Jose Querovin Garcia
MISSION - Funeral Mass for Jose Querovin Garcia, 56, former Silverton area resident, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in St. John of the Fields Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Garden of Angels cemetery in Abram by Flores Funeral Home of Mission.
Rosary will be recited at 7 tonight at Flores Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Garcia died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, in La Joya.
He is survived by his wife; eight children; three brothers and seven sisters, including Mrs. Gonzalo (Julia) Gonzalez of Floydada; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mattie Hackworth
AMHERST - Funeral services for Mattie Hackworth, 73, were at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawrence White officiating.
Burial was in Fairlawn cemetery by McCarty Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hackworth died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Covenant Hospital Lakeside in Lubbock.
She was born Aug. 22, 1929, in Hearne. She had lived in Amherst for several years. She was a homemaker and worked as a cook.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Earl Hackworth; three daughters, Marie White of Olton, Patricia Pat Neal and Patricia Lynn Fluellen, both of Amherst; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, four brothers, J.B. Fluellen Jr., Henry Fluellen, Willie Fluellen and Red Fluellen, and two sisters, Rosie Mae Salad and Mary Sayles, are deceased.

Wiley Bass
FRITCH - Funeral services for Wiley Franklin Bass, 87, were at 11 a.m. Thursday in Central Baptist Church in Borger with the Rev. John Denton and the Rev. Chris Riley, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Buffalo cemetery in Sweetwater, Okla., by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Bass died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003.
He was born April 1, 1916, in Beckham County, Okla. He worked for United Carbon Co., Natural Gas Pipeline and the City of Borger.
Survivors include five brothers, Durwood Bass of Olton, Harold Bass of Erick, Okla., Wayne Bass of Shamrock, Bert Bass of Borger and Dean Bass of Fritch; and a sister, Viola Potts of Lubbock.
The family suggests memorials to Helping Hands.

Marguerite Pinkard
Graveside services for Marguerite Grace Waller Summers Pinkard, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Plainview cemetery with Lanny Voss officiating.

Mrs. Pinkard died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Hale County Nursing Center in Hale Center.
She was born July 15, 1911, in Plainview to J.M. and Lula Mae Braselton Waller. She married
Henry G. Summers on Feb. 1, 1926, in Plainview. He died Feb. 29, 1956. She married
Walt Pinkard on Aug. 2, 1958. They lived in Albuquerque, N.M. He died June 5, 1991. Mrs. Pinkard moved back to the Plainview area in 1994.
She was a seamstress, business owner and homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Henry Waller “Buster” Summers of Plainview and Don Carl Summers of Lubbock; a stepdaughter, Ann Perry of Lubbock; one stepson, Butch Pinkard of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Richard Herald “Dick” Waller of Palm Desert, Calif.; two sisters, May Jo Holloway and Carolyn Dixon, both of Midland.; four grandchildren, Shelly Z. Molik of Ennis, Pepper Summers of Louisville, Ky., Steve Summers of Aurora, Calif., and Sharon Summers of Burbank, Calif.; and five step-grandchildren, Isabella Lynn of Shreveport, La., Amy Valdez, Corina Valdez and Michael Menth of Torrance, Calif., and Mark Menth of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Victoria P. Ponce
ABERNATHY - Rosary for Victoria P. Ponce, 73, of Arden, N. C., will be recited at 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy with the Rev. Arnold Bravo officiating.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in the same church with the same officiant.
Burial will follow services in the Abernathy cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ponce died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, in Arden, N.C.
She was born Feb. 23, 1930, to Leopaldo and Irene Morales Partida. She married
Juan Ponce on April 28, 1946, in Edinburg.
She had been a longtime resident of Abernathy before moving to North Carolina several years ago.
Survivors include her husband, Juan Ponce of Arden, N.C.; two sons, Johnny Ponce and Ruben Ponce, both of Abernathy, one daughter, Sylvia Trapp of Arden, N.C.; two brothers, Fidel Partida of Sunnyside, Wash., and Santos Partida of Edinburg; three sisters, Dolores Vecchio of Abernathy and Josefa Pardo and Silva Rosales, both of Edinburg; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A son, Roy Ponce Sr., and a daughter, Estela Ponce, are deceased.
The family suggests memorials to St. Isidore Catholic Church.

Anne Thompson

Mrs. Thompson died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born Sept. 11, 1938, in Malta. She grew up in the Pinchurst community in Swindon, England, and graduated from Swindon College.
She married
Clarence “Tex” Gravelle July 5, 1958, in England. He died July 6, 1976. After their marriage, they moved to El Paso and then to Plainview in 1963.
She was active in the American Kennel Club and American Rabbit Association.
She married
Issac “Ike” Thompson Feb. 14, 1996, in Plainview. He died June 25, 2003. They were members in the Flatlanders Flying Club.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debbie Jefferies, Christine and Brack LaDuke and Beverley and Jimmy Haney, all of Plainview; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Shay Gravelle and Sean Gravelle, all of Plainview; two brothers, Jack Davison and Royston Davison, both of Swindon, England; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Leslie LaDuke, Miles Haney, Cory Rogers, Andy Rogers, Blake Haney and John Carr Gravelle.
The family suggests memorials to Tommy Lewis Industries or the American Cancer Society.
