LUBBOCK - Graveside services for Shawn Matthew Andrews, infant son of John and Cheryl Andrews, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Martindale officiating.

The child died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002.
He was born June 23, 2002, in Lubbock.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Michaela Chamblee of Lubbock; his grandparents, Jim and Cindy Andrews of Lubbock and David and Diane Powers of Tulia; and his great-grandparents, Bob and Eddie Ruth Andrews of Lubbock and Lawrence and Anna Powers of Boise City, Okla.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Gayle Sherlock, 69, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bartley-Silva Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Steve Rogers, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church, and Gary Sherlock of New Life Assembly of God in Mansfield officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.
Mr. Sherlock died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, in Covenant Hospital in Plainview after a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Wood, S.D. He was a custom harvester in Clovis, N.M., for 11 years before moving to Plainview in 1972. He worked for Curry Motor Freight for 11 years.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kim Sherlock of Mansfield; three brothers, Donald Sherlock of Burney, Calif., Raymond Sherlock of Montana and Lyle Sherlock of Richmond, Wash.; three sisters, Mildred McLendon of Lake Tawakoni, Dorothy Schmidt and Elna Rudd, both of Montesano, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Graham, Mack Trevathan, Leroy Tipton, Travis Sherlock, Chad Sherlock and Dwain Walker. Honorary pallbearer will be Rex Davey.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Acenith Kinard
LOCKNEY - Funeral services for Acenith Kinard, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neely Landrum officiating.

Mrs. Kinard died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, in Rockport at her daughterīs residence.
She was born June 7, 1920, in Paluxy, the daughter of AsaLeonard and Ludie Mills Sanderson. She attended schools at Sand Hill in Floyd County.
she was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Floyd County.
On Jan. 30, 1950, she married
William Glen Kinard in Clovis, N.M. He died March 5, 1985.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jerry Mickey of Rockport; a sister, Elna Bloys of Floydada; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 3-5 p.m.

Mahlon L. Goebel
ABERNATHY - Graveside services for Mahlon L. Goebel, 81, of Lubbock, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Abernathy cemetery with the Rev. Marvin James officiating.

Mr. Goebel died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at his residence.
He was born March 29, 1921, in Abernathy where he grew up. He moved to Lubbock after graduating from New Deal High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July of 1942. He was discharged in November of 1946 and retired from Santa Fe Railroad in 1981 after 31 years of service.
On June 20, 1951, he married
Candy McAteer in Lubbock. She died April 15, 1981. He married
Eloise Kelley on Nov. 30, 1981 in Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debra Dupler of Lubbock; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, Rodney Edmunds, died in March 2001.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.

Verna Maye Steele
LOCKNEY - Funeral services Verna Maye Steele, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in West College & Third Street Church of Christ with Frank Duckworth and Earle McDonough officiating.

Mrs. Steel died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, in New Braunfels.
She was born July 2, 1922, in Lockney, the daughter of James Carl Huddleston and Della Carthel Huddleston Willmon. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1942. She lived in Floyd County until moving to Spring Branch in July 2000. She was a homemaker and a beautician.
On April 28, 1945, she married
James Donald Steele in Floyd County. He died April 28, 1976.
Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Steele of Spring Branch and David N. Steele of Germantown, Tenn.; three sisters, Catherine Handley of Lubbock, Carlene Corder of Amarillo and Lela Skutevik of Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A son, James Carl Steele, died April 12, 1999.
