Autrey Crawford III
Autrey Lee Crawford III, 30, of Warren, died Saturday, March 20, 2004 in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 24 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Cunningham Cemetery also in Silsbee.
He lived most of his life in Warren and Fred and was employed by Triple “S” Construction Company. He also served four years in the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia Wood of Warren; father and stepmother, Autrey L. and April Crawford Jr. of Fred; sisters, Sara Crawford of Warren, Heather Harralson of Silsbee and Sabrina Crawford of Fred; brothers, David Zeller of Warren and Harold Sharp Jr. of Fred; grandparents, Billy and Sylvia Wood of Jasper, and Mary Crawford and Bobby Biddle, both of Silsbee.
Thomas Hobbs
Thomas “Jeff” Jefferson Hobbs, 57, went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at his home in Belton, Texas after a brave battle with brain cancer. In accordance with Jeff’s wishes, a memorial service was held March 22 at 4:30 p.m. at Foundation United Methodist Church at Lakewood, where he and his wife are members. Pastor Steve Buchele officiated at the service. Cremation was handled through Dossman Funeral Home and his ashes will be interred in the North Belton Cemetery in Belton, Texas at a later date.
Jeff was born in Huntsville, Texas on January 29, 1947 and lived in Silsbee, Texas most of his life with the last six years being in Belton, Texas. Jeff worked at Silsbee State Bank as Vice-President, Head Cashier; at Silsbee Independent School District as Business Manager; at Belton Independent School District as Business Manager; and as a Sales Representative for Don Ringler Toyota. He was a 1965 Silsbee High graduate, a 1970 graduate with a BS from Lamar University of Beaumont, Texas and a 1978 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Janet Ludwig Hobbs; daughter, Jennifer Hobbs Walker and her husband, Steven of Newport News, Virginia; mother, Rebecca Hobbs of Beaumont, Texas; sister, Becky Wright and her husband, Don of Beaumont, Texas; aunt, Marjorie Cassity and husband Cecil of Silsbee, Texas; aunt, Kathleen Frazier of Galveston, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Hobbs.
Claudine McMahon
Claudine Jeannette Placker Moulder McMahon, 73, of Bremond and formerly of Silsbee, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the Falls Community Hospital in Marlin.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 13 at Abraham Hall in Bremond. She donated her body to science to further benefit the study and research in the medical field.
A native of Houston, she did private duty nursing for over 25 years and worked in the Cancer Unit at the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont for seven years.
Survivors include son, Mickey Justice of Silsbee; daughter, Bonnie Grych of Bremond; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Sharon Courts
Sharon Kay Courts, 52, of Kountze, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Saturday, March 20 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial at Old Hardin Cemetery also in Kountze.
A native and lifelong resident of Kountze, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Courts of Kountze; son, Howard Courts Jr of Kountze; mother, Mary Francis Brown of Saratoga; brothers, J.M. Brown, Johnny Warren Brown, Gerald Brown, and Glenn Ray Brown, all of Saratoga, Darrell Brown of Liberty and Bearl Brown of Highlands; sisters, Barbara Martin, Brenda Fowler, Vickie York and Linda Arrant, all of Saratoga, Ida Peirce of Baytown and Theresa Simmons of Liberty; and one grandchild.
Roy Posey
Roy Ray Posey, 82, of Kountze, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at his residence.
A graveside service was held Saturday, March 20 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home also in Beaumont.
A native of Cameron and a former resident of Beaumont, he had lived the past three years in Kountze and was a retired electrician from IBEW Local 479 in Beaumont. He was also a United States Navy World Ward II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Posey of Kountze; son, Ray Posey Jr. of Lumberton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Shirley Goodman
Shirley A. Goodman, 63, of Lumberton, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Monday, March 22 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont with burial at Leatherwood Cemetery in Lumberton.
A native of Beaumont and a longtime resident of Lumberton, she was a clerk at the Lumberton Chevron Convenience Store.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Goodman of Lumberton; sons, James Edward Goodman and Mark W. Goodman, both of Lumberton; daughter, Pamela Weatherford of Lumberton; brothers, Ronnie Edward Michael of Knoxville, TN and Richard Allen Michael of California; sister, Mary Joyce Wilderson of Houston; and four grandchildren.
Georgiana Guerrero
Georgiana Guerrero, 81, of Lumberton, died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, March 23 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery also in Beaumont.
A native of Freeport, she was a welder for Bethlehem Steel during World War II. She was also employed as a receptionist with TSO and as a ward clerk at Galveston County Hosptial.
Survivors include son, Joe Vargas of Nederland; daughter, Georgiana Vargas of Lumberton; brothers, Isidro Guerrero and Manuel Gutierrez, both of Beaumont, Raymond Gutierrez of Rose City and Richard Gutierrez of Lumberton; sisters, Julia Guerrero and Paula Guajordo, both of Beaumont, Dee Gracia of Vidor, and Margaret Ramirez and Olivia Ramirez, both of Nederland; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
