John Elliott
John Tom Elliott, 83, of El Dorado, AR died Monday, April 19, 2004 at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22 at Young’s Funeral Home in El Dorado with burial at Arlington Cemetery.
A native of El Dorado, he retired from Chemico Air Pollution Control of New York City and Monsanto Chemical Co. in El Dorado. He was also a World War II United States Marine Corps Staff Segeant, serving in the South Pacific.
Survivors include his wife of 64 1/2 years, Almeda Crowder Elliott; daughters, Nancy Lewis of Magnolia and Peggy Byrd of Silsbee; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Margurette Weathersby
Margurette Gunter Weathersby, 88, of Chandler, AZ died Saturday, April 17, 2004 in Chandler.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 22 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 at the funeral home.
A native of Bessmay and a longtime resident of Silsbee, she taught first grade in the Silsbee School District for 43 years.
Survivors include her sister-in-laws, Justine Whiddon and Vishti Norrid, both of Beaumont, Annie Mae Gunter of Chandler and Stephanie Gunter of Houston.
Rev. Woodrow Brown
Rev. Woodrow Wilson Brown, 89, of Silsbee, died Saturday, April 3, 2004 at his residence.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 6 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home with burial at Resthaven Cemetery also in Silsbee.
He was a longtime minister in the East Texas area.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Brown of Silsbee; daughter, Loretta Rose of Silsbee; stepsons, Jeffery Ratcliff of Nacogdoches, Dewayne Ratcliff of Silsbee and Bobby Ratcliff of Kirbyville; stepdaughter, Lois Poland of Kountze; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Ardell Ward
Ardell Ward, 89, of Fred, died Saturday, April 3, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 6 at North Hardin Baptist Church in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home also in Silsbee with burial at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.
A native of Evadale, she was a longtime resident of Fred and a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jo Callaway of Fred; brother, Marvin “Bo” Gore of Kountze; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Evelyn Price
Evelyn Irene Price, 86, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at her residence.
A graveside service was held Monday, April 5 at South Union Cemetery in Baywood, LA under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
A native of Shreveport, LA, she had lived in Silsbee four years.
Survivors include her husabnd, Roy Allen Price of Silsbee; sons, Hugh Williams and Travis Barnett, both of Shreveport; daughters, Maxine Williams of North Carolina and Barbara Richards of Silsbee; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Jeffrey Langley
Jeffrey Willis “Jeff” Langley, 52, of Kountze, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 3 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze.
A native of Beaumont, he was employed with Halliburton Energy Services for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Jo; daughter, Elizabeth Langley; son, Lucas Langley; stepdaughter, Melissa Grider Hamilton; stepsons, Aaron Grider and Nathan Grider; parents, Orval and Lois Langley of Kountze; brother, Richard Langley of Lumberton; and five grandchildren.
Randy Drake
Randy Drake, 50, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.
Funeral service was held Saturday, April 3 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial at Old Hardin Cemetery also in Kountze.
A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Lumberton and was a machinist for Mobil Oil for 21 years.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Drake of Lumberton; mother and stepfather, Jean and Joe Tumlinson of Beaumont; father, Gerald Drake of Dam B; sons, Randall David Drake Jr. and Brian Wayne Drake, both of Kountze and Adam Joel Drake of Silsbee; stepson, Jared Y’Barbo of Lumberton; brothers, Gerald Drake Jr. of Houston and Richard Wayne Drake of Kountze; sister, Cindy Hunt of Silsbee; and six grandchildren.
