O.C. “Monroe” Jackson Sr.
TULIA - Funeral services for Otis Charles “Monroe” Jackson Sr., 70, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Jackson Chapel Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Matthew Veals, pastor of New Fellowship Baptist Church in Silverton, officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home.
Mr. Jackson died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002, in Lubbock.
He was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Clarksville to the late Monroe and Elizabeth Jackson. He was was raised and attended schools in Clarksville. He moved to Tulia in the early 1950s and worked for Taylor-Evans Seed for several years. He was retired and was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church in Silverton.
He married
Minnie Louise Hooker Barrow and later married
Velma June Dick. Both are deceased.
Surviving are one son, Otis Charles Jackson Jr. of Lubbock; two daughters, Betty Allen and Jennifer Perkins, both of Tulia; two brothers, Monroe Jackson of Clarksville and Danny Jackson of Lewisville; six sisters, Doris Ross, Julia Jackson and Earnestine Washington, all of Clarksville, Shirley Jackson of Dallas, Virginia Jackson of Elcon, Calif., and Bertha Gardner of Kansas City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mildred J. Moore
Funeral services for Mildred J. Moore, 93, of Pittsburg, former area resident, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Church in Plainview with grandsons, Rev. Dennis Cawthon of San Antonio and Rev. Jim Cawthon of Ada, Okla., officiating. Other grandsons, Gary Moore of Vega and Doug Moore of Canton, will assist.
Burial will be in Parklawn cemetery by Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg.
Mrs. Moore died Friday, May 31, 2002, in Pittsburg Hospital.
Mrs. Moore was born June 25, 1908, at Bluff Dale in Erath County to Lucy Cordellia Evans and Jesse Andrew Jackson. She graduated from Olney High School in 1927 and married
Isaac Watt Moore on Sept. 22, 1928 in New Castle. He died July 22, 1973. After their marriage, they lived in Olney.
They moved to Lockney in 1930 and, with the late James Miller of Plainview, they owned the Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in Lockney. Then she and her husband owned Ike´s Cafe and The Ice House until 1935 when they returned to Olney for two years.
In 1941, they began farming in the Halfway Community and moved into Plainview in the late 1960s and both were Star Route carries for Olton Route, Plainview United States Postal Service. She continued to live in Plainview until December 1985 when she moved to Littlefield.
In 1999, Mrs. Moore moved to Pittsburg to reside with her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Wanda Moore. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Wesley and Wanda Moore of Lake Bob Sandlin, Pittsburg, and Randy and Juanelle Moore of Hemet, Calif.; one son-in-law, Wiley Cawthon of Littlefield; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; two step grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Her husband; a daughter, Donna Cawthon; two brothers, Don and Marlin Jackson; one grandson, Dana Cawthon, and one great-grandaughter, Tasha Pelfrey, are deceased.

Isaac Hernandez Sabedra
DIMMITT - Funeral services for Isaac Hernandez Sabedra, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Ivey Chapel at Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home with the Rev. George Lule, pastor of the Church of God of the First Born in Hereford, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Fernando Fernandez, pastor of the Church of God of the First Born in Dimmitt.
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday in Ivey Chapel.
Mr. Sabedra died at 1:31 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.
He was born June 3, 1925, in Donna and married
Anita Sanchez on Sept. 15, 1965, in Canyon. Mr. Sabedra spent his childhood in Donna before moving to San Angelo. He then moved to Tulia before moving to Dimmitt in 1970. He was a farmer.
Mr. Sabedra served on the USS SeaBee during World War II and received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of the Church of God of the First Born, Farm Bureau and the VFW.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Betty Gonzalez of Plainview, Dora Sabedra of Austin, and Mary Rodriguez, Lucy Sabedra Rivera and Rosa Villarreal, all of Amarillo; four sons, Mark Sabedra of Franklin, Tenn., Isaac Sabedra Jr. of Odessa, Julian Sabedra of Grand Prairie and Alejandro Garcia of Amarillo; two brothers, Santiago Ybarra and Gregorio Ybarra, both of Donna; one sister, Maria Zuniga of Donna; 39 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Rafela Sosa, and two daughters, Martha Pena and Lucy Sabedra, are deceased.

Fred Smith
LITTLEFIELD - Graveside services for Fred Smith, 85, of Olton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Littlefield Memorial Park with Aaron Lee officiating.

He was born Sept. 10, 1916, in Grandfield, Okla. He married
Nell Goyne in Littlefield on Feb. 6, 1938. He moved to Olton in 1933 from Frederick, Okla. He was a farmer and member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronnie Smith of Olton; a daughter, Charla Novak of Lubbock; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Olton Ambulance Association, Box Q, Olton, TX 79064 or to a favorite charity.

Eugene Watts
FLOYDADA - Funeral services for former Floydada resident Eugene Watts, 58, of Weatherford, will be 2 p.m. today in Moore-Rose-White Memorial Chapel in Floydada with the Rev. Anthony D. Sisemore, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be at Floydada cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mr. Watts died Thursday, May 30, 2002.
He was born April 27, 1944, in Floydada. He attended schools in Floydada and received his general equivalency diploma in 1989. He married
Barbara Jan Perry on Feb. 1, 1967, in Plainview. He was a bus driver for the Aledo Independent School District for five years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Scott of Weatherford; two daughters, Kimberly Jan Watts and Elizabeth Anne Greer, both of Weatherford; two brothers, Allen Wayne of Paradise and Alfred Ray of Fort Myers, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends until 1 p.m. today at the J.W. Gilbreath residence in Floydada.

Mamie Williams
MILES - Graveside services for Mamie Williams, 86, of San Angelo, were at 11 a.m. Saturday in Miles cemetery.

Mrs. Williams died Thursday, May 30, 2002.
She was born Aug. 9, 1915, in Rice and was a homemaker and longtime resident of Cotton Center.
Survivors include her husband, W.R. “Bill” of Angelo; a daughter, Jean Findling of Utopia; a son, Ben Williams of Austin; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A son, Charles Pat, is deceased.
