Brenda Joy Beasley
Funeral services for Brenda Joy Beasley, 61, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor of Seth Ward Baptist Church, and the Rev. Manuel Rodriguez, visitation minister at First Assembly, officiating.
Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beasley died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at her residence.
She was born June 12, 1943, in Olton. She was a hairdresser and worked as a secretary for J.Q. Long Roofing Co. for 11 years. She worked for Cable Vision in Lockney for seven years and was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
On Aug. 24, 1963, she married
Billy Beasley in Plainview.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry and Stacy Beasley of Spicewood and Trey Beasley of Lubbock; three daughters and a son-in-law, Dusty Rankin of Lubbock and Sheila and Tory Thrasher and Cristal Philpott, all of Plainview; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Doyle Gene and Gloria Meadows of Fayetteville, Tenn.; a sister, Judi Nickell of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her parents, Otis and Lucille Meadows, and two brothers, William and Wayne Meadows, are deceased.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Area Community Hospice Inc., 3109 Olton Road, Suite C, Winchester Plaza, P.O. Box 5087, Plainview, TX 79072.
Gladys Hudgins
HALE CENTER -- Funeral services for Gladys Rieff Hudgins, 87, will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Carrol Green and Dr. Gene Meacham officiating.
Burial will be in Hale Center cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hudgins died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 19, 1917, in West Fork, Ark. She married
Earl Brooks Hudgins on Jan. 22, 1946, in Lubbock and they moved to Hale Center as newlyweds. He died Feb. 22, 1963.
She was involved in RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) at the Hale County Farm and Ranch Museum and the Hale Center Senior Citizens Association. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served as nursery director and taught the 5-year-old class for more than 40 years.
She was employed at the Hale Center School Library and the Hale Center Public Library.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Sue Hudgins of Wolfforth; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ron Warren and Janice and Gary Abercrombie, all of Plainview; two brothers: Henry Rieff of Cotton Center and Glen Rieff of Plainview; five sisters, Naomi Weathers and Edith Sims, both of Plainview, Opal Barnes of Amarillo, Mildred Hammitt of Hale Center and Ruby Teeter of Little Rock, Ark.; and six grandchildren, Amanda Hudgins, Wesley Warren, Doug Warren, Cody Abercrombie, Lauren Abercrombie and Todd Abercrombie.
A sister, Evelyn Allen, died in 1993.
The family suggests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church or Hale Center Senior Citizens.

She was born Nov. 15, 1916, in Elida, N.M., the daughter of Mose and Annie Vaughn Edwards. She married
Raymond Sheeley in 1983 in Tulia. He died in 2003.
Mrs. Sheeley was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Silverton.
Survivors include two daughters, Edwina “Tina” Davis of Silverton and Jackie McVay of Tulia; a sister, Nettie Gililland of Amarillo; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents; husband; a son, Tommy Odell Jackson; two grandchildren, Patsy Ann Davis and Haskell Ray McVay; a sister; and two brothers are deceased.
The family will receive visitors from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Tulia.
