Neva Lee Calvert
ABERNATHY - Funeral services for Neva Lee Calvert, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Don Cheshire, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Abernathy cemetery by Abell Funeral Home.
Ms. Calvert died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, in Lubbock.
She was born Aug. 12, 1911, in Carter County, Okla., the daughter of Frank M. and Genie Jackson Staples. She moved to Abernathy in 1936 and was a member of First Baptist Church.
A daughter, Bobbie Wayne Calvert, died at age 3 on May 20, 1932.
Memorials are suggested to a favorite charity.

Ruth Hair
OLTON - Funeral services for Ruth Dennis Hair, 89, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sharon O´Quinn Wiese, pastor, and Gary B. Smith of Addison, officiating.
Burial will be in Olton cemetery by Foskey-Lilly-McGill Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hair died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, in Runningwater Draw Care Center.
She was born July 26, 1914, in Sayre, Okla., the daughter of J.W. and Sally Dennis. She moved with her family to Olton in 1926 and graduated from Olton High School.
She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church since 1926.
On Jan. 14, 1938, she married
Lauis Hair in Matador.
Survivors include her husband; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sydney and Gary Smith of Addison, Lana and Ken Prestridge of Monroeville, Ala., Phyllis and Ronald Fancher of Plano and Pamela Kendall of Plainview; seven grandchildren and spouses, Stephanie and Don Kerns of Booker, Jeff Smith of Hurst, Ransom Prestridge of Baltimore, Md., Dan and Andi Fancher of Austin, Catherine Fancher of Dallas, Mandy and Shane Steen of Plainview and Elizabeth and Jared Macumber of Dumas; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday in the Juniper Room of Runningwater Draw Care Center in Olton and suggests memorials to the Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association, Runningwater Draw Care Center or to a favorite charity.

Huey `Pete´ Lowrie
Funeral services for Huey “Pete” Lowrie, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Garland Street Church of Christ with Russell Harris, minister, and Johnny Peck, an elder, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
Mr. Lowrie died at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, in Plainview.
He was born Jan. 14, 1935, in Wheeler. He moved to Bovina with his parents where he grew up and graduated from Bovina High School. He attended Eastern New Mexico University for two years before spending two years in the U.S. Army.
He moved to Hereford in 1960 and Plainview in 1982. He was with Energas for 34 years and was district superintendent of construction and maintenance when he retired in 1994.
On Oct. 10, 1959, he married
Janet Sells in Stockdale.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Russell Harkins of Easter Community and Sharon and Brent Self of Dimmitt; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Paula Lowrie of Clarendon; and six grandchildren, Ryan Harkins, Derik and Wesley Harkins, Tanner, Shantell and Tucker Self.
The family suggests memorials to VistaCare Hospice of Plainview or the American Cancer Society.

Maria Luna
TULIA - Funeral Mass for Maria Luna, 95, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Church of the Holy Spirit with the Rev. Scot Raef, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Luna died at 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, in Plainview Healthcare Center.
She was born Feb. 24, 1908, in Gonzales County. She moved to Tulia in 1951 and was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit.
Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Luna of Tulia; a son, Bravillo “Bill” Luna of Canyon; a sister, Martina Medina of Amarillo; and several grand- great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Juan Luna; a daughter, Connie Cruz, and a son, Benny Luna, are deceased.

Reba Marie Ragle
LOCKNEY - Funeral services for Reba Marie Ragle, 65, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in West College and Third Church of Christ with Frank Duckworth and Steve McLean officiating.
Burial will be in Lockney cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ragle died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at her residence.
She was born March 3, 1938 in Newcastle, the daughter of William Leroy and Gladys Ragle. She attended schools in Newcastle and Santa Fe, N.M., Rencona, N.M., and Lockney.
She attended LVN nursing school in Amarillo and worked in a nursing home in Claude. In 1968, she moved to Sherman and worked in a nursing home, a laundry and for 15 years for the Sherman Independent School District, retiring in 1990.
In 1990, she moved to Lockney. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her mother, Gladys Ragle of Lubbock; a sister, Charlotte McCulloch of Lubbock; a niece and her husband, Rhonda and Dane Chapman of Hillsboro; two nephews and their wives, David and Brenda McCulloch of Lockney and Jaime and Rhonda McCulloch of Denver City.
The family suggests memorials to the Lockney Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 82, Lockney, TX 79241 or to the West College and Third Church of Christ in Lockney.

Mertie Scheid
HOUSTON - Mertie B. Allen Scheid, 93, former resident of Tulia and Quitaque, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000. Following her instructions, no services were held. Arrangements were by Earthman Funeral Directors and Cemeteries of Houston.
Mrs. Scheid died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, in Houston.
She was born in 1906 in McKinney and attended the College of Industrial Arts in Denton. She taught school in Childress and Quitaque and moved to Tulia in 1950.
In 1929 she married
E.W. Scheid. He died in 1979.
Survivors include a son, Mark Scheid of Houston; and two grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Swisher County Library in Tulia or to a favorite charity.
