Funeral services for Maria Buendia Rodriguez, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Primera Iglesia Bautista with the Rev. Joe Hernandez, pastor, and the Rev. Glen Godsey, associate director of missions of Caprock-Plains Baptist Area, officiating.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today in Lemons Memorial Chapel.
Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rodriguez died at 9:54 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2004, in Lockney Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1922, in Fredricksburg.
In 1950 she married
Eluterio “Luther” Rodriguez in Clovis, N.M.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Adan Chaves of Plainview; two sons and daughters-in-law, Reyes “Sonny” and Armandina Alonzo of Plainview and John Joe and Hortencia Alonzo of Amarillo; a sister, Elida Silva of Parlier, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Eliseo Buendia and Harry Buendia, and four sisters, Antonia Garza, Lola Guzman, Melesia Esquivel and Lupe Chavirria, are deceased.

Alice True Brown
Alice True Brown, former resident of Plainview, Texas, died in Atlanta, Ga., on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at the age of 85.
Alice was married
to Carl True of Plainview in 1936. Carl purchased a construction company and built bridges throughout the South and Midwest. Settling in Blackwell, Okla., in 1958, they owned and operated grain elevators until Carl´s death in 1976.
Alice was a member of Blackwell´s Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Hospital Auxiliary, American Business Women´s Association and the Blackwell Museum Restoration Society.
In 2002, Alice relocated to Atlanta to be near family.
She is survived by two daughters, Cloyce True Bishop and Norma True Wyckoff of Atlanta; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John Nemier of Virginia, and a number of nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, including Mary Sherman, Riley and Margaret True and S.M. and Anna Jean True, all of Plainview, and Ona Bell and Bill Stephens of Kansas City, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer´s Association, 1925 Century Blvd., NE, Suite 10, Atlanta, GA, 30345.

Ignacio Bustos
Funeral services for Ignacio Bustos, 53, were at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lemons Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Alberto Carrion officiating.

Mr. Bustos died at 8:48 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born Aug. 13, 1950, in Raymondville.
Surviving are three sons, Jaime Villanueva of New Braunfels, Ruben Bustos of College Station and Justin Bustos of Raymondville; his mother, Eduvina Bustos of Plainview; four brothers, Juan Bustos and Robert Bustos, both of Plainview, George Bustos of Hearn and Roger Bustos of Fort Worth; seven sisters, Herminia Cardona of Brian, Benita Bustos of Amarillo, Maria Flores, Rosalinda Bustos and Belinda Garza, all of Plainview, Mary Alice Perez of Sanger and Anna DelCampo of Benbrook; and two grandchildren.
His father, Benito Bustos, and five brothers, Hector, Juan 1st, Ines, Isaias and Esteban Bustos, are deceased.

John Jay Estes
Funeral services for John Jay Estes, 49, former Plainview resident, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Mondayin West Park cemetery in Hereford.

Mr. Estes died at 10:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in Crosbyton.
He was born Oct. 6, 1954, in Hereford and grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1972. He attended Wayland Baptist University for two years. He was a Realtor and farmed in Plainview before moving to Lubbock in 2000.
Mr. Estes was a member of First Baptist Church in Plainview and was a past member of the Plainview Lions Club.
He was active in FFA and 4-H with his children.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Erica Faye and Jarrett Clint Pigg of Turkey and Joanna Brooke Estes of Plainview; a son, John Garrett Estes of the U.S. Navy; his mother, Jaynice Estes Carpenter of Plainview; a sister and brother-in-law, Jodie Estes and Richard Williams of Galveston; two grandchildren, Madison Faye Pigg and Chance Clinton Pigg; and two nieces, Jaynice Nichole Williams and Katherine Ann Williams.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at 401 Mesa Circle and suggests memorials to First Baptist Church Music Fund, 205 W. Eighth, Plainview, TX 79072 or the American Heart Association.
