C.H. McCluskey
ABERNATHY -- Funeral services for C.H. McCluskey, 82, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Lowrie, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Center Plains cemetery in Cotton Center by Abell Funeral Home.
Mr. McCluskey died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, in Hendricks Hospital in Abilene.
He was born June 3, 1923, in Coahoma to Herbert and Nadine Schultz McCluskey. After graduating from Forsan High School, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, serving with the 27th Fighter Group for 3 1/2 years in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany. He was decorated with five Bronze Stars, Distinguished Unit, two Oak Leaf Clusters and a Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. McCluskey married
Emma Frances Sagesar on April 6, 1947, in Cotton Center. He worked in the oil field at Forsan until they moved to Cotton Center to begin farming. He later managed cotton gins at North Spade, Aiken and Friona.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Jim McCright of Stamford; a granddaughter and her husband, Jamie and Jim Bob Mote of Happy; two grandsons, Kevin McCright and his wife Jaime of Stamford and Bobby Joe Beach of Tahoka; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ruby and Curtis Wood of Zephyr and Blanche Becker of Big Spring; and a brother, Neal McCluskey of Zephyr.
His wife died June 28, 2005, and a daughter, Emma Joe Cook, died March 23, 2000. Two sisters, Jessie Minter and Faye Coonce, also are deceased.
Visitation will be from 7-8 tonight in Abell Funeral Home.

Kay Johnson
FLOYDADA -- Funeral services for Kay Johnson, 66, of Plainview, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Moore-Rose-White Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Neely Landrum, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Lockney, officiating.
Burial will be in Floydada cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, in University Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born Aug. 1, 1939, in Floydada, the daughter of Cleo and Ovelia Biggs Stephens Cooper. She lived in Floydada before moving to Plainview in 1984.
She was a retired LVN nurse and a member of the Church of Christ.
On Dec. 14, 1956, she married
Acie Johnson in Clovis, N.M.
Survivors include her husband of Plainview; two sons, Blain Johnson of Dumas and Steve Johnson of Lockney; two daughters, Jacki and husband Kerry Blackerby of Amarillo and Bonnie Maggard of Arlington; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A daughter, Sheryl Bennett, died in 1987. Her parents also are deceased.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Noe Martinez
Funeral Mass for Noe Martinez, 70, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Guadalupe with the Rev. Reymundo Manriquez, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Martinez died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 31, 1934, in Villa Union, Mexico, the son of Juan Martinez and Petra Salas Martinez. He moved to Plainview in 1976 and worked for Edmonson Wheat Growers and Cargill Meat Solutions, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alicia; three daughters, Patricia Sierra and Maria Elizabeth Martinez, both of Plainview, and Nora Martinez of Tulsa, Okla.; two sons, Noe Martinez Jr. of Midland and Jerry Martinez of Austin; two sisters, Elinda Martinez of Amarillo and Eudelia Armendares of Snyder; a brother, Enrique Martinez of Joliet, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Jessie Martinez and Willie Martinez, and a sister, Elsa Zamora, are deceased.

Joe Stokes
HALE CENTER -- Funeral services for Joe Stokes, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Garland Street Church of Christ in Plainview with Silas Short, former minister of Hale Center Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will be in Hale Center cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.
Mr. Stokes died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, in Hale Center.
He was born March 8, 1929, in OīDonnell. He received a bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M; in 1950.
He lived in Hale Center for more than 50 years and was a farmer.
He served on the Hale Center Co-op board and Great Plains Ag Credit board. He served 17 years with the Plainview Production Credit Association which merged with Amarillo PCA and was a loan officer for 14 years. He was chairman of the board for Hi-Plains Hospital and a member of Hale Center Church of Christ.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He married
Barbara Laney on Jan. 13, 1951, in Hale Center.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Stokes and wife Vicki of Plainview; a daughter, Karoline Ashmore and husband Kurt of Wellington; a brother, Frank Stokes of Carrollton; and four grandchildren.
A grandson, Chris Stokes, died in 1994. A brother, Johnny Stokes, also is deceased.

Patricia D. Thomas
Graveside services for Patricia D. Thomas, 78, were at 11 a.m. Thursday in Plainview Memorial Park.
Arrangements were by Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
Ms. Thomas died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, in Covenant Hospital Plainview.
She was born May 27, 1927, in Plainview, the daughter of Leon and Ione Duncan. She was a lifelong resident of Plainview. She was a graduate of Plainview High School and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Schulz and Sue Looney, both of Plainview, and Christi Williams of Turkey; seven grandchildren, KrisAnn Schulz, Jennifer Sullivan, Kerri Looney, Cally Sperry, Kip Pool, Pecos Williams and Kelby Williams; and six great-grandchildren.

James Bothwell
