; a brother, Virgil Leroy Grant of Oklahoma; three nieces, Kaylene Wheeler of Plainview, Lorrene Mata of Amarillo and Sarah Griffin of Washington; and two nephews, Raul Ortegon Jr., and Randy Ortegon, both of Plainview, and Ronnie Ortegon of Dallas.

J.D. Hahn
Funeral services for J.D. Hahn, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Kevin Naillieux, Fred Fite Jr., and Eric Hahn, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons funeral Home.
Mr. Hahn died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Amarillo.
He was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Donley County. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 25 years. He also farmed in the area.
On Sept. 2, 1946, he married
Mildred Presley in New Boston, Texas.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Clara Pfingsten of Plainview; a son, Charles Edwin Hahn of Texarkana; two brothers, Lloyd Hahn of Hope, Ark., and Leon Hahn of Pearl; a sister, Clora Haier of Houston; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
