Sudie Gant
LOCKNEY -- Funeral services for Sudie Gant, 82, of Aiken, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church in Lockney with the Rev. Harold Abney and Dr. Carl Moman, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Lockney.
Mrs. Gant died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at her residence.
She was born May 30, 1922, in Prairie Valley, the daughter of Virgil and Ethyl Simmons. She married
Walter Newt Gant on June 1, 1940, in Whitney and they moved to Aiken from Hillsboro in 1957.
She was a homemaker a Sunday school teacher at Aiken Baptist Church for many years and a member of First Baptist Church in Lockney.
Survivors include her husband; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Lynda Gant of Lockney, Roy and Jean Gant of Graham and Fred and Judy Gant of Apple Valley, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Larry Elam of Lockney; three brothers, Fred Simmons of Justin, Mike Simmons of Aquila and Oliver Simmons of Waco; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Lola and Pearl Hutchison, are deceased.

Evelyn Morrison Herget
OAK LAWN, Ill. -- Memorial services for Evelyn Morrison Herget, 85, former Plainview resident, will be held May 20 in First United Methodist Church in Evergreen Park.
Mrs. Herget died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.
She was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Jacksonville, Texas, the daughter of Emma and Walter Morrison. She attended Snyder and Running Water schools in Hale County and received an associate´s degree from Wayland College.
She married
Conrad Herget in 1942 in LaJolla, Calif. He died in Evergreen Park in 1995.
She was involved in many organizations including First United Methodist Church in Evergreen Park and was a volunteer and officer at Christ Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Barry (Karen) DePass and Mrs. Randall (Janice) Converse; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Theron (Margaret) Morrison of Plainview.

She was born May 28, 1923, in Roswell, N.M., the daughter of E.O. and Ethel Brown Moore.

A daughter, LeJena Kay Mogg, and a sister, Dannie Marie Moore, are deceased.

Tulia -- Funeral servics for Carmen Alvarez, 54, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Mrs. Alvarez died Friday, May 13, 2005, at Odessey Hospice in Amarillo.
She was born April 10, 1951 in Hayes County, Texas. She grew up in Tulia and attended schools there. After high school, she attended Amarillo College for a couple of years.
She married
Joe Alvarez on Nov. 2, 1984 in Tulia. She worked at a number of jobs but was mainly a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband; six children, Rosie Ramirez, Toni Ramirez, Bibo Ramirez, Joey Alvarez and Amos Alvarez, all of Tulia, and Eric Ramirez of Livingston; her father, Seldedonio Zuniga, Sr. of Tulia; four brothers, Jesse Zuniga, Jiimmy Zuniga and Federico Zuniga, all of Tulia, and Seledonio Zuniga, Jr. of Amarillo; three sisters, Mary Ann Madrigal and Silvia Rosales, both of Tulia, and Lucy Cansino of Plainview; and nine grandchildren.
Her mother, Jovita Zuniga, and a sister, Jovita Rodriguez, are deceased.

Cora McMurrian
Graveside services for Cora McMurrian, 86, of Buhl, Idaho, former Plainview and area resident, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Plainview cemetery with Danny Ramos officiating.

Mrs. McMurrian died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Snake River Rehabilitation Center in Buhl.
She was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Dierks, Ark., the daughter of Donald and Mary Elmer McAnnally Weems. She married
Charlie Allison McMurrian on Jan. 21, 1939, in Pike County, Ark. The family followed the fruit crops for many years before settling in the Plainview area. After her husband´s death in 1983, she moved to Idaho to live with her youngest son.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Terry Dugan of Filer, Idaho; four sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Wanda McMurrian of Nampa, Idaho; Bennie and Debbie McMurrian of Fruitland, Idaho; Ruddie and Jan McMurrian of Floydada and Larry and Barbara McMurrian of Plainview; 28 grandchildren; and 53 great-grandchildren.
Her parents; three sons, Charles Lee, Wendall Dean and Daniel Gale; and a grandson, Bennie Dale, also are deceased.
