Arthur S. Brown
LOCKNEY - Graveside services for Arthur S. Brown, 91, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Lockney cemetery with the Rev. Nathan Mulder officiating.
Burial will be by Moore-Rose White Funeral Home of Lockney.
Mr. Brown died Friday, April 18, 2003 in Covenant Hospital Plainview.
He was born May 12, 1911 in Henrietta to Charlie Haywood and Alice Wedmore Brown. He graduated from South Plains High School and married
Mary Nell Calahan on Sept. 29, 1934 in Silverton. She died in 1986.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He owned a gas station in Lockney until he moved to Plainview where he managed a Fina station for many years and retired in 1986. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Lindeman of Kress; a brother, Carl Brown of Corpus Christi; a sister, Ruth Roberson of Plainview; a grandson, Chris Cooper of Lubbock; a granddaughter, Cindy Stanford of Plainview; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Stanford of Plainview and two great-grandsons, Dustin and Calahan Stanford of Plainview.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church, 401 S. Main, Lockney, TX 79241.

Lois Pool
Funeral services for Lois Pool, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pool died at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in Plainview Healthcare Center.
She was born Sept. 12, 1911 in Sanger and attended schools in Sanger, Ranger and Happy Union. She moved to Plainview in 1925 and married
Raymond Pool on Feb. 3, 1987 in Plainview.
She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are her husband; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bobby J. Bishop of Irving and L. Wayne and Teresa Bishop of Marrietta, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Donna Gilbreath of Plainview and Anita McPherson of Arlington; a brother-in-law, Hobbie Smith of Plainview; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Her first husband, Arnold W. Bishop, and a brother and two sisters are deceased.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society of College Heights Baptist Church.

J.D. Dunlap
AMARILLO - Funeral services for J.D. Dunlap, 78, former Plainview resident, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.
Burial will be in Llano East cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Mr. Dunlap died Monday, May 19, 2003.
He was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Floyd County, the son of James Andrew and Fannie Love Dunlap. He was co-owner of Dunlap-Nabors Garage in Plainview for many years and most recently owner of Dunlap´s Marina at Lake Bridgeport.
He was a member of the Assembly of God.
On May 21, 1942, he married
Ollie VanHoose in Bridgeport.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Peggy Faye Dunlap and Theresa Ann Rueb, both of Amarillo; two grandchildren; a step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Virginia Norris Lyon
LOCKNEY - Graveside services for Virginia Norris Lyon, 79, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Lockney cemetery with Bob Glover, minister, officiating.
Burial arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lyon died Sunday, May 18, 2003, in Covenant Hospital in Plainview.
She was born Nov. 30, 1923, in Lockney, the daughter of Alex and Glenna Burns Norris. She was a lifelong resident of Lockney where she grew up and graduated from high school. She graduated from McMurry College and taught in the high school for nine years and elementary for 23 years.
She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ.
Her husband, Elvin Raymond Lyon, died in 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Lyon of Lockney.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today

Herbert N. Smith Jr.

Mr. Smith died at 11:42 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at his residence.
He was born May 20, 1944, in Plainview. He grew up in the Providence Community and graduated from Lockney High School in 1962. He farmed before being drafted into the U.S. Army. After serving his tour of duty, he returned and continued farming, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.
On Jan. 22, 1965, he married
Sharon Seal in Plainview.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lori and John Coyte of Wolfforth and Lisa Dawn Smith of Plainview; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joan Rogers of Minnesota and Donna and Jerry Griffith of Lubbock; his mother-in-law, Juanita Arney of Plainview; and four grandchildren.
A daughter, Kimberly Smith, and two grandchildren are deceased.

Mrs. Fowler died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at her residence.
She was born March 26, 1921 in Coryell County and married
Norlan J. Fowler on Nov. 23, 1938 in Crosbyton. He died Sept. 11, 1992.
She moved to Crosbyton in 1938 and was a Methodist and member of the Big Four Quilting Club. She was a nurse´s aid at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital for 15 years.
Surviving are a son, Randy J. Fowler of Floydada; two daughters, Janice St. Clair of Crosbyton and Norlena Fulford of Brownfield; a sister, Virginia “Jenny” Ray of Crosbyton; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
