Jimmy Duke
LITTLEFIELD - Funeral services for Jimmy Dale Duke, 64, will be at 5 p.m. Friday in Crescent Park Church of Christ with Wilburn Dennis, Eric Dickey and Jamie Wooton officiating.
Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park by Hammons Funeral Home.
Mr. Duke died Wednesday, July 31, 2002.
He was born Dec. 24, 1937, in Dickens County. He served with the U.S. Army and after his discharge, returned to Littlefield and worked for the Lamb County Electrical Co-op for 15 years. He started his own business, Duke Electric, in 1973.
He was a former member of the West Texas Road Runners Motorcycle Club, Early Risers Lions Club and the Littlefield Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Crescent Park Church of Christ.
On June 17, 1960, he married
Freddie Offield in Littlefield.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Angela Duke of Lubbock and Stephanie Hansen of Calhan, Colo.; two brothers, Jackie Duke of Floydada and Billy Duke of Lovington, N.M.; three sisters, Gene Baird of Paducah, Wanda Davenport of Paoli, Okla., and Margie Baird of Tularosa, N.M.; and five grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Davron Duke Scholarship Fund.

Letha Elms
LITTLEFIELD - Funeral services for Letha Elms, 88, of Silverton, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Hammons Funeral Home Chapel in Littlefield with the Rev. Ken Horn officiating.
Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park by Hammons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Elms died Sunday, July 28, 2002.
She was born Jan. 24, 1914, in Briscoe County. She attended Milo and Vigo Park schools and graduated from Tulia High School in 1932. She received bachelor of science and master of education degrees from West Texas University Teacherīs College in Canyon and taught school for 37 years in Bula, Littlefield and Silverton.
She retired from the Silverton Independent School District in 1979 after teaching first grade there for 29 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Silverton and attended First Baptist Church in Tulia. She was an active member of the Tulia Senior Citizens and Tulia Volunteer Senior Program.
On Feb. 1, 1936, she married
Gilbert A. Elms in Littlefield. He died Feb. 26, 2001.
Survivors include a son, Larry A. Elms of Lubbock; a daughter, Shirley Jean Cates of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to the Tulia Senior Citizens or to the Milo cemetery Association, c/o Larry Elms, 4605 18th St., Lubbock, TX 79416.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Joe Fondy
SLATON - Funeral services for Joe B. Fondy, 76, were at 10:30 a.m. today in Englundīs Chapel with the Rev. Cleve Kerby officiating.
Burial was in Englewood cemetery by Englunds Funeral Service.
Mr. Fondy died Tuesday, July 30, 2002.
He was born Oct. 20, 1925, in Slaton. He moved with his family to Edgerton, Wis., in 1929 where he grew up and attended school.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and returned to Slaton in 1946. In 1947, he began work for Santa Fe Railroad and retired in August 1985 as a conductor.
He was active in the Slaton baseball program, Boy Scouts and Tiger Town Youth Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church and United Transportation Union.
On June 5, 1949, he married
Tincy Perkins in Slaton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe Wayne and Wesley P. Fondy, both of Slaton; a daughter, LuAnne Terry of Post; three brothers, John Fondy of Slaton, Louis Fondy of Clovis and Bob Fondy of Plainview; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.

Mary Ruth Ancheta
PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. - Memorial services for Mary Ruth Ruthie Ancheta, 71, former Hale Center resident, will be held today.
Mrs. Ancheta died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, in Community Memorial Hospital in Monterey, Calif. The body was cremated Monday.
She was born Jan. 10, 1931, in Munday, the daughter of the late J.B. and Elma Cornett. She moved with her family to Hale Center in 1941 when they purchased a section of land. She grew up in Hale Center and attended Hale Center schools. She had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and and also did volunteer work for the Baptist Church of Pacific Grove. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
On Feb. 5, 1952, she married
Don White in Floydada. He is deceased. On March 17, 1981, she married
Frank Ancheta in Wichita Falls.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Anne and Dave Deering of Salinas, Calif., and Jo Ellen and Fred Hall of Abington, Pa.; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Dale White of Wichita Falls; five sisters, Marie Lewis, Jeanette Steen and Nell Rogers, all of Hale Center, Jean Curry of Tahoka and Sylvia Shackelford of Cotton Center; one brother, George Cornett of Hale Center; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Steven White; a grandson, Jordan Ruskell; and three sisters, Dene Barnes, Estelle King and Opal Bowen, are deceased.

Dr. David Burgess
TULIA - Funeral services for David Brian Burgess, M.D., 48, of Tyler will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Lindley, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Ernie McGaughey, former pastor, assisting.
Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Tulia by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia.
Dr. Burgess died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002.
He was born Sept. 7, 1953, in Canyon. He was a family practice and emergency room physician.
Survivors include three sons, Dustin Craig and Donovan Brian, both of Tyler, and Devin Scott of Kingsport, N.Y.; his parents, David and May Burgess of Tulia; and one brother, Don Layton of Flower Mound.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Lloyd-James Funeral Home of Tyler and from 10 a.m. Saturday until service time at Wallace Funeral Home
