Jerrell T. Cate
Funeral services for Jerrell T. Cate, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Cate died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at his residence.
He was born March 8, 1922, in Grapevine. He grew up in Bangs and graduated from Texas A&M; in 1942.
He moved to Plainview in 1946 to start a dairy business. He built Cate´s Dairy Farms in Plainview and Denver City.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Pastor´s Class. He was instrumental in helping several students with their college education and contributed to organizations he believed benefited others.
On June 6, 1942, he married
Iris Stacy. She died March 15, 1993. He married
Wilmoth Bellamy on May 17, 1996.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jerrella Cate-Keim of Tulia and Marian Cate Ashwill of Dallas; a sister, Joy Early of Bangs; and three grandchildren, Christi Ashwill Daughenbaugh, Catherine Ashwill Couch and Michael Ashwell of Dallas.
A brother and a granddaughter, Wendi Ashwell, are deceased.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church or to the Hale County Senior Citizens Center.

Norman Goen
Funeral services for Norman Goen, 58, were at 2 p.m. today in Trinity Fellowship Church with the Rev. Steve Rogers, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Parklawn Me-morial Gardens by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.
Mr. Goen died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, in Covenant Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born Dec. 31, 1944, in Lubbock. He grew up in Floydada and graduated from Floydada High School. He was a 1967 graduate of Oklahoma State University School of Technology and had developed the curriculum and course for service station management programs and taught that program as an associate professor.
He moved to Plainview from Floydada in 1974 and became the auto tech teacher at Plainview High School.
He was a deacon and active member of Trinity Fellowship Church, contributing to efforts with the 180 Youth Group ministry. He was founder of Hale County Meals on Wheels Annual Car Show, taught the Voyager Class at the Wheeler prison unit, and had taught automotive technology in Zuni, N.M., from 1969-72. He was a member of the Road Runners Car Club.
On Dec. 30, 1980, he married
Tennie Woods in Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Goen of Lubbock; three daughters, Cheryl Lyon of Tulsa, Okla., Denise Manis of Rockwall and Traci Graham of Horseshoe Bay; a brother, Donnie Brantley of Corsicana; two sisters, Cynthia Tapp of Waco and Donna Lowe of Temple; and nine grandchildren, Eric, Zachary and Jessica Lyon of Tulsa, Tyler and Abbie Goen of Lubbock, Trey, Sydnie and Katy Grace Mantis of Rockwall and Jorden Vick of Horseshoe Bay.
His father, Stanford Norman Goen Sr., and mother, Margaret Hale Morris, are deceased.

Eleanora `Ann´ Stogsdill
No funeral services were held for Eleanora Annis “Ann” Stogsdill, 63, of Camden, Ala.
Her cremains were scattered over Lake Tawakanee in Quinlan.
Ms. Stogsdill died July 21, 2003, in Camden.
She was born Jan. 30, 1940, in Dallas.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cecilia Ann and Greg Carter of Palestine; a son, Fred James Stogsdill of Palestine; a sister, Patty Ratliff of Plainview; a brother, Eddie Goebel of Navasota; and her companion, Rick, of Camden.

Sandra Turley
LOCKNEY - Funeral services for Sandra Turley, 68, were at 3 p.m. today in Main Street Church of Christ with Glen Walton officiating.

Mrs. Turley died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born April 21, 1935, in Memphis, Texas, the daughter of Irvan Morris and Lola Imogene Caldwell. She moved to Lockney from Amarillo in 1968 and worked as secretary at Lockney Junior High School, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Roy; a son, Troy Turley of Plainview; a daughter, Kelly Pachiano of Lockney; a brother, Jerry Caldwell of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Retha Mae Chapman
LUBBOCK - Funeral services for Retha Mae Chapman, 66, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Roosevelt Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Thompson officiating.

Mrs. Chapman died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, in Lubbock.
She was born Feb. 16, 1937, the daughter of the late Henry and Floe Presley Hunycutt. She was a homemaker and had lived in Lakeview before moving to Lubbock in 1975.
On Sept. 11, 1952, she married
Teddy Chapman Jr., in Gainesville.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Teddy B. Chapman and Bobby D. Chapman, both of Lubbock, Scotty Chapman of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Aubrey Chapman of Artesia, N.M.; a brother, Howard Hunycutt of Gainesville; two sisters, Ruby McElroy of Tulia and Rachel Summers of Marion, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Idalou.

He was a member of First Baptist Church.
